Safety Information
• Before operating the system, check that
the operating voltage indicated on the
typeplate (or the voltage indication
beside the voltage selector) of your
system is identical with the voltage of
your local power supply. If not, please
consult your dealer. The typeplate is
located at the rear of your system.
• When the system is switched on, do not
move it around.
• Place the system on a solid base (e.g. a cabinet).
• Place the system in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent internal heat build-up in the system.
• The system incorporates a built-in safety feature that prevents overheating.
• Do not expose the system to excessive moisture, rain, sand or heat sources.
• Under no circumstances should you repair the system yourself, as this will invalidate the warranty!
• If the system is brought directly from a cold to a warm location, or is placed in a very damp room, moisture may condense on the lens of the CD unit inside the system. Should this occur, the CD player will not operate normally. Leave the power on for about one hour with no disc in the system until normal playback is possible.
• Electrostatic discharge may cause unexpected problems. See whether these problems disappear if you unplug the AC power cord and plug it in again after a few seconds.
• To disconnect the system from the power supply completely, remove the AC power plug from the wall socket.

not used with this set.
SETTING UP FB219W
Positioning
Position the unit in a way that you are able to ”see” the active surround speaker from the position of the unit.
To avoid sound distortions caused by magnetic fields do not place the transmitter on your TV set.
Positioning the speakers
Important! To avoid overheating do not cover any vents and leave a minimum distance of 5 centimeters (2 inches) for ventilation.
General hints for positioning
Avoid positioning the speakers in a corner or on the floor, as this will boost the bass tones too much. Placing the speakers behind curtains, furniture etc. will reduce the treble response, thus reducing the stereo effect considerably. The listener should always be able to ”see” the speakers.
Each room has different acoustic characteristics and the positioning possibilities are often limited. You can find the best position for your speakers by following the picture above. The speakers should always be arranged as symmetrically as possible in the room.

MAINS
Positioning the center speaker
The center speaker should be placed in the center between both front speakers, e. g. underneath or on top of the TV. The best height for the center speaker is at the height of the listener’s ears (while seated).
Positioning the surround speakers
The surround speakers should face each other and be in line with, or at most 1.5m (4ft 6ins) behind the listener.

Adjusting the relative sound level
After installing your speakers, you will have to find a good sound balance between the surround, center and front speakers.
In the instruction booklet of your appliance you will find a section describing how to adjust the sound of the different speakers. Follow those instructions to get the most out of your new speakers.
SURROUND
Setting the input sensitivity A.B.C
Depending on which sound source you use, the signals delivered have different

strengths. If the red light on the front of the
transmitter unit starts to blink, the incoming signal is too strong. This will cause distortions. Set the A·B·C switch to adjust the input sensitivity to a lower level. If the red light on the front of the transmitter unit goes off during play, the incoming signal is not strong enough. Set
REAR
the A·B·C switch to adjust the input sensitivity to a higher level.
MAINS
Setting the transmitting channel
In case of signal interference from the transmitter it is possible to change to another transmitting channel.
1 Switch off both active surround
speakers.
2 Set the CHANNEL slide at the back of
the transmitter to another number.
3 Set the CHANNEL slide at the back of
both active surround speakers to the same number as on the transmitter.
4 Switch on both active surround speakers.
Note: – Always be sure that the transmitter and
the active surround speakers are switched to the same transmitting channel, otherwise no sound or only a distorted sound will be heard on the surround speakers.

Switching On.Standby.Off
The transmitter is equipped with a sensitive input. If there is no signal on the SUB and SURR input the transmitter and the surround speakers will switch to standby after approximately 100 seconds.
The green light on the front of the active surround speakers shows that the speakers are on. If the red light is on, the speakers has switched to standby. To switch the active speakers off, use the POWER switch.
If the red light on the front of the transmitter is off, it has switched to standby. To switch the transmitter off, unplug the AC/DC adapter from the power source.
General Information
Any amplifier or receiver used at high power can produce distortions which may seriously damage your speakers. If distortion occurs, reduce the volume and the tone control to a level where the sound is acceptable again.
When using microphones, avoid feedback which occurs when a microphone picks up sound from the speakers, resulting in a howling noise. Keep the microphone away from the speakers or reduce the volume.

Dolby Pro Logic
This state of the art Dolby Pro Logic mini system enables you to experience and enjoy a Home Cinema sound ambience. The Pro Logic system allows more accurate definition of the individual sound sources. It produces greater sound separation between channels and provides pinpoint sound localization. Pro Logic provides four sound outputs: Left, Center, Right and Surround (Rear). Front sounds are produced from the pair of Left and Right speakers and a Center speaker. The surround sound is reproduced by two speakers placed at the rear of the listening area. Although the surround sound is monaural (single-source), a pair of speakers is necessary to produce the correct diffused sound.
This Pro Logic decoder enables you to decode the following modes:
Surround, Center Phantom, Dolby 3 Stereo
or
normal Stereo
Test Tone
This feature enables you to adjust the Front Left, Front Right, Center and Surround Sound levels of the respective speakers in Dolby Pro Logic mode.
You must sit at the ideal sitting position and use the remote control to perform this operation.
