The NEC SIGMABLADE AD106a is an innovative storage blade for NEC’s blade systems. The AD106a is designed to operate either as a
storage extension to the server blades in NEC blade system, or as primary storage for NEC’s blades. The NEC storage blade is designed
for application compatibility and high availability in a choice of congurations.

Overview
The SIGMABLADE AD106a storage blade with NEC’s new Intel
blade servers can provide signicantly more local storage for the
attached blade.
The SIGMABLADE AD106a is optimized to work with NEC’s Intel
Xeon’s 5500 series blades, which are designed for virtualization
solutions. In addition to adding storage, NEC had the foresight
to include expansion I/O slots and ports in the NEC Express5800
SIGMABLADES AD106a storage blade to directly address greater
I/O and expansion function needs for the host server blade
