Petzl REACTIK + Quick Start Manual

Multi-beam, rechargeable, intelligent headlamp that is
connected, thanks to the MyPetzl Light mobile app. It
features REACTIVE LIGHTING technology, which
automatically adjusts brightness to the needs of the user.

REACTIVE LIGHTING
technology

The lamp features REACTIVE LIGHTING
technology. The lamp's integrated light sensor
instantly and automatically adapts the shape
and power of the beam. REACTIVE LIGHTING
technology gives you the benefit of optimal lighting
for your activities, while ensuring the minimum
chosen battery life.
For biking, use your lamp with CONSTANT
LIGHTING technology (risk of switching off with
REACTIVE LIGHTING technology).

Lamp operation

Switching on & off, selecting

When you turn on your lamp, it normally turns on
with REACTIVE LIGHTING technology (if you lock
your lamp after using red light it normally turns
on in red).
When switching between REACTIVE and
CONSTANT technologies, the lamp always turns
on in MAX AUTONOMY mode.
With REACTIVE LIGHTING technology:

- When the sensor detects an area with
sufficient light, your lamp will blink dimly for two
minutes, then automatically turns off to conserve
rechargeable battery life.

MyPetzl Light Bluetooth® mobile
application - customizing your lamp.

Access to the battery's charge level; to the lamp's
remaining burn time in hours and minutes; to
customizing lamp performance depending on
the activities, according to six preset profiles:
multi-activity, camping-backpacking, trail running,
caving, trekking and mountaineering.
By default, the lamp comes with Bluetooth
activated.
The Bluetooth® mark and logo are registered
trademarks of Bluetooth SIG Incorporated and are
used under license by Petzl.
Attention: requires iOS 7 or later, or Android 4.3
or later.

Charging the
rechargeable battery

The lamp comes with a Petzl Li-Ion rechargeable
battery. Capacity: 1800 mAh

Charge it completely before first use.
Use only a Petzl ACCU REACTIK+
rechargeable battery.

In general, Li-Ion rechargeable batteries lose 10
% of their capacity each year. After 300 charge/
discharge cycles, they still have about 70 % of their
initial capacity.

Charging the battery

Recharge only with a USB 5 V charger, for
example:

- Computers (they must be turned on and in use).

- Solar panels with a USB 5 V output (preferably
panels delivering at least 5 W or 1 A for faster
charging). Warning, protect the sensor's lens
from overexposure to the sun to avoid damaging
the sensor.

- Portable power supply.

Warning

Recharge only with a USB cable of less than 3
meters in length. The charger's output voltage
must not exceed 5 V. Use only a CE/UL approved
charger.
The USB external power supply connected to your
product must be a SELV type and be a limited
power source as defined in chapters 2.2 and 2.5
of the standards IEC 60950-1 ed.2.2 and EN
60950-1 : 2006+A11 : 2009+A1 : 2010+A12 :
2011+A2 : 2013.
When charging, the power plug should remain
easily accessible.

Recharge time

Recharge time is 5 hours with the USB charger,
or a computer. Attention, if many USB devices are
connected to your computer, the charging time can
increase (up to 24 hours).
While charging, the energy gauge blinks green,
changing to steady green when charging is
complete, and steady red in case of malfunction.

Replacing the rechargeable battery

Use only a Petzl ACCU REACTIK+ rechargeable
battery. Using another type of rechargeable battery
can damage your lamp. Do not use another type of

rechargeable battery.
For use in remote areas, the rechargeable battery
can be replaced by a standard battery case (not
included).

General info on Petzl
lamps and batteries

A. Rechargeable battery precautions

Warning, incorrect use can damage the
rechargeable battery.

- Do not submerge the rechargeable battery
in water.

- Do not put the rechargeable battery in a fire.

- Do not destroy the rechargeable battery, it can
explode or release toxic materials.

- If your rechargeable battery is damaged, do not
dismantle it or change its structure.

- If your rechargeable battery is deformed or
cracked, dispose of it in a recycling bin.

B. Lamp precautions

The lamp is not recommended for children.

Eye safety

The lamp is classified in risk group 2 (moderate
risk) according to the IEC 62471 standard.

- Do not look directly at the lamp when lit.

- The optical radiation emitted by the lamp can
be dangerous. Avoid aiming the lamp's beam into
another person's eyes.

- Risk of retinal damage from the emission of blue
light, particularly in children.

Electromagnetic compatibility

Meets the requirements of the 2004/108/CE
directive on electromagnetic compatibility.
Warning, an avalanche beacon in receive (find)
mode can experience interference when in
proximity to your headlamp. In case of interference
(indicated by static noise from the beacon), move
the beacon away from the headlamp.

C. Cleaning, drying

If used in a damp environment, remove the battery
from the lamp and dry the lamp case with the USB
port cover open. In case of contact with seawater,
rinse the lamp in fresh water and dry it.
If your lamp is dirty, clean it with a damp cloth
and let it dry.
Do not allow chemicals to come into contact with
your lamp.

D. Storage

For long-term storage, recharge the rechargeable
battery (repeat every six months) and remove
the battery from the lamp. Avoid allowing your
rechargeable battery to discharge completely. Be
sure to store your rechargeable battery in a dry
place. The ideal storage temperature is between
20 and 25° C.
After 12 months in these conditions without use,
the rechargeable battery will be discharged.

The Petzl guarantee

This lamp is guaranteed for 3 years against any
defects in materials or manufacture (except the
rechargeable battery, which is guaranteed for one
year or 300 cycles). Exclusions from the guarantee:
more than 300 charge/discharge cycles, normal
wear and tear, oxidation, modifications or
alterations, incorrect storage, poor maintenance,
damage due to accidents, to negligence, or to
improper or incorrect usage.

Responsibility

Petzl is not responsible for the consequences,
direct, indirect or accidental, or any other type
of damage befalling or resulting from the use of
its products.

Marking

(a) Model.

(e) Conforms to European requirements: Petzl
declares that this product conforms to the essential
requirements and other relevant provisions of the

Technologie REACTIVE
LIGHTING

La lampe dispose de la technologie REACTIVE
LIGHTING. La forme et la puissance du
faisceau sont adaptées instantanément, et
automatiquement, grâce au capteur de luminosité
intégré à la lampe. La technologie REACTIVE
LIGHTING vous permet de bénéficier d’un confort
d’éclairage optimum au cours de vos activités,
tout en vous garantissant au minimum l’autonomie
choisie.
À vélo, utilisez votre lampe avec la technologie
CONSTANT LIGHTING (risque d’extinction avec la
technologie REACTIVE LIGHTING).

Fonctionnement de votre
lampe

Allumer, éteindre, sélectionner

Lorsque vous allumez votre lampe, elle s’allume
systématiquement avec la technologie REACTIVE
LIGHTING (si vous verrouillez votre lampe après un
éclairage rouge, elle se rallume systématiquement
en rouge).
Lors du passage aux technologies REACTIVE
ou CONSTANT, la lampe s’allume toujours sur le
mode MAX AUTONOMY.
Avec la technologie REACTIVE LIGHTING :

- Lorsque le capteur de la lampe détecte un
milieu suffisamment éclairé, votre lampe émet
un clignotement faible pendant deux minutes,
puis s’éteint automatiquement pour préserver
l’autonomie de la batterie rechargeable.

Application mobile Bluetooth® MyPetzl
Light - personnalisation de votre lampe

Accès au niveau de charge de la batterie ; à
l’autonomie restante de la lampe, en heure et
minutes ; à la personnalisation des performances
de la lampe en fonction des activités, selon six
profils prédéfinis : multiactivité, camping-bivouac,
trail running, spéléologie, trekking et alpinisme.
La lampe est livrée, par défaut, avec le Bluetooth
activé.
La marque et le logo Bluetooth® sont des
marques déposées de Bluetooth SIG Incorporated
et leur utilisation par Petzl fait l’objet d’un accord
de licence.
Attention : nécessite IOS supérieur ou égal à 7 et
Android supérieur ou égal à 4.3.

Batterie rechargeable ­charge

La lampe est dotée d’une batterie rechargeable
Li-Ion Petzl. Capacité : 1800 mAh.

Rechargez-la complètement avant la
première utilisation.
Utilisez uniquement une batterie
rechargeable ACCU REACTIK+ Petzl.

De manière générale, les batteries rechargeables
Li-Ion perdent 10 % de leur capacité par an. Au
bout de 300 cycles de charge/décharge, elles ont
encore environ 70 % de leur capacité initiale.

Charge de la batterie

Rechargez uniquement avec un chargeur à
connexion USB 5 V, par exemple :

- Ordinateurs (ils doivent être allumés et actifs).

- Panneaux solaires à sortie USB 5 V (préférez des
panneaux délivrant au moins 5 W ou 1 A pour un
temps de charge plus court). Attention, protégez la
lentille du capteur d’une surexposition au soleil, afin
d’éviter tout dommage du capteur.

- Réserve portable d’énergie.

Attention

Rechargez uniquement par un câble USB d’une
longueur inférieure à trois mètres. La tension
délivrée par le chargeur ne doit pas dépasser 5
V. Utilisez uniquement un chargeur homologué
CE/UL.
L’alimentation externe USB connectée à votre
produit doit être de type TBTS et être une source
à puissance limitée au sens des chapitres 2.2
et 2.5 des normes IEC 60950-1 ed.2.2 et EN
60950-1 : 2006+A11 : 2009+A1 : 2010+A12 :
2011+A2 : 2013.
Lors de la recharge, la fiche de prise de courant
doit rester aisément accessible.

Temps de charge

Le temps de charge est de 5 heures sur chargeur
USB et ordinateur. Attention, la connexion

simultanée de plusieurs périphériques USB sur
votre ordinateur peut allonger le temps de charge
(jusqu’à 24 heures).
Pendant la charge, la jauge d’énergie s’allume vert
clignotant, vert fixe lorsque la charge est complète
et rouge fixe en cas de dysfonctionnement.

Remplacement de la batterie
rechargeable

Utilisez uniquement une batterie rechargeable
ACCU REACTIK+ Petzl. L’utilisation d’un autre type
de batterie rechargeable pourrait endommager
votre lampe. N’utilisez pas d’autre batterie
rechargeable.
Pour une utilisation nomade, la batterie est
remplaçable par un boîtier piles, non fourni.

Généralités lampes et
batteries Petzl

A. Précautions batterie rechargeable

Attention, un usage incorrect peut provoquer une
détérioration de la batterie rechargeable.

- Ne plongez pas la batterie rechargeable dans
l’eau.

- Ne jetez pas au feu une batterie rechargeable.

- Ne détruisez pas une batterie rechargeable, elle
peut exploser ou dégager des matières toxiques.

- Si votre batterie rechargeable est endommagée,
ne la démontez pas, ne modifiez pas sa structure.

- Si votre batterie rechargeable est déformée
ou fendue, mettez-la au rebut dans un bac de
recyclage.

B. Précautions lampe

Lampe déconseillée aux enfants.

Sécurité photobiologique de l’œil

Lampe classifiée dans le groupe de risque 2 (risque
modéré) selon la norme IEC 62471.

- Ne regardez pas fixement la lampe allumée.

- Les rayonnements optiques émis par la lampe
peuvent être dangereux. Évitez de diriger le
faisceau de la lampe dans les yeux d’une
personne.

- Risque de lésion rétinienne liée à l’émission de
lumière bleue, particulièrement chez les enfants.

Compatibilité électromagnétique

Conforme aux exigences de la directive 2004/108/
CE concernant la compatibilité électromagnétique.
Attention, votre ARVA (Appareil de Recherche de
Victimes sous Avalanche) en mode réception peut
être perturbé par la proximité de votre lampe. En
cas d’interférences (bruit parasite), éloignez l’ARVA
de la lampe.

C. Nettoyage, séchage

En cas d’utilisation en milieu humide, retirez la
batterie de la lampe et séchez le boîtier de la lampe
avec le bouchon de protection USB ouvert. En cas
de contact avec de l’eau de mer, rincez à l’eau
douce et séchez la lampe.
Si votre lampe est sale, nettoyez-la avec un chiffon
humide et laissez la sécher.
Évitez tout contact de votre lampe avec des agents
chimiques.

D. Stockage

Pour un stockage prolongé, rechargez votre
batterie rechargeable (action à renouveler tous
les six mois) et sortez la batterie de la lampe.
Évitez toute décharge complète de votre batterie
rechargeable. Veillez à stocker votre batterie
rechargeable au sec. La température idéale de
stockage est comprise entre 20 et 25° C.
Dans ces conditions, au bout de 12 mois
sans utilisation, votre batterie rechargeable est
déchargée.

Garantie Petzl

Cette lampe est garantie pendant 3 ans (hors
batterie rechargeable garantie un an ou 300 cycles)
contre tout défaut de matière ou de fabrication.
Limite de la garantie : plus de 300 cycles de
charge/décharge, l’usure normale, l’oxydation, les
modifications ou retouches, le mauvais stockage,
le mauvais entretien, les dommages dus aux
accidents, aux négligences, aux utilisations pour
lesquelles ce produit n’est pas destiné.

Responsabilité

Petzl n’est pas responsable des conséquences
directes, indirectes, accidentelles ou de tout autre
type de dommages survenus ou résultants de
l’utilisation de ce produit.
