INTRODUCTION

Félicitations pour votre acquisition de cette station météo, MeteoClock
SM840. Prenez le temps de lire et de comprendre ce manuel, ainsi vous
pourrez commencer à profiter de tous les avantages et fonctions que ce
produit vous offre.

Qu'est-ce qu'une station météo ?
Les stations digitales Lexibook mesurent non seulement le temps qui
passe grâce à leur horloge intégrée, mais aussi le temps qu'il fait et qu'il
fera à court terme !

La MeteoClock SM840 intègre les fonctions principales suivantes :

- Thermomètre :
La température est affichée au dixième de Centigrade près et en temps
réel.

- Baromètre :
La station mesure la pression atmosphérique et, d'après l'évolution de
celle-ci, affiche une prévision barométrique sous forme d'icônes animés
(soleil, nuages, pluie) pour les prochaines 12 à 24 heures.

FONCTIONS

• Affichage de la température intérieure (unités dʼaffichage en Centigrade
ou Fahrenheit).

• Prévisions météorologiques (symboles animés) avec affichage de la
pression atmosphérique (affichage des unités mb/hPA ou inHg).

• Affichage de lʼhistorique de la pression.

• Affichage de la tendance de la pression.

• Indicateur de pile faible.

• Calendrier avec affichage de lʼheure et du jour de la semaine.

• Horloge de 12/24 heures et alarme.

• Type de piles : 4 piles de type AAA.

• Rétro-éclairage.

Etiquette statique :

Avant dʼutiliser ce produit la première fois, enlevez lʼétiquette statique de
lʼécran LCD.

Description des touches

SET : pour régler lʼheure et le calendrier.
+/- : permet de faire défiler les unités vers le haut et le bas pour les
réglages. En mode de veille, pour régler lʼheure de lʼalarme. Gardez ces
touches appuyées pour faire défiler les unités plus rapidement.
UNITS : pour faire permuter lʼaffichage des unités de température
ambiante et de pression entre ºC/hPA et ºF/InHg.
RESET : pour réinitialiser lʼunité lorsque les données ne semblent pas
précises.
Interrupteur SNZ/ON/OFF/ALM : pour activer lʼun des 3 modes dʼalarme.
SNOOZE/LIGHT : pour activer le rétro-éclairage. Pour enclencher la
fonction de rappel dʼalarme (snooze).

Installation des piles

Ouvrez le compartiment des piles situé en dessous de lʼappareil.
Insérez 4 piles de type AAA selon la polarité (signes +/- ) indiquée à
lʼintérieur du compartiment des piles.
Replacez le couvercle du compartiment des piles.
Indicateur de pile faible : lʼicône suivant sʼaffichera sur la gauche de
lʼaffichage de la température lorsque les piles de lʼappareil deviennent
faibles.

REGLAGE DE LʼHORLOGE

Pour régler le calendrier et lʼhorloge

1. Appuyez sur le bouton SET.

2. Utilisez les touches + et – pour régler lʼannée. Appuyez sur SET pour
confirmer.

3. Utilisez les touches + et – pour régler la date (Jour/Mois). Gardez les
touches + ou - appuyées pour faire défiler les unités plus rapidement.
Note : pour régler le mois, vous devez augmenter le nombre de jours
jusquʼà ce que vous atteigniez la date voulue.

4. Appuyez sur le bouton SET pour confirmer.

5. Utilisez les touches + et – pour régler lʼheure. Gardez les touches + ou ­ appuyées pour faire défiler les unités plus rapidement.
Appuyez sur le bouton SET pour confirmer.

6. Appuyez sur les touches +/- pour sélectionner le format dʼaffichage de
12H (AM/PM) ou de 24H.

7. Appuyez sur le bouton SET pour confirmer.

UTILISATION DE LʼALARME

Pour utiliser lʼalarme quotidienne

1. En mode de veille (affichage normal), appuyez sur les touches +/- pour
régler lʼheure de lʼalarme. Gardez les touches + ou - appuyées pour
faire défiler les unités plus rapidement.

2. Faites glisser lʼinterrupteur SNZ/ON/OFF/ALM en position ON. Lʼicône
sʼaffichera au-dessus de lʼaffichage de lʼheure.

3. Lorsque lʼalarme sonne, appuyez sur nʼimporte quel bouton sur la
façade de lʼappareil ou sur le bouton SNOOZE/LIGHT situé au-dessus
de lʼappareil pour arrêter lʼalarme. Lʼalarme sonnera de nouveau le jour
suivant à la même heure.

Pour utiliser la fonction de rappel dʼalarme (snooze)

1. En mode de veille (affichage normal), appuyez sur les touches +/- pour
régler lʼheure de lʼalarme. Gardez les touches + ou - appuyées pour
faire défiler les unités plus rapidement.

2. Faites glisser lʼinterrupteur SNZ/ON/OFF/ALM en position SNZ. Lʼicône
sʼaffichera au-dessus de lʼaffichage de lʼheure dʼalarme.

3. Lorsque lʼalarme sonne, appuyez sur nʼimporte quel bouton sur la
façade de lʼappareil ou sur le bouton SNOOZE/LIGHT situé au-dessus
de lʼappareil pour enclencher le rappel dʼalarme. Lʼalarme sonnera de
nouveau 5 minutes plus tard.

4. Pour arrêter le rappel dʼalarme, faites glisser lʼinterrupteur
SNZ/ON/OFF/ALM en position OFF.

Pour désactiver lʼalarme

Faites glisser lʼinterrupteur SNZ/ON/OFF/ALM en position OFF.
Lʼicône disparaîtra de lʼaffichage.

Affichage de la température ambiante et de la pression

Appuyez sur les touches UNITS pour sélectionner lʼaffichage des unités de
la température ambiante et de la pression (ºC et hPA ou ºF et InHg).

Symboles météorologiques

Cette station météo est capable de détecter les changements de pression
atmosphérique et, en se basant sur les données enregistrées, peut prédire
le climat pour les prochaines 12 à 24 heures.

REMARQUES :

• Après avoir effectué vos réglages, la prévision du temps de l'appareil ne
sera effective qu'après 12 à 24 heures. Cette période de temps sera
suffisante pour que la station météo s'adapte à une altitude constante et
pour quʼelle indique ainsi les résultats les plus précis possible.

•Une précision absolue ne peut toutefois pas être garantie en ce qui
concerne les prévisions météorologiques. La fonction de prévision du
temps possède un niveau de précision d'environ 75% dû aux divers
environnements pour lesquels cette station météo a été conçue.

Vous devrez peut-être réinitialiser lʼappareil dans les cas suivants :

- Si la station climatique est déplacée dans un autre endroit sensiblement
à une plus haute ou plus basse altitude que le lieu initial. Dans ce cas, la
station météo interprétera avec erreur ce nouveau lieu comme un
changement possible de pression de lʼair.

- Si lʼicône climatique nʼaffiche pas la condition climatique correcte durant
une longue période.
Pour réinitialiser lʼappareil, utilisez un objet pointu (le bout dʼun trombone
par exemple) pour appuyer sur la touche RESET située sur la gauche de
la façade avant de lʼappareil. Vous devrez alors patienter 12 à 24 heures
pour permettre à lʼappareil de sʼhabituer à ce nouveau lieu.

AFFICHAGE DE LA PRESSION ATMOSPHERIQUE

Tendance de la pression

Le pointeur de la tendance indique la tendance de la
pression barométrique.
La flèche orientée vers le haut indique que la tendance
de la pression barométrique augmente.
La flèche orientée vers le bas indique que la tendance
de la pression barométrique diminue.

Le graphique vous permet de voir la tendance
de la pression sur une période de 12 heures.

RETRO-ECLAIRAGE

Pour allumer le rétro-éclairage durant quelques secondes, appuyez sur la
touche SNOOZE/LIGHT.

ENTRETIEN

Pour nettoyer lʼunité, utiliser uniquement un chiffon doux légèrement
imbibé dʼeau, à lʼexclusion de tout produit détergent. Ne pas exposer
lʼunité à la lumière directe du soleil ni à toute autre source de chaleur.
Ne pas la mouiller. Ne pas la démonter, ni la laisser tomber. Retirer les
piles si le produit ne va pas être utilisé pendant une longue période.

INTRODUCTION

Congratulations on your purchase of this weather station, MeteoClock®
SM840. Please take the time to read and understand this manual so you
can begin to enjoy the convenience and features this product has to offer.

What exactly is a Weather Station?
Lexibook digital stations measure not only the time in progress - thanks to
their built-in clock – but also the actual and upcoming weather!

The MeteoClock® SM840 incorporates different functions:

- Thermometer:
Temperature is displayed in real time to the nearest tenth of a degree
Celsius.

- Barometer:
The station also monitors the atmospheric pressure and, based on its
pattern of evolution, displays a weather forecast as a user-friendly icon:
sun, clouds, rain... That is the weather to expect in the next 12 to 24 hours.

GETTING STARTED

Static label:

Before using this product for the first time, remove the static label from the
LCD screen.

Key description

Battery
compartment

SET: to set the time and calendar.
+/-: during settings, to toggle the digits upwards or downwards. In standby
mode, to set the alarm time. Keep these keys pressed to toggle the digits
at a faster rate.
UNITS: to toggle the units of the indoor temperature and pressure display
between ºC/hPA and ºF/InHg.
RESET: to reset the unit when the data does not seem accurate.
SNZ/ON/OFF/ALM switch: to activate one of the 3 alarm modes.
SNOOZE/LIGHT: to activate the backlight. To trigger the snooze function.

Battery installation

Open the battery compartment located on the underside of the unit.
Insert 4 AAA size batteries according to the polarity (+/- signs) indicated
inside the battery compartment.

Low battery indicator: the following icon will be displayed on the left of
the temperature display when the unitʼs batteries are low.

SETTING THE CLOCK

To set the calendar and the clock

1. Press the SET button.

2. Use the + and – keys to set the year. Press SET to confirm.

3. Use the + and – keys to set the date (Day/Month). Keep the + or - key
pressed to adjust the digits at a faster rate.
Note: to set the month, you must add up the number of days until you
reach the correct date.

4. Press SET to confirm.

5. Use the + and – keys to set the current time. Keep the + or - key
pressed to adjust the digits at a faster rate. Press SET to confirm.

6. Press the +/- keys to select 12H (AM/PM) or 24H time display format.

7. Press SET to confirm.

USING THE ALARM

To use the daily alarm

1. In standby mode (normal display), press the +/- keys to set the alarm
time. Keep the + or - key pressed to adjust the digits at a faster rate.

2. Slide the SNZ/ON/OFF/ALM switch to the ON position. The icon will
be shown above time display.

3. When the alarm rings, press any button on the facing of the unit or the
SNOOZE/LIGHT button located on top the unit to stop the alarm. It will
ring again the next day at the time set.

To use the snooze function

1. In standby mode (normal display), press the +/- keys to set the alarm
time. Keep the + or - key pressed to adjust the digits at a faster rate.

2. Slide the SNZ/ON/OFF/ALM switch to the SNZ position. The icon
will be shown above the alarm time display.

3. When the alarm rings, press any button on the facing of the unit or the
SNOOZE/LIGHT button located on top the unit to snooze the alarm
again. The alarm will ring 5 minutes later.

4. To turn off the snooze alarm, slide the SNZ/ON/OFF/ALM switch to the
OFF position.

To deactivate the alarm

Slide the SNZ/ON/OFF/ALM switch to the OFF position. The icon will
disappear from the display.

WEATHER DISPLAY

Indoor temperature and pressure display

Press the UNITS key to select the display units of the indoor temperature
and pressure (ºC and hPA or ºF and InHg).

Weather report symbols

This weather station is able to detect barometric pressure changes, and
based on the data collected, can predict the weather for the next 12 to 24
hours.

REMARKS:

• After having completed the settings of your weather station, please
discard the readings of the weather forecast for the next 12-24 hours.
This will allow sufficient time for the Weather Station to operate at a
constant altitude and therefore result in a more accurate forecast.

• Absolute accuracy cannot be guaranteed regarding weather forecasting.
The weather forecasting feature is estimated to have an accuracy level of
about 75% due to the varying areas the Weather Station has been
designed to be used in.

You may need to reset the unit in the following cases:

- If the weather station is moved to another location significantly higher or
lower than its initial standing point. By doing this, the weather station will
mistakenly consider the new location as a possible change in air pressure.

- If the weather icon does not display the correct weather forecast for an
extended period of time.
To reset the unit, use a blunt object (the tip of a paper clip for example) to
press the RESET key located on the bottom front part of the unit. Again,
discard the weather forecasts for the next 12-24 hours as to allow time for
operation at a constant altitude.

ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE DISPLAY

Pressure trend

The trend pointer indicates the trend of the barometric
pressure.
The upper arrow indicates that the barometric pressure
trend is increasing.
The lower arrow indicates that the barometric pressure
trend is decreasing.

The bar graph lets you see the pressure trend
over a period of 12 hours.

BACKLIGHT

To turn on the backlight for a few seconds, press the SNOOZE/LIGHT key.

MAINTENANCE

In order to clean the unit, use only a soft cloth moistened with water; do not
use any detergent product. Do not dismantle or drop the unit. Remove the
batteries if the unit is not going to be used for an extended period of time.
