Important Safeguards
When using electrical appliances, basic safety instructions should always be followed including the following:
l
Read all instructions before using the hand mixer.
* To protect against risk of electrical shock do not put
hand mlxer In water or other liquid.
l
Close supervislon is necessary when hand mixer is used
by or near children.
l
Unplug from outlet while not in use, before putting on or
taking off parts and before cleaning.
l
Avoid contacting moving parts. Keep hands, hair, cloth-
ing as well as spatulas and other utensils away from
beaters during operation to reduce the risk of injury to persons and/or damage to the hand mixer.
l
Do not operate hand mixer with a damaged cord or plug
or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return
appliance to the nearest Sunbeam-Oster Household
Products authorized independent service station for examination, repair or electrical or
mechanical adjustment.
l
The use of attachments not recommended or sold by
Sunbeam-Oster Household Products may cause fire, electrical shock or injury.
l
Do not use outdoors.
l
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or
touch hot surfaces, including the stove.
l
Remove beaters from hand mixer before washing.
l
Do not place hand mlxer on or near a hot burner, or in a
heated oven.
l
Do not use hand mixer for other than intended use.
l

Features
The Oster Designer hand mitier has been designed to assist you in preparing delicious foods. The
different speeds enable you to thoroughly mix ingredients. The location of the beater ejector makes it easy for you to remove the beaters. The unit has
been designed for easy storage, too.
Using Your Hand Mker
Before using the mixer, wash beaters in hot soapy
water. Rinse and dry.
Be.sure speed control is in the OFF position and ucpiugged from an electrical outlet. insert beaters
one at a time, by placing stem end of beaters into opening on bottom of the mixer. Turn beater slightly and push in until beater clicks into position. Plug cord
into 120 volt, 60 Hz, A.C. electrical outlet.
Mixing:
Slowly guide mixer around sides and through center of bowl, going in the same direction. Be careful not to overbeat the mixture. Overbeating tends to make
some mixtures tough.
Stop the mixer and scrape sides and bottom of bowl and beaters with a rubber spatula, as needed. Turn speed control to OFF and rest mixer on its heel rest
while adding ingredients. Be sure to position beaters over mixing bowl, so that any drippings will fail back
into mixing bowl. When mixing is complete, set speed control to FOLD.
Raise beaters slowly from batter to clean off clinging food. Be sure to turn unit OFF before raising beaters completely out of mixing bowl.

Electing Beaters: Be sure-speed control is at the OFF position and cord
a is removed from electrical outlet. Scrape off any
excess batter with a rubber spatula. Grasp the stems of the beaters with your hand and press beater ejec-
tion button. Beaters will pop out into your hand.
Caring for Your Mixer
I
Cleaning:
Wash the beaters before and after use. Rinse and dry. Beaters may be washed in a dishwasher.
Remove cord from electrical outlet. Clean mixer head
with a damp cloth and wipe dry. DO NOT IMMERSE
MIXER IN WATER. Avoid the use of abrasive clean­ers that will mar the finish of your mixer. The motor of
your mixer has been carefully lubricated at the factor)
and does not require any additional lubricant. Storage:
A convenient cord wrap on the end of the mixer allows for easy
cord storage (see illustration). Store the mixer on its heel rest in
a clean, dry location such as a cabinet or shelf. Store beaters in

Other than the recommended cleaning, no further user maintenance should be necessary.
If for any reason your hand mixer should require repairs, do not try to fix it yourself. Send it to the nearest Sunbeam-Oster Household Products autho-
rized independent service station.

Speed Guide for Hand Mixer The mixing guide on the mixer is provided as a
quick reference for proper speed selection.. Below are descriptions of the various speeds:

Sunbeam-Oster Household Products warrants that for a period of two years
from date of purchase this product shall be free of mechanical and electrical
defects in material and workmanship. Our obligation hereunder is limited to
repair or replacement, at our option, of this product during the warranty
period, provided the product is sent postage prepaid to a Sunbeam-Oster
Household Products authorized independent service station, or to our factory service center:

for any incidental or consequential damages for breach of any express or
implied warranty on this product. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any Implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a
particular purpose on this product Is limited in duration to the duration of the above warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of
incidental or consequential damages, or allow limitations on how long an
implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have
other rights which vary from state to state.
