For added protection against more powerful
surges and spikes, advanced Monster Dual
Mode Plus™ circuitry automatically disconnects
your AV equipment from the live power line
to isolate your equipment from dangerous AC
power conditions. Dual Mode Plus also sounds
an alarm to alert you that your PowerCenter has
protected your electronics.
Fireproof MOV Technology Protects
Your Equipment and Your Home
Power surges can harm not only your valuable
home theater equipment but can also start
a re in your home—even if you’re using
a surge protector. Ordinary surge protectors
use plastic-coated MOVs—metal oxide varistors—
to absorb excess voltage. But powerful surges
can overheat and melt the plastic coating,
potentially causing a re.
This Monster FlatScreen PowerCenter features
ceramic-encased MOVs for superior re
protection. The ceramic enclosure is made
of the same reproof material used on the space
shuttle to give you peace of mind that your home
theater and, more importantly, your home is safe.
Patented Clean Power® Removes Electrical
Interference for Better Picture and Sound
Your home’s electricity is full of noise and
interference caused by all of your appliances
and electronics: cell phones, computers, even
your lights, all contribute to the problem.
This “dirty power” stresses the delicate digital
circuitry inside HDTVs and other home theater
equipment, reducing their performance and
potentially shortening their lives.
However, ordinary surge protectors can’t remove
the eects of dirty power. This PowerCenter
features HD Clean Power ltering that
is precision-engineered to remove electrical
noise and interference. This protects the
delicate digital circuitry inside your HDTV
and other electronics from unnecessary wear.
HD Clean Power maximizes your equipment’s
lifespan and ensures the best possible picture
and sound performance.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Important Safety Information (cont’d)
ENGLISH
WARNING – Power Sources
Suitable for use on a circuit capable of delivering
not more than 5000 rms symmetrical amperes,
125 volts maximum. Monster’s In-Wall PowerCenter
is available only in 15-amp outlets. The 15-amp
product should only be used on a 15-amp branch
circuit utilizing 14 to 12-gauge wire. If you don’t
have a 15-amp branch circuit, be sure to consult
an electrician to install one that submits to all
applicable 15-amp building codes.
WARNING – Liquid:
Avoiding Electrical Shocks
Do not operate this PowerCenter if liquid of any
kind is spilled onto or inside the unit. Do not
operate this PowerCenter near rain or water that’s
spilled or contained (e.g., bathtub, kitchen or sink).
WARNING – Grounding and Polarization
If you use rooftop devices such as satellite dishes,
antennas, or any other component with wire
that connects to your PowerCenter, be sure
the wire(s) is properly grounded. This protects
against voltage surges and static charges. Do not
place any antenna near overhead power lines
or any other power circuit. Do not touch any
power line or power circuit. Doing so may cause
severe physical injury or possibly death.
WARNING – No User Serviceable
Parts Inside
If, for any reason, this PowerCenter is not
operating properly, do not remove any part
of the unit for repair. Unplug the unit and consult
the Limited Warranty for Consumers section
of this owner’s manual for important details.

sunlight or place it near wall heaters, space
heaters, or any enclosed space prone
to temperature increase.
WARNING – Surge Module Safety
This device features an internal protection

component at the end of its useful life but will
maintain power to the load—now unprotected.
If this situation is undesirable for the application,
follow the manufacturer’s instructions for
replacing the device.

IMPORTANT NOTE
Be sure to turn o the particular
circuit branch that provides power
to the wires you are accessing from
the main breaker panel.
Outlet Box Installation
For existing construction environments, you
will need to cut a hole in your wall to rst install
the two gang outlet box that will go behind your
Monster In-Wall PowerCenter. Monster strongly
recommends you enlist the help of a licensed
electrician, or someone experienced with home
electrical wiring and custom installation.
If you are installing the Monster In-Wall
PowerCenter into new home construction
environments, the Two-Gang Outlet Box should
already be in place and the line and ground wires
already threaded through, ready for connection.
In this scenario, please proceed to the Surge
Module Installation section of these instructions.

Outlet Box Installation (cont’d)
A) Use a stud nder (available at your local
hardware store) to locate the wall studs near
the location where you wish to install your
In-Wall PowerCenter (close to or behind
the display device). To ensure wire accessibility,
your location should also be vertically aligned
with an existing power source (wall outlet, etc.).
Mark the ideal hole location with dimensions
4³⁄₁₆" x 3⁷⁄₈" in between the wall studs. You can do
this by rst holding the Two-Gang Outlet Box with
its open face ush against the wall. Use a pencil
to lightly trace the edge of the Two-Gang Outlet
Box, but not the six outer tabs (see Image 1 at right).
Once you have traced the edges, remove the
Two-Gang Outlet Box (Image 2), and use a straight
edge to lightly draw the rest of the edges and
corners (Image 3). Use a ruler to ensure that the
dimensions are 4³⁄₁₆" x 3⁷⁄₈" before proceeding.
Drill a small hole in the center of the outline,
and feed one end of a coat hanger through
the hole to check for obstructions. If nothing
is detected, carefully cut out the outlined
rectangle with a drywall saw.

allowing 3–5 inches for slack.
C) Place the Two-Gang Outlet Box
into the wall hole with the tabs
retracted. Carefully turn the screws
clockwise until the tabs rotate
upright and clamp the box securely
to the wallboard.
