General Instructions:
While each ProSessions CD contains sound content that can be easily loaded into your favorite software program, it is important to consult the application’s owner’s manual for instructions on importing different file types. Your ProSessions 24 CD will contain one or more of the file formats described below.
WAV Files (Microsoft Windows’ Audio File Format): WAV serves as the default file format for most Windows programs, and is also supported by some Macintosh applications.
AIFF Files (Apple’s Audio Interchange File Format): AIFF is the default file format for most Macintosh software applications.
REX2 Files (ReCycle’s native file format): REX2 files contain the audio data of a stereo loop, the slice information, and the original (calculated)
tempo. If you are using a sampler or computer program that can read REX2 files (such as Propellerhead Reason or Steinberg Cubase), you can adjust the tempo and pitch independently of each other.
Acidized WAV File (A WAV file prepared for use in Acid): Acidized WAV files store special data that optimizes the time stretching/compressing and pitch change features of ACID.
MIDI Files (For use with a virtual instrument or hardware synth): MIDI files consist of event sequences that can be used to trigger a software-based synth or drum machine, or an external hardware-based synthesizer and/or drum machine. Most MIDI files will contain note data as well as velocity settings and controller messages (i.e., sustain, pitch bend, etc.).
