THERMO-HYGRO TRANSMITTER WITH 868MHZ
p
Congratulations on purchasing an additional Thermo-Hygro transmitter for used with the Weather Station. Please read the following information to ensure that your transmitter works correctly together with your Weather Station set.

artment
SETTING UP:
1. Firstly, open the battery cover to your Weather Station and checking the correct polarization, insert 3 x AA, IEC LR6, 1.5V batteries into the battery compartment.
2. Replace the cover and ensure that the batteries do not spring free from the contacts, otherwise start up problems may occur.
3. Slide open the battery cover of the transmitter as indicated above and insert 2 x AA, IEC LR6,
1.5V batteries into the battery compartment and replace cover.
4. After 1 minute, repeat step 3 to activate the second transmitter (providing that the outdoor temperature and humidity readings have been received from the first transmitter, otherwise transmission reception problems may occur).
5. If you have purchased a third transmitter, then wait a further 1 minute after completing step4 followed by repeating steps 3.
Your transmitter(s) is now fully operati onal w ith the Weather Station.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
By the time of inserting the batteries into the next transmitter, the outdoor temperature and humidity readings from the previous transmitter should be received. Always ensure that the readings are received from one transmitter before activating the next.
Each succesfull 868MHz transmission from the transmitter to the Weather station should take approximately thirty seconds. If no temperature readings are received within a minute after inserting the batteries into the transmitter, then reset all units (see Resetting below).
The Weather station allows sufficient time for setting up process. If setting up has taken more than 8 minutes, then the start up problems may occur because the Weather station may not attempt to receive the 868MHz signal after this period.
Transmitter need not to be activated in any set order, except that each transmitter temperature and humidity readings before activating the next transmitter. Each transmission signal received by the Weather Station will be indicated by the satellite transmission icon and a 1, 2 or 3 icons (i.e transmitter 1, 2 or 3) on the LCD (unless only 1 transmitter is used) The icons are located on the Weather station LCD in between the outdoor temperature and humidity readings.
Always insert batteries into the Weather station first before the transmitters otherwise transmission problems will occur .
868MHZ-EMPFANGSTEST:
In normal surroundings (for example, away from interfering sources such as TV sets), the outdoor temperature and humidity readings from the transmitter can usually be received within 1 minute of setting up. Should this not be the case, then check the following:
USED WITH THE WEATHER STATION
Battery cover
Rain protection cover
Wall mounting base
1. The distance of all units should be at least 1.5 – 2.0 meters away from interfering sources such as computer monitors or TV sets.
2. Avoid placing the units onto or in the immediate proximity of metal doors and window frames or structures.
3. Using other electrical products such as wireless headphones and speakers that operate on the same frequency signal (868MHz) can prevent the transmission pick up.
4. Neighbours using electrical items operating on the 868MHz signal can also cause interference. In most severe cases, readings will only be received once all the other electrical items using 868MHz are switched off.
5. Within thick concrete rooms such as basements and tower blocks, the signal is naturally weaker. Should this happen, then place the Weather station closer to a window or point its front or back in the general direction of the transmitters (avoid placing near metal frames and structures).
6. Transmission may be affected by exposure to extreme temperature conditions. For example, if the weather has been extremely cold (under -25ºC) for an extended period of time, then the 868MHz may be weakened. Please bear this in mind when positioning the transmitter ( see
Maintenance below).
RESETTING:
1. Remove the batteries from all the transmitters and the Weather station.
2. Wait at least 30 seconds and repeat the procedures specified in Setting up above. Always wait at least 30 seconds before reinserting the batteries, otherwise start up problems may occur.
Note: Remember when inserting, the Weather station and all the transmitters have to be
reset and insert the batteries into the Weather station first.
WALL MOUNTING THERMO-HYGRO TRANSMITTER:
Each transmitter is supplied with 2 wall mounting screws and plastic anchors. To wall mount simply:
1. Secure the wall base onto a desired wall using the screws and plastic anchors.
2. Insert the transmitter to the wall base.
Note: Before permanently fixing the transmitter wall base, pace all units in the desired
locations to check that the outdoor temperature and humidity readings are receivable. In event that the signal is not received, relocate the transmitters or move them slightly as this may help the signal reception.
REPLACING BATTERIES:
Batteries of all units should be replaced at least once a year to maintain the optimum accuracy. Ensure that the batteries used are new of correct size.
Please help to preserve the environment and return used batteries to an authorized
MAINTENANCE:
depot.
Avoid placing the transmitter(s) in are prone to vibrations and shocks as these may cause damage to the transmitter(s).
Avoid areas where the transmitter(s) can be exposed to sudden change s in temperature, i.e. direct sunlight, extreme cold and wet/moist conditions as this may lead to rapid changes which may reduce the accuracy of the readings.
When cleaning the casing, use a soft damp cloth only. Do not use solvents or scouring agents and do not submerge into water.
Immediately remove all low powered batteries to avoid leakage and damage to the products. Replace only with new batteries of the recommended size.
Do not make any repairs to the unit. Please return to the original point of purchase for repair by a qualified engineer. Opening and tampering with the units may invalidate its guarantee.
