1 Paper jam J-51 Phenomenon

Paper jam J-51 (Misfeed in job separator eject section) may occur.

Solution

The ON timing of the eject motor has been changed from 20ms to 50ms after turning the fuser sensor ON.

2 Error code C710x

C710x: Toner

Phenomenon

Error code C710x may occur when cassette 1 or 2 is partially inserted in the machine.

Cause

The controller detects the paper in the paper cassette and starts to direct the printing process

(Drive start). The engine can not execute the printing process since the applicable paper

cassette can not be detected (Drive stop). Under this condition the toner in the developing unit is consumed due to the continuous drive

start and stop, caused by the communication between the controller and the engine. The Engine will also check the remaining paper signal when detecting the drawer connection in the situation the drawer can not be detected the remaining paper quantity will be set to “0”.

Solution

The remaining paper detection will be informed to the Engine if the applicable paper cassette is detected by the drawer connector in the cassette. When the paper cassette is not detected by the drawer connector, the residual quantity of the paper will be set to “0”.

*1. Upgrade the MAIN and MMI rmware at the same time, to prevent error code CF000. *2. Please note that the setting of maintenance mode U327 (setting cassette heater control) will return to the default value OFF, when upgrading the rmware to version 004.001 from an older version. (See service bulletin 2H7-006

for further details) *3. Perform AC calibration at maintenance mode U464 (set ID adjustment mode) after upgrading the engine

rmware to version 006.009 or higher. *5. Combined rmware (*4). When downloading the combined rmware, the appropriate rmware will be installed by detecting the Fax system (Q) or Fax system (S)C.
