BEFORE USE

Thank you for buying this Pioneer product.
Please read through these operating instructions before using

your speaker system to optimize performance.

• The nominal impedance of this speaker system is
8 Ω. Connect the speaker system to an amplifier with a
load impedance ranging from 4 Ω to 16 Ω ( a model w ith “4
Ω to 16 Ω” displayed on the speaker output terminals).

In order to prevent damage to the speaker system
resulting from input overload, please observe the following
precautions:

• When connecting or disconnecting cables, be sure
amplifier power is OFF.

• Do not use excessive amplifier volume if using a tone
control to emphasize high or low frequencies.

• Do not install these units near a stove or other heating
appliance, or put them in a place exposed to the sun. Such
locations may cause the cabinet to change color and the
speaker system to break down.

• Do not use the speaker to output distorted sound for long
periods of time. This can result in a fire hazard.

• Do not connect this speaker to any amplifier other than the
one supplied with this system. Connection to any other
amplifier may result in a malfunction or a fire.

FRONT / CENTER / SURROUND SPEAKERS

• This speaker system is magnetically shielded. However,
depending on the installation location, color distortion
may occur if the speaker system is installed extremely
close to the screen of a television set.

If this happens, turn off the television, then turn it on again
after 15 min to 30 min. If the problem persists, place the
speaker system away from the television set.

S-FCR3700:

• Do not attach the front speakers to the wall or ceiling. It
may fall off and cause injury.

S-FCR3300-K:

• Do not attach the center speakers to the wall or ceiling. It
may fall off and cause injury.

SUBWOOFER

• Do not attach the subwoofer to the wall or ceiling. It may
fall off and cause injury.

• Do not place anything on top of the cabinet.

• Do not spill liquid on the cabinet.

• Place the subwoofer at least 8 inches (20 cm) from any
wall or curtain in order to avoid heat build-up.

• The subwoofer is not magnetically shielded and so should
not be placed near a TV or monitor. Magnetic storage
media (such as floppy discs and tape or video cassettes)
should also not be kept close to the subwoofer.

Connect to the speaker terminals on the rear of the
receiver.

To connect, insert the colored wire into the matching positive
(colored) terminal and the other wire into the negative (black)
terminal as shown below.

Note that the color-coded tabs are as follows:

• Red : Front right (R) • Purple : Subwoofer

• White : Front left (L) • Grey : Surround right (R)

• Green : Center speaker • Blue : Surround left (L)

Connect to the speaker terminals on the rear of the
speakers.

Match the colored wire with the color-coded label, then insert
the colored wire into the red (+) tab and the other wire with the
black (

–) tab.

CONNECTING YOUR SYSTEM

Important

Make sure all equipment is turned off before making any
connections.

• Correct wiring of your loudspeakers is essential for
achieving the best sound quality. Be careful to ensure
proper polarity of connection.

CAUTION

hese speaker terminals carry HAZARDOUS LIVE

voltage. To prevent the risk of electric shock when

connecting or disconnecting the speaker cables,
disconnect the power cord before touching any
uninsulated parts.

Twist and pull off the protective shields on each wire.

PLACEMENT AND FINE TUNING

FRONT SPEAKERS

For best results the loudspeakers should be separated a
distance approximately equal to the listening distance.
Angling the loudspeakers inward towards the listener will
improve the image stability for non-central listeners. Close
proximity to a side or rear wall will enhance the midbass
performance, although too close (particularly a corner
location) and the bass may be unnaturally high and image
performance may be degraded.

CENTER SPEAKER

The loudspeaker should be positioned below the TV. For best
results align the front of the loudspeaker with the front of the
TV. If the loudspeaker is placed under the TV and very close to
the floor, then tilting upwards may be beneficial.

When installing the center speaker on top of the TV, be sure to
secure it with tape or some other suitable means. Otherwise,
the speaker may fall from the TV due to external shocks such
as earthquakes, endangering those nearby or damaging the
speaker.

SURROUND SPEAKERS

For best results the loudspeakers should be positioned at or
above ear level. Depending upon your room layout and
preferences, the left and right rear speakers should be
positioned on the side walls just the rear of the listening
position, or on the walls.

SUBWOOFER

Sound spreads in all directions in the very low frequency
range. Human hearing cannot easily detect the source of very
low frequencies. Be sure to provide a space of at least 8 inches
(20cm) between the rear of the subwoofer and the nearest
wall.

STANDARD SURROUND SETUP

This is a standard multichannel surround sound speaker
setup for optimal 5.1 channel home theater sound.

Secure each of the front speakers using the plastic catch
provided.

Screw two picture hooks or similar into the wall behind the
speaker. Pass a cord around the hooks and through the
plastic catch so that the speaker is stabilized (make sure to
test that it supports the weight of the speaker).

After installing, make sure the speaker is securely fixed.

Assembling the speaker stand bases and
securing your front speakers
(S-FCR3700 only)

Attach the speaker stand bases to the stems using the screws
provided.

Once you have aligned the stem and base, secure with the
small screws at the points shown below. Note that the speaker
should face in the direction of the base of the isosceles
triangle (outlined below).

Caution

• The plastic catch is not a mounting fixture, and the
speaker should not be hung directly from the wall using
this catch. Always use a cord when stabilizing the speaker.

• Pioneer disclaims all responsibility for any losses or
damage resulting from improper assembly, installation,
insufficient strength of the installation materials, misuse,
or natural disasters.

• Do not stand on the speaker stand base of the tall speaker
to push or swing the speaker. The speaker may fall and
break, or someone may be injured. Pay special attention to
children.

NON-SKID PADS

S-FCR3700:

Attach the small non-skid pads to the base of the surround
and center speakers. The large non-skid pads are for the front
speakers (as shown).

Use the adhesive side of the pads to attach them to the base
of each speaker.

If you choose to use speaker stands with the surround
speakers, attach the non-skid pads to the stand bases instead
of to the underside of the speakers.

If the front, center and surround speakers are placed on a hard
surface, such as wood or tile place four non-skid pads on the
bottom flat surface of the speakers.

S-W3700-K:

Attach the large non-skid pads to the base of the subwoofer.
Use the adhesive side of the pads to attach them to the base

of the subwoofer.

OPTIONALLY, ATTACH THE SURROUND
SPEAKERS TO THE SPEAKER STANDS
(S-FCR3700 ONLY)

For each speaker,line up the spurs on the stand with the holes
on the back of the speaker and insert, then secure the speaker
to the stand with the screw provided.

WALL-MOUNTING THE SPEAKERS

Before mounting

• Remember that the speaker system is heavy and that its
weight could cause the screws to work loose, or the wall
material to fail to support it, resulting in the speaker
falling. Make sure that the wall you intend to mount the
speakers on is strong enough to support them. Do not
mount on plywood or soft surface walls.

• Mounting screws are not supplied. Use screws suitable for
the wall material and support the weight of the speaker.

Note

CABINET MAINTENANCE

Use a polishing cloth or dry cloth to wipe off dust and dirt.
When the cabinet is very dirty, clean with a soft cloth dipped

in some neutral cleanser diluted five or six times with water,
and then wipe again with a dry cloth. Do not use furniture wax
or cleaners.

Never use thinners, benzine, insecticide sprays and other
chemicals on or near the cabinets, since these will corrode the
surfaces.

SPEAKER SYSTEM GRILL
(S-FCR3300-K only)

The speaker system grill cannot be removed. Do not try to
forcibly remove it since doing so may damage the grille.

Selecting fine audio equipment such as the unit you’ve just
purchased is only the start of your musical enjoyment. Now it’s
time to consider how you can maximize the fun and excitement
your equipment offers. This manufacturer and the Electronic
Industries Association’s Consumer Electronics Group want you
to get the most out of your equipment by playing it at a safe level.
One that lets the sound come through loud and clear without
annoying blaring or distortion-and, most importantly, without
affecting your sensitive hearing.

Sound can be deceiving. Over time your hearing “comfort
level” adapts to higher volumes of sound. So what sounds
“normal” can actually be loud and harmful to your hearing. Guard
against this by setting your equipment at a safe level BEFORE
your hearing adapts.

To establish a safe lev el:

Start your volume control at a low setting.

Slowly increase the sound until you can hear it comfortably

andclearly, and without distortion.

Once you have established a comfortable sound level:

Set the dial and leave it there.

damage or loss in the future. After all, we want you listening for

• L’impédance nominale de ces enceintes est de 8 Ω.
Connectez-les à un amplificateur dont l’impédance de
charge va de 4 Ω à 16 Ω (un modèle sur lequel l’indication
“4 Ω à 16 Ω” apparaît sur les bornes de sortie des haut­parleurs).

Pour éviter aux enceintes acoustiques des dégâts causés
par une surcharge à l’entrée, respectez les précautions
suivantes :

• Avant de brancher ou de débrancher les câbles, assurez­vous que l’amplificateur est hors tension (OFF).

• N’élevez pas excessivement le volume si vous utilisez une
commande des tonalités pour accentuer les hautes ou les
basses fréquences.

PRÉCAUTIONS À L’INSTALLATION

• N’installez pas ces appareils près d’un feu ou d’un
appareil de chauffage et ne les placez pas en plein soleil.
De tels endroits pourraient décolorer le coffret ou
provoquer une panne des haut-parleurs.

• N’utilisez pas les enceintes pour produire des sons
distordus pendant une longue période. Ceci entraîne un
risque d’incendie.

• Ne reliez pas cette enceinte à un amplificateur autre que
celui qui est fourni avec le système. Cela pourrait
provoquer un dysfonctionnement ou un incendie.

HAUT-PARLEURS AVANT / CENTRAL / AMBIANCE

• Cette enceinte est magnétiquement blindée. Toutefois,
selon l’endroit de son installation, une distorsion des
co ul eur s peut se pr odu ir e si l’enceinte est placée tout près
de l’écran d’un téléviseur.

Si ce phénomène se produit, éteignez le téléviseur, puis
remettez-le sous tension après 15 à 30 minutes. Si la
difficuté subsiste, éloignez l’enceinte par rapport au
téléviseur.

S-FCR3700 :

• Ne fixez pas les haut-parleurs avant à un mur ou au
plafond. Il risquerait, en tombant, de blesser quelqu’un.

S-FCR3300-K :

• Ne fixez pas le haut-parleur central à un mur ou au
plafond. Il risquerait, en tombant, de blesser quelqu’un.

Torsadez et enlevez la gaine protective de chaque
cordon.

Branchez les cordons sur les bornes de haut-parleur à
l’arrière de l’ampli-tuner.

Pour installer le système, insérez le fil de couleur dans la borne
positive de couleur correspondante et l’autre fil dans la borne
négative noire de la façon indiquée ci-dessous.

Les couleurs suivantes ont été affectées aux différentes
enceintes :

• Rouge : avant droit (R) • Violet : caisson de basses

• Blanc : avant gauche (L) • Gris : ambiance droit (R)

• Vert : centre • Bleu : ambiance gauche (L)

CAISSON DE BASSE

• Ne fixez pas le caisson de basses au mur ou au plafond. Il
risquerait, en tombant, de blesser quelqu’un.

• Ne posez rien sur le dessus du coffret.

• Ne renversez aucun liquide sur le coffret.

• Posez le caisson de basse à au-moins 20 cm de tout mur
ou rideau afin d’éviter un échauffement interne.

• Comme le caisson de basse n’est pas blindé
magnétiquement, ne le placez pas à proximité d’un
téléviseur ou d’un moniteur. En plus, tout support
magnétique de données (tels que disquettes, bandes ou
cassettes vidéo) doit être placé loin du caisson de basses.

BRANCHEMENT DU SYSTÈME

Assurez-vous que tous les appareils sont hors tension avant

• Un câblage correct des haut-parleurs est indispensable
pour obtenir une bonne qualité sonore. Veillez à respecter
les polarités lors des branchements.

ATTENTION

Les bornes des haut-parleurs sont sous une tension
ACTIVE DANGEREUSE. Pour éviter tout risque de

décharge électrique lors du branchement et du
débranchement des câbles de haut-parleur, débranchez
le cordon d’alimentation avant de toucher des parties
non isolées.

Raccordez les cordons de haut-parleur sur les bornes
d’entrée à l’arrière du haut-parleur.

Faites correspondre le cordon coloré avec l’étiquette de même
couleur, puis insérez le cordon coloré dans le taquet rouge (+)
et l’autre cordon dans le taquet noir (

–).

DISPOSITION ET RÉGLAGE PRÉCIS

HAUT-PARLEURS AVANT

Pour obtenir des résultats optimaux, les haut-parleurs doivent
être séparés d’une distance pratiquement égale à celle
jusqu’à la position d’écoute. Une orientation des haut­parleurs vers l’intérieur et vers l’auditeur améliorera la
stabilité de l’image acoustique pour les auditeurs non placés
au centre. La trop grande proximité d’un mur latéral ou du mur
arrière renforce la performance des basses moyennes, tandis
que si vous êtes trop près d’un coin surtout, les basses
deviennent artificiellement hautes et l’image acoustique est
amoindrie.

HAUT-PARLEUR CENTRAL

Ce haut-parleur doit être positionné sous le téléviseur. Pour
optimiser les résultats, alignez l’avant du haut-parleur et celui
du téléviseur. Si ce haut-parleur est posé sous le téléviseur et
très près du plancher, il est préférable de l’incliner vers le
haut.

À l’installation de l’enceinte centrale au-dessus du téléviseur,
vérifiez de la fixer avec une bande ou quelque autre moyen
approprié. Autrement, l’enceinte peut tomber du téléviseur
suite à des chocs externes comme des tremblements de terre,
mettant en danger toute personne se trouvant à proximité ou
endommageant l’enceinte.

HAUT-PARLEURS D’AMBIANCE

Pour obtenir d’excellents résultats, ces haut-parleurs doivent
être positionnés au niveau des oreilles ou au-dessus. En
fonction de l’agencement de la pièce et de vos préférences, les
haut-parleurs arrière gauche et droit seront positionnés sur
les murs latéraux juste derrière la position d’écoute ou sur les
parois.

Assemblage des bases des supports de
haut-parleurs et fixation des haut-parleurs
avant
(S-FCR3700 seulement)

Fixez les bases des supports de haut-parleur sur les tiges au
moyen des vis fournies.

Une fois que la tige et la base sont alignées, fixez-les avec les
petites vis aux points indiqués ci-après. Notez que le haut­parleur doit être dirigé vers la base du triangle isocèle (décrit
ci-après).

Fixez chacun des haut-parleurs au moyen de l’attache
plastique fournie.

Vissez deux crochets pour cadre ou du même genre dans la
paroi qui sera derrière le haut-parleur. Faites passer un cordon
autour des crochets et par l’attache plastique de sorte que le
haut-parleur soit stabilisé (prenez soin de vérifier que la paroi
peut soutenir le poids du haut-parleur).

Après son installation, assurez-vous que le haut-parleur est
fermement fixé.

CAISSON DE BASSE

Le son de la plage des très basses fréquences se répand dans
toutes les directions. L’oreille humaine détecte difficilement la
source des très basses fréquences. Veillez à laisser un espace
d’au-moins 20 cm entre l’arrière du caisson de basse et le mur
le plus proche.

• L’attache plastique n’est pas une ferrure de fixation et le
haut-parleur ne sera pas suspendu directement à une
paroi au moyen de cette attache. Utilisez toujours un
cordon pour immobiliser le haut-parleur.

de dégâts résultant d’une erreur d’assemblage et
d’installation, d’une solidité insuffissante des matériaux
d’installation, d’une utilisation inappropriée ou de

• Ne vous placez pas sur la base de support du grand haut­parleur pour pousser ou faire pivoter celui-ci. Le haut­parleur pourrait tomber et se briser, voire causer des

Pour chaque enceinte, alignez les ergots du pied sur les
orifices placés à l’arrière de l’enceinte puis insérez-les avant
de fixer l’enceinte sur le pied avec la vis fournie.

FIXATION DES HAUT-PARLEURS SUR UNE
PAROI

Avant l’installation

• Sachez que les haut-parleurs sont pesants et que leur
poids peut entrainer le détachement des vis à bois ou
l’arrachement du matériau auxquels ils sont fixés, ce qui
provoquerait leur chute. Assurez-vous que la paroi sur
laquelle vous voulez fixer les haut-parleurs soit assez
résistante pour les supporter. Ne les installez pas sur une
surface en contreplaqué ou sur une paroi friable.

• Des vis de montage ne sont pas fournies. Utilisez des vis
appropriées au matériau de la paroi et pouvant résister au
poids des haut-parleurs.

ENTRETIEN DU COFFRET

Servez-vous d’un chiffon de nettoyage ou d’un linge sec pour
enlever la poussière et la saleté.

Si le coffret est très sale, frottez-le au moyen d’un linge doux
trempé dans un produit de nettoyage neutre, dilué 5 à 6 fois
dans son volume l’eau, puis essuyez avec un linge sec.
N’utilisez pas de cire ou de décapant pour meubles.

N’employez jamais de diluant, benzène, insecticide en
atomiseur ou d’autres produits chimiques sur ou à proximité
des coffrets de haut-parleur, car leurs surfaces en seraient
détériorées.

TO OBTAIN SERVICE

PUSA and POC have appointed a number of Authorized Service Companies throughout the U.S.A. and Canada should your product require service. To receive warranty service
you need to present your sales receipt or, if rented, your rental contract showing place and date of original owner’s transaction. If shipping the unit you will need to package
it carefully and send it, transportation prepaid by a traceable, insured method, to an Authorized Service Company. Package the product using adequate padding material to
prevent damage in transit. The original container is ideal for this purpose. Include your name, address and telephone number where you can be reached during business hours.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

IN THE U.S.A. - Following our response to any initial request to Customer Support, should a dispute arise between you and Pioneer, Pioneer makes available its Complaint

Resolution Program to resolve the dispute. The Complaint Resolution Program is available to you without charge. You are required to use the Complaint Resolution Program
before you exercise any rights under, or seek any remedies, created by Title I of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty-Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act, 15 U.S.C. 2301 et seq.
To use the Complaint Resolution Program call 1-800-421-1404 and explain to the customer service representative the problem you are experiencing, steps you have taken
to have the product repaired during the warranty period and the name of the authorized Distributor/Dealer from whom the Pioneer product was purchased. After the complaint
has been explained to the representative, a resolution number will be issued. Within 40 days of receiving your complaint, Pioneer will investigate the dispute and will either:
(1) respond to your complaint in writing informing you what action Pioneer will take, and in what time period, to resolve the dispute; or (2) respond to your complaint in writing
informing you why it will not take any action.

SERVICE

PUSA et POC ont désigné un certain nombre de sociétés de service autorisées partout aux États-Unis et au Canada si jamais vous avez besoin de services de réparation pour
votre produit. Pour profiter d'un tel service en vertu de la garantie, vous devez présenter votre relevé de caisse ou, si vous louez le produit, votre contrat de location indiquant
l'endroit et la date de la transaction par le premier propriétaire. Si vous expédiez l'unité, vous devez l'emballer soigneusement et l'envoyer à une société de service autorisée, en
port prépayé et selon une méthode de transport pouvant être suivie et assurée. Emballez le produit au moyen de matériaux coussinés adéquats pour éviter les dommages pendant
le transport. La boîte d'origine est idéale à cette fin. Incluez votre nom, votre adresse et un numéro de téléphone où nous pouvons vous rejoindre pendant les heures de bureau.

RÈGLEMENT DES CONFLITS

AUX ÉTATS-UNIS - Si un conflit se produit entre vous et Pioneer après la réponse à une demande initiale faite au service de Soutien à la clientèle, vous pouvez avoir recours au Programme

de résolution des plaintes de Pioneer pour résoudre le conflit. Ce programme vous est offert sans frais. Vous devez avoir recours au Programme de résolution des plaintes avant
de vous prévaloir de vos droits ou de chercher réparation en vertu du Titre I de la loi Magnuson-Moss Warranty-Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act, 15 U.S.C. 2301 et s.s.

Pour avoir recours au Programme de résolution des plaintes, appelez au 1-800-421-1404 et expliquez au représentant du service à la clientèle qui vous répondra le problème auquel
vous faites face et les démarches que vous avez entreprises pour faire réparer le produit pendant la période de garantie, puis donnez-lui le nom du distributeur / détaillant autorisé
auprès duquel vous vous êtes procuré le produit Pioneer. Une fois que votre plainte a été expliquée au représentant, un numéro de résolution vous sera communiqué. Pioneer
étudiera le conflit et, dans un délai de quarante (40) jours après la réception de votre plainte, (1) répondra à votre plainte par écrit pour vous aviser des démarches qu'elle entreprendra
pour résoudre le conflit, et indiquera combien de temps ces démarches prendront ; ou (2) répondra à votre plainte par écrit pour vous indiquer les raisons pour lesquelles elle n'entreprendra
aucune démarche.
