INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION

APPLICATIONS:
2006.5-UP Audi A3 (8P), TT (8J) equipped with both 6-Speed Transmission and OEM shifter part #1K0 711 051 N
2006.5-08.5 VW GTI MKV, Jetta GLI MKV, EOS, Passat (B6) equipped with 6-Speed Transmission and OEM shifter part # 1K0 711 051 N
FOR: 2008.5-UP w/ 2.0 TSI (CCTA/CBFA) installation see other side
PART LIST: 1 – GEAR SELECTOR LEVER w/SMALL PIN STUD (.330” / 8.4 mm diameter)
TOOLS REQUIRED: 1 – 13mm SOCKET 1 – RATCHET HANDLE
1 – 6” OR LONGER EXTENSION 1 – TORQUE WRENCH
1. Remove clip on end of shifter cable and remove cable that attaches to gear selector lever.
2. Unbolt gear selector lever from selector shaft using a 13mm socket – remove lever (rock lever back and forth while pulling up).
3. Grease guide rail on NEUSPEED® gear selector lever. Install selector lever by first installing guide rail in white plastic guide. Then
match up splines on selector shaft – note wide alignment spline. Install lock nut and torque to 20 ft./lbs.
4. Grease pin on gear selector lever and re-attach cable. Re-attach retaining clip.
5. Carefully double-check complete installation to be sure nothing interferes with the shift linkage, tightness of all nuts and bolts, and
check that ALL gears engage smoothly and fully BEFORE STARTING ENGINE OR TEST DRIVING!

PART LIST: 1 – GEAR SELECTOR LEVER w/SMALL PIN STUD (.330” / 8.4 mm diameter)
TOOLS REQUIRED: 1 – 13mm SOCKET 1 – RATCHET HANDLE 1-SPRING CLAMP PLIERS
1 – 6” OR LONGER EXTENSION 1 – TORQUE WRENCH 1-5MM HEX KEY WRENCH
1. Disconnect Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
electrical connector.
2. Disconnect air intake hose from MAF
using spring clamp pliers.
4. Remove cover at intake duct.
5. Using a 5mm hex key wrench, unbolt air
filter box mount, located on back side.
7. Remove clip on end of shifter cable and
lift off. Unbolt gear selector lever from
selector shaft using a 13mm socket –
now remove lever (rock lever back and
forth while pulling up).
6. Lift off air filter box from rubber
3. Squeeze collar and disconnect air pump
hose from front side of air filter box lid if
equipped.

coolant hose to remove. Note drain
tubing on bottom right side of air box.

ft./lbs. Grease pin on gear selector lever

7. Re-install air box in reverse of disassembly.
8. Carefully double-check complete installation to be sure nothing interferes with the shift linkage, tightness of all nuts and bolts, and check
