Phenomenon
Paper jam occurs often on the left side of the paper jam flap (Jam 88, skewed paper position, jam in the fuser unit).
Reason: Defective basement of the CONVEYING UNIP (please refer to the photos on the next pages.)
Cause
If paper jam occurs, the user tries to slide (push or pull) the sorter aside without applying the unlocking of the sorter.
If this was frequently done, the plastic holder of the basement will be torn down (see the photos 1 & 2) and no more
balanced contact pressure will be provided, which causes many paper jams in this section. If the sorter is slid aside,
one can see that the left paper jam flap does not lay in the housing.
Measures
Please replace the complete PARTS CONVERYING UNIT.

Please show the user how to correctly remove the paper jam. Before trying to slide the sorter aside, FIRST the
unlocking button of the sorter must be pressed and then the sorter should be slid.
If possible, please make the unlocking button of the sorter optically more visible by applying a sticker (Attention!!!
Before sliding, unlock!).
