Contact your District Service and Parts Manager if you have any questions.
As part of the PDS road test, the vehicle must be driven over a rough road surface or over Bott Dots in order
to check for squeeks and rattles. If a rough surface is not available for this road test, Bott Dots should be installed
on the dealership property where vehicles can be safely driven 5 to 10 mph. (See Bott Dots installation
instructions below, as recommended and provided by TMC Quality Division.) Bott Dots are commonly available
at industrial supply outlets.
After thoroughly washing vehicle, check it to
make sure all adhesive wrapping film has
been removed.
Note: Hand washing of the vehicle is recommended.
2. WATER LEAK TEST
Visually and by hand check for water leaks
in the vehicle interior from each of the following areas (make sure that the trim and
floor carpet are not damp):

A03. TRUNK LID
a) Check opening, closing, locking and
unlocking of the trunk lid. Each operation should be smooth.
Note: How to remove and store the mechanical key.

key knob in the direction of the arrow
to release the lock and remove the
mechanical key.
D To store the key, keep sliding the key
knob in the direction of the arrow to
release the lock, and insert the mechanical key until it locks securely.

a) Check that all doors open and close
smoothly using the interior and exterior door handles.
b) Check that the doors cannot be
opened by using the interior and exterior door handles when the lock button
is in the locked position (except front
interior handles) .
c) For front interior handles:
Check that the front doors can be
opened by using the interior door
handles when the lock button is in
the locked position.
d) Check the illuminated entry system
operation.
The following lights turn on when the
door position is in ON and you approach the vehicle with the key:
D Front overhead courtesy light
D Rear overhead courtesy light
The following lights turn on when any
of the doors is unlocked opened using a mechanical or electrical key:
D Front interior light

D Front foot well lighting (with the
front interior lights OFF)

hicle, push the lock button on the outside handle and check that the buzzer
sounds and that the door does not
lock.
b) Take the electronic key and get out of
the vehicle. Push the lock button on
the outside handle and check that the
door locks.
c) From a distance of at least 3 ft., ap-
proach the vehicle and pull the outside
handle of left and right sides and the
trunk lid button. Check that the door
unlocks.
Note: The doors cannot be unlocked for
3 seconds after the doors are locked.
d) Check that the trunk lid is unlocked by
pushing the trunk lid button.

Inspect the five functions of the system.
a) Locki ng t he door
1. Close all the doors.

tronic key to lock all the doors
from outside the vehicle.
Note: At this time, all the turn signal
lights flash 1 time sounding one beep.
However, when you push the
button
with any door not closed securely, the
buzzer sounds for 10 seconds or until all
the doors are closed securely.
b) Unl ocking the doors
1. Push the
button on the elec-
tronic key once to unlock the driver’s door.
2. Push the
button once again
within 3 seconds from the first
push to unlock other doors.
Note: At this time, the interior and outer
foot light comes on and all the turn signal lights flash 2 times, sounding two
beeps.
3. Check that all doors automatically
relock after 30 seconds, if a door
is not opened.
c) Unlocking the trunk lid

button and hold it until
unlock trunk lid.
Note: At this time, one beep sounds.
d) Opening the windows and sliding roof
Push the button until the windows
and sliding roof start to move. When
the button is released, they stop
opening.
Note: When all the windows and the
sliding roof start to open, one beep
sounds.

e) Sounding an alarm
1. Keep the
button pushed for
about 1 second to sound an
alarm.
Note: At this time, all the headlights, tail
lights and emergency flashers will flash,
the front and rear interior lights will
come on, and an alarm will sound for a
period of 60 seconds.
2. To stop the alarm, push any but-
ton.
A07. THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM
With the doors, hood and trunk lid
locked, check that the system operates
properly.
System test:
a) Open the windows.
b) Lock the front doors using the key. Be
sure to wait until the security indicator
light on the dash starts flashing.
c) Unlock one of the doors using the in-
side door lock. The system should activate the alarm (sounding of the horn,
blinking of the headlights, tail lights
and emergency flasher, lighti ng up interior light).
d) Canc el the system by unlocking either
door with the mechanical key or the
electrical key.
A08. ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM
a) Check that the security indicator light
flashes when the engine switch is selected in the “OFF” mode.
b) Check that the engine can be started
using the keys.
c) Check that the security indicator light
turns off when starting the engine.
