This unit is an additional handset compatible with the following series of
Panasonic Digital Cordless Phone:
KX-PRL250EX1/KX-PRD250EX1
(The corresponding models are subject to change without notice.)
You must register this handset with your base unit before it can be used.
This installation manual describes only the steps needed to register and
begin using the handset. Please read the base unit’s operating instructions
for further details.

Setting up

Connections

Connect the AC adaptor plug to the unit until you hear a click.
Connect the AC adaptor to the power outlet.

Note:

R For KX-PRLA20E: Use only the supplied Panasonic AC adaptor PNLV233E.

For KX-PRLA20EX: Use only the supplied Panasonic AC adaptor PNLV233CE.

R The AC adaptor must remain connected at all times. (It is normal for the adaptor

to feel warm during use.)

Battery installation/Battery charging

Important:

R Use the supplied rechargeable batteries. For replacement, we recommend using

the Panasonic rechargeable batteries noted in the base unit’s operating
instructions.

R USE ONLY rechargeable Ni-MH batteries AAA (R03) size (

R Do NOT use Alkaline/Manganese/Ni-Cd batteries.
R Confirm correct polarities (

Note:

R The handset display may show “Please wait for 1 minute.” when the

handset is placed on the charger if it is not registered to the base unit.

R If the batteries are fully charged, but the operating time seems to be shorter,

clean the battery ends (

, ) and the charge contacts with a dry cloth and

charge again.

Registering the handset to the base unit

Ensure that the handset is switched on. If it is not on, press and hold M

N for few

seconds to turn the handset on.

1 Handset:

Lift the handset and press M

N.

2 Base unit:

Press and hold M

N for about 5 seconds.

R If all registered handsets start ringing, press M

N again to stop, then repeat

this step.

3 Handset:

Place the handset on the base unit or charger.

R Continue the operation even when the handset display shows “Please

wait for 1 minute.”.

4 With the handset still on the base unit or charger, wait until a confirmation tone

sounds and

is displayed.

R If an error tone sounds, or if

is displayed, register the handset according to

For your safety

To prevent severe injury and loss of life/property, read this section carefully before
using the product to ensure proper and safe operation of your product.

WARNING

Power connection

R Completely insert the AC adaptor/power plug into the power outlet. Failure to do

so may cause electric shock and/or excessive heat resulting in a fire.

R Regularly remove any dust, etc. from the AC adaptor/power plug by pulling it

from the power outlet, then wiping with a dry cloth. Accumulated dust may cause
an insulation defect from moisture, etc. resulting in a fire.

R Unplug the product from power outlets if it emits smoke, an abnormal smell, or

makes an unusual noise. These conditions can cause fire or electric shock.
Confirm that smoke has stopped emitting and contact an authorised service
centre.

Installation

R To prevent the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not expose the product to rain

or any type of moisture.

R Do not place or use this product near automatically controlled devices such as

automatic doors and fire alarms. Radio waves emitted from this product may
cause such devices to malfunction resulting in an accident.

CAUTION

Installation and location

R The AC adaptor is used as the main disconnect device. Ensure that the AC

outlet is installed near the product and is easily accessible.

Battery

R We recommend using the supplied batteries or additional/replacement batteries

noted in the base unit’s operating instructions for replacement battery
information. USE ONLY rechargeable Ni-MH batteries AAA (R03) size.

R Do not mix old and new batteries.
R Do not open or mutilate the batteries. Released electrolyte from the batteries is

corrosive and may cause burns or injury to the eyes or skin. The electrolyte is
toxic and may be harmful if swallowed.

R Exercise care when handling the batteries. Do not allow conductive materials

such as rings, bracelets, or keys to touch the batteries, otherwise a short circuit

may cause the batteries and/or the conductive material to overheat and cause
burns.

R Charge the batteries provided with or identified for use with this product only, in

accordance with the instructions and limitations specified in this manual.

R Only use a compatible base unit (or charger) to charge the batteries. Do not

tamper with the base unit (or charger). Failure to follow these instructions may
cause the batteries to swell or explode.

Important safety instructions

When using your product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

1. Do not use this product near water for example, near a bathtub, washbowl,
kitchen sink, or laundry tub, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool.

2. Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.

3. Use only the power cord and batteries indicated in this manual. Do not dispose
of batteries in a fire. They may explode. Check with local codes for possible
special disposal instructions.

R Das Netzteil muss stets angeschlossen bleiben. (Es ist normal, dass sich das Netzteil

während des Betriebes warm anfühlt.)

Einsetzen des Akkus/Aufladen des Akkus

Wenn die Sprachauswahl nach dem erstmaligen Einsetzen der Akkus angezeigt wird, kön­nen Sie die gewünschte Sprache auswählen.

Wichtig:

R Verwenden Sie die mitgelieferten Akkus. Zum Austausch empfehlen wir die Akkus von

Panasonic, die in der Bedienungsanleitung der Basisstation genannt werden.

R VERWENDEN SIE NUR Ni-MH-Akkus der Größe AAA (R03) (1).
R Verwenden Sie KEINE Alkali-/Mangan-/Ni-Cd-Batterien.
R Achten Sie auf richtige Polung ( , ).

Für ca. 7 Stunden Aufladen.

R Achten Sie darauf, dass “Ladend” angezeigt wird (2).

Hinweis:

R Im Display des Mobilteils kann “Bitte 1 Minute warten.” angezeigt werden, wenn

das Mobilteil auf das Ladegerät gelegt wird und nicht an der Basisstation registriert ist.

R Wenn die Akkus vollständig geladen sind, aber die Betriebszeit dennoch kurz zu sein

scheint, wischen Sie die Pole des Akkus ( , ) und die Kontakte des Geräts mit
einem trockenen Tuch ab und wiederholen Sie den Ladevorgang.

Registrieren des Mobilteils an der Basisstation

Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Mobilteil eingeschaltet ist. Andernfalls halten Sie M N einige
Sekunden gedrückt, um das Mobilteil einzuschalten.

1 Mobilteil:

Nehmen Sie das Mobilteil ab, und drücken Sie M N.

2 Basisstation:

Halten Sie M N ca. 5 Sekunden gedrückt.
R Wenn alle registrierten Mobilteile zu klingeln beginnen, drücken Sie wieder M N,

um den Vorgang zu beenden, und wiederholen Sie diesen Schritt.

3 Mobilteil:

Legen Sie das Mobilteil auf die Basisstation oder das Ladegerät.

R Fahren Sie mit der Bedienung fort, auch wenn das Display des Mobilteils “Bitte 1

Minute warten.” anzeigt.

4 Lassen Sie das Mobilteil auf der Basisstation oder der Ladeschale liegen und warten

Sie, bis ein Bestätigungssignal ertönt und angezeigt wird.

R Wenn ein Fehlersignal ertönt oder angezeigt wird, registrieren Sie das Mobilteil

entsprechend der Bedienungsanleitung der Basisstation.

Sicherheitshinweise

Lesen Sie diesen Abschnitt vor Inbetriebnahme des Produkts sorgfältig durch, um ernsthafte
bzw. lebensgefährliche Verletzungen oder Sachbeschädigungen zu vermeiden und einen
ordnungsgemäßen und sicheren Betrieb zu gewährleisten.

WARNUNG

Stromanschluss

R Das Netzteil/den Netzstecker vollständig in die Steckdose einsetzen. Nichtbeachten kann

elektrische Schläge und/oder übermäßige Wärme verursachen und zu Bränden führen.

R Entfernen Sie regelmäßig Staub usw. vom Netzteil/Netzstecker, indem Sie den

Netzstecker aus der Steckdose ziehen und Netzteil und -stecker mit einem trockenen
Tuch abwischen. Staub, der sich angesammelt hat, kann fehlerhafte Isolierung durch
Feuchtigkeit usw. verursachen und zu Bränden führen.

R Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker des Produkts aus der Steckdose, wenn es Rauch entwickelt,

einen anormalen Geruch verströmt oder ungewöhnliche Geräusche von sich gibt. Diese
Bedingungen können Brände oder elektrische Schläge auslösen. Warten Sie, bis das
Gerät nicht mehr raucht, und wenden Sie sich an eine autorisierte Kundendienststelle.

R Um Feuer und elektrische Schläge zu vermeiden, sollten Sie dieses Gerät niemals

Regen oder Feuchtigkeit aussetzen.

Akku

R Wir empfehlen die mitgelieferten Akkus oder die zusätzlichen bzw. Ersatzakkus, die in

der Bedienungsanleitung der Basisstation zum Austausch von Akkus genannt werden.
VERWENDEN SIE NUR Ni-MH-Akkus der Größe AAA (R03).

R Verwenden Sie keine alten und neuen Akkus zusammen.
R Öffnen und beschädigen Sie die Akkus nicht. Freigesetzter Elektrolyt aus den Akkus ist

korrosiv und kann Verbrennungen oder Verletzungen an Augen und Haut hervorrufen.
Der Elektrolyt ist toxisch und kann bei Verschlucken zu Verletzungen führen.

R Lassen Sie im Umgang mit den Akkus Vorsicht walten. Lassen Sie keine leitenden

Materialien, wie beispielsweise Ringe, Armbänder oder Schlüssel die Akkus berühren, da
dies zu einem Kurzschluss führen kann, bei dem sich die Akkus und/oder die leitenden
Materialien überhitzen und somit Verbrennungen verursachen können.

R Laden Sie die im Lieferumfang enthaltenen oder speziell für dieses Produkt

angegebenen Akkus nur gemäß den Anweisungen und Einschränkungen in diesem
Handbuch.

R Verwenden Sie zum Laden der Akkus nur eine kompatible Basisstation (bzw. Ladegerät).

Nehmen Sie keine Änderungen an der Basisstation (bzw. am Ladegerät) vor. Die
Nichtbefolgung dieser Anweisungen kann zum Aufquellen oder Explodieren der Akkus
führen.

Wichtige Sicherheitshinweise

Bei der Verwendung des Produkts müssen immer grundlegende Sicherheitsregeln beachtet
werden, um das Risiko von Feuer, elektrischen Schlägen und Verletzungen zu reduzieren.
Beachten Sie dabei Folgendes:

1. Verwenden Sie dieses Produkt nicht in der Nähe von Wasser, beispielsweise nahe einer

Conecte el adaptador de CA a la toma de corriente.

R El adaptador de CA deberá permanecer conectado en todo momento. (Es normal que

note que se calienta durante la utilización.)

Instalación/carga de la batería

Cuando aparezca la selección de idioma tras instalar las pilas por primera vez, podrá ele­gir el idioma que desee.

MbN: Seleccione el idioma deseado. a MOKN a M N

Importante:

R Utilice las pilas recargables suministradas. Para el recambio, se recomienda el uso de las

pilas recargables de Panasonic indicadas en el manual de instrucciones de la unidad
base.

R UTILICE SOLO pilas Ni-MH recargables de tamaño AAA (R03) (1).
R NO utilice pilas alcalinas, de manganeso ni Ni-Cd.
R Compruebe que las polaridades son las correctas ( , ).

Cárguelo unas 7 horas.

R Verifique que aparece el mensaje “Cargando” (2).
R Cuando las pilas se han cargado completamente, aparece “Fin carga”.

Nota:

R Si la unidad portátil no está registrada en la unidad base, puede que la pantalla de la

misma muestre “Espere 1 minuto” al colocar la unidad portátil en el cargador.

R Si las pilas están cargadas por completo pero el tiempo de funcionamiento parece corto,

limpie los polos de las pilas ( , ) y los contactos de carga con un paño seco y
vuelva a cargarlas.

Registro de la unidad portátil en la unidad base

Asegúrese de que la unidad portátil está encendida. En caso de que esté apagada, pulse la
tecla M N y manténgala pulsada durante unos segundos para activar la unidad portátil.

1 Unidad portátil:

Levante la unidad portátil adicional y pulse M N.

2 Unidad base:

Mantenga pulsado M N durante 5 segundos.
R Si suenan todas las unidades portátiles registradas, pulse M N de nuevo para

detenerlas y repita este paso.

3 Unidad portátil:

Coloque la unidad portátil en la unidad base o en el cargador.
R Continúe con el funcionamiento incluso si la pantalla de la unidad portátil muestra

“Espere 1 minuto”.

4 Con la unidad portátil todavía en la unidad base o en el cargador, espere hasta que

suene el tono de confirmación y se muestre en la pantalla.

ADVERTENCIA

Conexión de alimentación

R Introduzca completamente el adaptador de CA y el enchufe de alimentación en la toma

de corriente. De lo contrario, puede producirse una descarga eléctrica o calor excesivo
que provoque un incendio.

R Elimine con frecuencia el polvo, etc. del adaptador de CA y del enchufe de alimentación

desenchufándolos de la toma de corriente y pasando, a continuación, un trapo seco
sobre ellos. El polvo acumulado puede provocar un insuficiente aislamiento contra la
humedad, etc. y dar lugar a un incendio.

R Desenchufe el producto de las tomas de corriente si este expulsa humo, un olor extraño

o hace un ruido anormal. Estas situaciones pueden provocar un incendio o descarga
eléctrica. Compruebe que ha dejado de salir humo y póngase en contacto con un centro
de servicio técnico autorizado.

de CA esté instalada cerca del producto y que sea fácilmente accesible.

Batería

R Se recomienda el uso de las pilas suministradas, o bien de otras adicionales o de

recambio indicadas en el manual de instrucciones de la unidad base, donde también
puede obtener información sobre el recambio de las mismas. UTILICE SOLO pilas
Ni-MH recargables de tamaño AAA (R03).

R No mezcle pilas viejas y nuevas.
R No abra ni rompa las pilas. El electrolito que se desprendería es corrosivo y puede

provocar quemaduras o lesiones en los ojos o la piel. El electrolito es tóxico y podría
resultar nocivo en caso de ingestión.

R Tenga cuidado al manipular las pilas. Tenga cuidado de no provocar cortocircuitos con

materiales conductivos como anillos, pulseras o llaves. Las pilas y los conductores
pueden recalentarse y provocar quemaduras.

R Cargue las pilas proporcionadas o identificadas para su uso con este producto según las

instrucciones y limitaciones especificadas en este manual.

R Utilice solo la unidad base compatible (o cargador) para cargar las pilas. No manipule la

unidad base (o cargador). En caso de no seguir estas instrucciones las pilas podrían
hincharse o explotar.

Instrucciones de seguridad importantes

Cuando utilice el producto, debe respetar las precauciones de seguridad básicas para
reducir el riesgo de incendio, descarga eléctrica y daños personales, incluidos los siguientes:

1. No utilice esta unidad cerca del agua, por ejemplo cerca de una bañera, el lavabo, el

Installazione batteria/Carica delle batterie

In seguito alla prima installazione delle batterie, è possibile selezionare la lingua desidera­ta nella schermata di selezione della lingua.

Importante:

R Utilizzare le batterie ricaricabili in dotazione. Per la sostituzione delle batterie, si consiglia

l’utilizzo delle batterie ricaricabili Panasonic riportate nel manuale d’uso dell’unità base.

R UTILIZZARE ESCLUSIVAMENTE batterie ricaricabili Ni-MH di tipo AAA (R03) (1).
R NON utilizzare batterie alcaline/manganese o Ni-Cd.
R Verificare che le polarità siano corrette ( , ).

Caricare per circa 7 ore.

R Verificare che sia visualizzato “In carica” (2).
R Quando le batterie sono state completamente ricaricate, viene visualizzato “Fine

carica”.

Nota:

R Sul display del portatile può essere visualizzato “Attendere per 1 minuto.” se il

portatile viene collocato sul caricatore senza essere registrato nell’unità base.

R Se le batterie sono state completamente ricaricate ma la durata operativa risulta

comunque breve, pulire le estremità della batteria ( , ) e i contatti dell’unità con un
panno asciutto e ricaricarle.

Registrazione del portatile sull’unità base

Assicurarsi che il portatile sia acceso. Se non lo è, tenere premuto M N per alcuni secondi
per accendere il portatile.

1 Portatile:

Sollevare il portatile e premere M N.

2 Unità base:

Premere e tenere premuto M N per circa 5 secondi.
R Se tutti i portatili registrati iniziano a suonare, premere di nuovo M N per

interrompere l’azione, quindi ripetere questo passaggio.

3 Portatile:

Collocare il portatile sull’unità base o sul caricatore.

R Continuare l’operazione anche se il display del portatile indica “Attendere per 1

minuto.”.

4 Con il portatile ancora sull’unità base o sul caricatore, attendere che venga emesso un

tono di conferma e che sia visualizzato .

R Se viene emesso un tono di errore o se viene visualizzato , registrare il portatile in

base alle istruzioni per l’uso dell’unità base.

Per la sicurezza dell’utente

Per evitare lesioni gravi, decesso o danni alla proprietà, leggere attentamente questa
sezione prima di utilizzare il prodotto, al fine di assicurare un funzionamento appropriato e
sicuro del prodotto.

AVVERTENZA

Collegamento all’alimentazione elettrica

R Inserire completamente l’adattatore CA/spina di alimentazione nella presa di corrente. In

caso contrario, esistono rischi di scossa elettrica e/o calore eccessivo con eventuali rischi
di incendio.

R Rimuovere regolarmente ogni traccia di polvere, ecc. dall’adattatore CA e dalla spina di

alimentazione estraendoli dalla presa di corrente e pulendoli con un panno asciutto.
L’accumulo di polvere può causare un mancato isolamento dall’umidità, ecc. con
conseguente rischio di incendio.

R Staccare il prodotto dalle prese di corrente se emette fumo, un odore anomalo o dei

rumori insoliti. Queste situazioni possono generare un incendio o una scossa elettrica.
Assicurarsi che non vi sia più emissione di fumo e contattare il centro servizi autorizzato.

R Per evitare il rischio di incendio o scosse elettriche, non esporre questo apparecchio a

pioggia o a qualsiasi forma di umidità.

R Non collocare o utilizzare questo prodotto accanto a dispositivi ad azionamento

automatico quali porte automatiche o allarmi antincendio. Le onde radio emesse da
questo prodotto possono causare il funzionamento difettoso di tali dispositivi con
conseguente rischio di incidenti.

Batterie

R Si consiglia di utilizzare le batterie in dotazione o le batterie aggiuntive/di ricambio

riportate nel manuale d’uso dell’unità base nelle informazioni di sostituzione delle batterie.
UTILIZZARE ESCLUSIVAMENTE batterie ricaricabili Ni-MH di tipo AAA (R03).

R Non utilizzare contemporaneamente batterie vecchie e nuove.
R Non aprire o modificare le batterie. L’elettrolita eventualmente fuoriuscito dalle batterie è

corrosivo e può causare bruciature o lesioni agli occhi e alla pelle. L’elettrolita è tossico e
risulta nocivo in caso di ingestione.

R Prestare attenzione quando si maneggiano le batterie. Evitare che materiali conduttivi

quali anelli, braccialetti o chiavi entrino a contatto con le batterie, altrimenti vi sono rischi
di cortocircuitazione e surriscaldamento delle batterie e/o del materiale conduttivo con
conseguente pericolo di ustioni.

R Caricare le batterie in dotazione o le batterie compatibili con questo prodotto

esclusivamente in base alle istruzioni e alle limitazioni specificate in questo manuale.

R Per caricare le batterie, utilizzare esclusivamente una unità base compatibile (o

caricatore). Non manomettere l’unità base (o il caricatore). La mancata osservanza di
queste istruzioni può comportare rischi di dilatazione o esplosione delle batterie.

Istruzioni importanti di sicurezza

Quando si utilizza il prodotto, è necessario attenersi sempre alle seguenti precauzioni
comuni di sicurezza per ridurre i rischi di incendio, scosse elettriche e lesioni personali:

1. Non utilizzare questo prodotto in prossimità di acqua, ad esempio accanto a vasche da
bagno, lavabi e lavandini, in un ambiente umido o nelle vicinanze di una piscina.
