DESCRIPTION

MS-2-REC is a switching device designed for audio monitoring and recording. The unit consists of two rocker
switches, green and red. When illuminated, green represents live audio monitoring and red indicates that live
audio is being recorded.

When the Green and Red Switches are in the off position, both the microphone and recording device are
inactive and the two switches are not illuminated. The switches are manually turned ON and OFF. The Red
Switch has an open contact (R1 and R2) and can be close to turn ON anything besides a recorder.The
maximum capacity of the switch contacts are 9A @125Vac.

The Green and Red Switches are mounted to a double gang stainless steel face plate that fits into a 2-gang
back box for flush or surface mounting to a wall or flat surface. The 2-gang box is not supplied.

A 12Vdc power supply for MS-2-REC unit is included.

MICROPHONE CONNECTION

All Louroe Microphones have a 3-pin terminal block marked A, B, C

A = 12Vdc Power
B = Audio Output
C = Ground

Bring twisted pair cable 22 or 20 gauge to microphone terminal block and connect as follows:

1) Connect 1 of the wires to pin A of microphone

2) Connect other wire to pin C of microphone

Run other end of twisted pair cable to the MS-2-REC plate

MS-2-REC MUTE SWITCH CONNECTION

MS-2-REC has a 5-pin terminal block marked A, A1, C, R1 and R2

A = 12Vdc Power
A1 = Power to Microphone
C = Ground
R1 = Connection to Recorder Contact
R2 = Connection to Recorder Contact

Carefully matching color codes, connect as follows:

1) Connect wire from Pin A of Microphone to Pin A1 of MS-2-REC

2) Connect wire from Pin C of Microphone to Pin C of MS-2-REC

CONNECTION FROM MICROPHONE TO RECORDING DEVICE

Wiring Requirements:

Single conductor shielded, 22 gauge with a 24 gauge drain wire
This wire will have a jacket color (black, red, etc.). Drain wire is bare.

Bring one end of shielded cable to microphone 3-pin terminal block.

1) Jacketed wire (colored) connects to pin B of microphone

2) Drain wire (bare) connects to pin C (shared with twisted wire)

Run other end of shielded cable to recording device. If the Audio Input of recorder is an RCA Jack, solder on
an RCA plug as follows:

1) The jacketed wire attached to Pin B of microphone goes to positive tip of RCA Plug (positive)

2) The bare wire attached to Pin C of microphone goes to the sleeve (negative)

Connect to “Audio In” of recording device.

If Audio Input of recording device is other than RCA, refer to manufacturers instructions for connection.

CONNECTION FROM MS-2 REC TO RECORDING DEVICE OR OTHER

Wiring Requirements:

Twisted pair, 20 or 22 gauge

1) Connect one wire to pin R1 of MS-2-REC

2) Connect other wire to pin R2 of MS-2-REC

Run other end of twisted pair to recorder’s or other receiving device contacts. Refer to recorder’s
manufacturers installation instruction for details of contact connections.

V APPLYING POWER TO THE MS-2-REC SYSTEM

A 12Vdc, 500mA power supply is included with MS-2-REC. Cut off the small plug of power supply

and separate the two wires a couple of inches. The black jacket wire with a white stripe is
negative, the solid black jacket wire is positive.

1) Positive wire connects to Pin A of MS-2-REC

2) Negative wire connects to Pin C of MS-2-REC
(shared with microphone ground)

MICROPHONE SWITCH ( )

When the top part of the green switch is manually pressed, it will illuminate indicating

When this equipment is used as part of an audio monitoring
system, the law requires that the public be given notice of
AUDIO MONITORING ON THE PREMISES. A decal
notice is included with each microphone shipped.

LOUROE ELECTRONICS warrants that at the time of shipment products manufactured by LOUROE ELECTRONICS to be free of defects in material and workmanship.
Should a defect appear within one year (12 months) from date of shipment, LOUROE ELECTRONICS will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the defective equipment.
This equipment shall not be accepted for repair or return without prior notification by LOUROE ELECTRONICS .

This warranty does not extend to any Louroe product that has been subjected to improper or incorrect installation, misuse, accident, or in violation of installation
instructions provided by LOUROE ELECTRONICS.

Returned shipments to LOUROE ELECTRONICS shall be at customer’s expense. LOUROE ELECTRONICS will return the equipment prepaid via best way.
