Les enfants ne doivent pas porter de casque à jugulaire
dans des situations où il y a un risque d’accrocher la
jugulaire afin d’éviter tout risque de strangulation.

Aucun casque ne peut protéger contre tous les impacts et
éviter tous types de blessures ou mort causées par un
choc. Pour une protection maximale le casque doit être
ajusté et attaché correctement conformément aux
instructions d’ajustement du fabricant. Après un choc,
un casque peut être endommagé, sans signe visible de
dommages, et peut ne plus assurer sa fonction de
protection. Après un choc, un casque doit être retourné
au fabricant pour inspection, ou être détruit et remplacé.
Un casque peut être endommagé par un contact avec des
substances chimiques (solvant comme acétone,
ammoniac...) et ces dommages peuvent ne pas être
visibles par l’utilisateur. Nettoyez votre casque
uniquement à l’eau savonneuse.

Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch

- Helm zum Sportklettern, Bergsteigen, für die Speläologie, zum Canyoning, für
Klettersteige und andere vertikale Aktivitäten mit ähnlichen Techniken.

- Helm zum Fahrradfahren.
Verwenden Sie diesen Helm nicht für Aktivitäten, für die er nicht entworfen wurde.
Das Tragen eines Helmes kann die mit diesen Aktivitäten verbundenen Risiken zwar
deutlich reduzieren, jedoch nicht ausschließen.
Im Falle eines extremen Schlags muss der Helm ein Maximum an Energie
absorbieren. Dies geschieht durch Verformung, was bis zum Bruch des Helms
führen kann.

Materialien

Helmschale aus Acrylbutadienstyrol (ABS), Innenschale aus High-Density-
Polystyrolschaum, Gurtband aus Polyester.

Überprüfung, zu kontrollierende Punkte

Stellen Sie vor jeder Verwendung sicher, dass die innere Helmschale aus Polystyrol
und die äußere Helmschale nicht gebrochen oder deformiert sind, dass Riemen,
Nähte und das Befestigungssystem für das Kopfband unbeschädigt sind und
dass das Einstellsystem für das Kopfband und die Kinnschnalle einwandfrei
funktionieren.
WARNUNG: Ein schwerer Schlag kann den Helm so beschädigen, dass dessen
Schutzeigenschaften beträchtlich einschränkt sind und dies für das bloße Auge
nicht sichtbar ist. Sondern Sie Ihren Helm nach einem solchen Zwischenfall aus.
Die genauen Anleitungen zur Überprüfung der einzelnen PSA-Komponenten
(Persönliche Schutzausrüstung) finden Sie im Internet unter www.petzl.com/ppe.

Vorbereitung und Einstellung

Setzen Sie Ihrem Kind den Helm auf den Kopf, drücken Sie die beiden Clips zum
Einstellen des Kopfbandes(4) zusammen und ziehen Sie das Kopfband fest, so
dass der Helm bequem und fest auf dem Kopf sitzt.

- Positionieren Sie die Kinnbandeinstellung(5) unterhalb der Ohren. Für
eine Einstellung nach vorne oder hinten schieben Sie den Riemen durch die
Kinnbandeinstellung.

- Befestigen Sie das Kinnband mit der Schnalle. Wenn die Schnalle richtig einrastet,
hören Sie ein „Klick“. Das Kinnband sollte fest aber bequem anliegen. Ein genau
angepasstes Kinnband sorgt dafür, dass der Helm nicht versehentlich vom Kopf
rutschen kann.

- Ziehen Sie am Kinnband, um sicherzustellen, dass die Schnalle richtig
verschlossen ist.

- Um die Schnalle(6) zu öffnen, drücken Sie wie in der Abbildung auf die beiden
Seiten.

Funktionsprüfung

Vergessen Sie nicht, sich zu vergewissern, dass der Helm gut und mittig auf
dem Kopf Ihres Kindes sitzt. Je besser der Sitz eines Helms eingestellt ist (so
dass er möglichst wenig „herumrutscht“), desto besser ist seine Schutzwirkung.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass er richtig eingestellt ist, und dass Riemen sowie
Kinnband festgezogen sind (der Helm darf sich so wenig wie möglich nach vorne,
hinten und zur Seite bewegen).
BENUTZEN SIE DIESEN HELM NICHT, wenn Sie ihn nicht korrekt einstellen können.
Tauschen Sie ihn in diesem Fall gegen eine andere Größe oder ein anderes Modell
aus.

Vorsichtsmaßnahmen

- WARNUNG, Kinder sollten diesen Helm nicht bei Aktivitäten tragen, bei denen

Field of application

- Helmet for climbing, mountaineering, caving, canyoning, viaferrata and vertical
sports using similar techniques.

- Helmet for cycling.
Do not use this helmet in activities for which it is not designed.
Wearing a helmet can significantly reduce the risks associated with these activities,
but cannot entirely eliminate them.
In a major impact, the helmet deforms to absorb the maximum amount of energy
possible, sometimes to the point of destroying the helmet.

bicycle helmets

Limited impact protection

- A helmet can not always protect you from injury. Serious injury or death can
result from even a mnor accident. The greater the speed and/or fall distance
involved in an accident, the less protection will be provided by the helmet. Any
helmet that has sustained a major impact should be destroyed and retired, even
though damage may not be visible to the eye.

- A helmet can only protect what it covers. It does not protect the neck or any part
of the head that it does not cover. It can not protect against spinal or other bodily
injuries that may result from an accident.

Strangulation warning

The helmet should be worn by the child only when engaged in activities described
in the Field of Application; it should not be worn when the child is engaging in
other activities. There is a danger of strangulation if the helmet is worn where
constrictions are present (for example, in a narrow cave passage, a tree, or on
playground equipment with narrow openings). The helmet can become jammed in
a constriction and strangulation by the chin strap could result.

Message to parents

This helmet is NOT a toy. DO NOT let your children play with it. They can
accidentally damage it or injure themselves. You should thoroughly review
this notice with your child, so that he or she can better understand the usage
capabilities and limitations of the helmet.

Inspection, points to verify

Before each use, verify that there are no cracks or deformities on the inside or
outside of the shell and the internal liner, check that the straps, stitching, and the
headband attachment system are undamaged, and that the headband adjustment
system and chinstrap buckle are working properly.
WARNING, a major impact to the helmet can significantly reduce its protective
properties without leaving visible signs of damage. Retire your helmet after a major
impact.

Putting on and adjustments

Put the helmet on your child’s head, pinch the two headband adjustment clips(4)
and tighten the headband to fit comfortably.

- Position the adjusters(5) under the ears. To adjust the chinstrap backwards or
forwards, slide the webbing through the adjusters.

- Fasten the chinstrap using the buckle. You must hear the buckle “click” to ensure
proper fastening. Tighten the chinstrap to fit comfortably. A correctly adjusted
chinstrap reduces the risk of the helmet coming off accidentally.

- You must pull on the chinstrap to verify that the buckle is properly fastened.

- To open the buckle(6), press the twosides as shown.

Functional test

Do not forget to check that your child’s helmet is correctly fastened and centered
on the head. A well-adjusted helmet (minimal movement front to back or side to
side), provides better protection. Make sure that it is correctly adjusted, that the
webbing straps, the chin strap and head band are properly tightened (minimal
movement of the helmet to the front, rear and side).
DO NOT USE THIS HELMET if you are unable to adjust it to fit properly. Replace it
with a helmet of a different size or model.

Precautions for use

- WARNING, children should not use this helmet in situations where the helmet
may become snagged (for example, in a tight cave passage or on playground
equipment) as this poses a risk of strangulation or hanging by the chinstrap.

- Your helmet can be damaged from improper care. Do not sit on it, pack it too
tightly, drop it, allow it to contact sharp or pointed objects,etc.
Do not expose your helmet to high temperatures, for example by leaving it inside a
vehicle in direct sunlight.

- Use stickers supplied by Petzl. Paint and stickers may contain materials that, with

time, can alter the physical properties of the helmet. Before applying any of these
products, verify their compatibility with Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene.

- Certain chemical products, especially solvents, can damage your helmet. Protect
your helmet.

Petzl general information

Lifetime/ When to retire your equipment

For Petzl plastic and textile products, the maximum lifetime is 10years from the
date of manufacture. It is indefinite for metallic products.
ATTENTION:an exceptional event can lead you to retire a product after only
one use, depending on the type and intensity of usage and the environment of
usage (harsh environments, sea, sharp edges, extreme temperatures, chemical
products,etc.).
A product must be retired when:

- It is over 10years old and made of plastic or textiles.

- It has been subjected to a major fall (or load).

- It fails to pass inspection. You have any doubt as to its reliability.

- You do not know its full usage history.

- When it becomes obsolete due to changes in legislation, standards, technique or
incompatibility with other equipment,etc.

Destroy retired equipment to prevent further use.

Product inspection

In addition to the inspection before each use, an in-depth inspection must be
carried out by a competent inspector. The frequency of the in-depth inspection
must be governed by applicable legislation, and the type and the intensity of use.
Petzl recommends an inspection at least once every 12months.
To help maintain product traceability, do not remove any markings or labels.
Inspection results should be recorded on a form with the following details:type
of equipment, model, manufacturer contact information, serial or individual
number; dates of:manufacture, purchase, first use, next periodic inspection;
notes:problems, comments; name and signature of the inspector.

Storage, transport

Store the product in a dry place away from exposure to UV, chemicals, extreme
temperatures,etc. Clean and dry the product if necessary.

Modifications, repairs

Modifications and repairs outside of Petzl facilities are prohibited (except
replacement parts).

3-year guarantee

Against all material or manufacturing defect. Exclusions:normal wear and tear,
oxidation, modifications or alterations, incorrect storage, poor maintenance,
negligence, uses for which this product is not designed.

Responsibility

PETZL is not responsible for the consequences, direct, indirect or accidental, or
any other type of damage befalling or resulting from the use of its products.

Contrôle, points à vérifier

Avant toute utilisation, vérifiez l’étatdela calotte (absence de fissures,
déformations à l’extérieur ou à l’intérieur de la coque en polystyrène), les sangles
et les coutures, le système de fixation du tour de tête, le fonctionnement du réglage
tour de tête et le fonctionnement de la boucle de la jugulaire.
ATTENTION, après un choc important, des ruptures internes non apparentes
peuvent diminuer la capacité d’absorption et la résistance du casque. Mettez votre
casque au rebut après un choc important.

Mise en place et réglages

Schéma1. Tour de tête

Placez le casque sur la tête de votre enfant, pincez les deux clips de réglage(4) et
serrez le tour de tête pour une tenue confortable.

Schéma2. Jugulaire

- Positionnez les boucles(5) sous les oreilles. Pour ajuster la jugulaire (avant­arrière) faites coulisser la sangle dans les boucles.

- Fermez la jugulaire à l’aide de la boucle de serrage rapide. Vous devez entendre
un clic de blocage. Serrez la jugulaire de façon confortable. Une jugulaire bien
serrée limite le risque de décoiffement.

- Vous devez tirer sur la jugulaire pour vérifier que la boucle est bien fermée.

- Pour ouvrir la boucle(6), pressez les deuxpoussoirs latéraux.

Test fonctionnel

N’oubliez pas de vérifier si le casque de votre enfant est bien fixé et centré sur la
tête. Au mieux un casque est ajusté, au mieux il assure la sécurité (mouvement
avant, arrière, latéral réduit au maximum). Assurez-vous qu’il est bien ajusté, que
les sangles, la jugulaire et le tour de tête sont convenablement serrés (mouvements
avant, arrière et latéral réduits le plus possible).
N’UTILISEZ PAS CE CASQUE si vous ne parvenez pas à l’ajuster correctement.
Remplacez-le par un casque d’une taille ou d’un modèle différent.

Précautions d’usage

- ATTENTION, il est déconseillé aux enfants d’utiliser ce casque dans des situations
présentant un risque de strangulation, ou pendaison, au cas où ils resteraient
accrochés par leur casque (par exemple :passages étroits, aires de jeux).

- Les casques sont sensibles aux mauvais traitements. Ne vous asseyez pas
dessus, ne les comprimez pas dans le sac, ne les laissez pas tomber, ne les mettez
pas en contact avec des objets pointus ou coupants…
N’exposez pas votre casque à des températures élevées par exemple en plein soleil
dans une voiture.

- Utilisez les autocollants fournis par Petzl. Les colles des autocollants ou les
peintures ont parfois des composants qui peuvent avec le temps altérer les qualités
physiques du casque. Vérifiez la compatibilité de ces produits avec l’Acrilo­Butadiène-Styrène.

- Certains produits chimiques en particulier les solvants altèrent les qualités
physiques de votre casque. Protégez votre casque.

Généralités Petzl

Durée de vie/ Mise au rebut

Pour les produits Petzl plastique et textile, la durée de vie maximale est de 10ans à
partir de la date de fabrication. Elle n’est pas limitée pour les produits métalliques.
ATTENTION, un événement exceptionnel peut vous conduire à rebuter un
produit après une seule utilisation (type et intensité d’utilisation, environnement
d’utilisation :milieux agressifs, milieu marin, arêtes coupantes, températures
extrêmes, produits chimiques,etc).
Un produit doit être rebuté quand :

- Il a plus de 10ans et est composé de plastique ou textile.

- Il a subi une chute importante (ou effort).

- Le résultat des vérifications du produit n’est pas satisfaisant. Vous avez un doute
sur sa fiabilité.

- Vous ne connaissez pas son historique complet d’utilisation.

- Quand son usage est obsolète (évolution législative, normative, technique ou
incompatibilité avec d’autres équipements,etc).

Détruisez ces produits pour éviter une future utilisation.

Vérification du produit

En plus des contrôles avant chaque utilisation, faites réaliser une vérification
approfondie par un vérificateur compétent. Cette fréquence de la vérification
doit être adaptée en fonction de la législation applicable, du type et de l’intensité
d’utilisation. Petzl vous conseille une vérification au minimum tous les 12mois.
Ne retirez pas les étiquettes et marquages pour garder la traçabilité du produit.
Les résultats des vérifications doivent être enregistrés sur une fiche de suivi :type,
modèle, coordonnées fabricant, numéro de série ou numéro individuel,
dates :fabrication, achat, première utilisation, prochains examens périodiques;
notes :défauts, remarques; nom et signature du contrôleur.

Stockage, transport

Stockez le produit au sec à l’abri des UV, produits chimiques, dans un endroit
tempéré,etc. Nettoyez et séchez le produit si nécessaire.

Modifications, réparations

Les modifications et réparations sont interdites hors des ateliers de Petzl (sauf
pièces de rechange).

Garantie 3ans

Contre tout défaut de matière ou fabrication. Sont exclus :usure normale,
oxydation, modifications ou retouches, mauvais stockage, mauvais entretien,
négligences, utilisations pour lesquelles ce produit n’est pas destiné.

Responsabilité

PETZL n’est pas responsable des conséquences directes, indirectes, accidentelles
ou de tout autre type de dommages survenus ou résultant de l’utilisation de ses
produits.
