Phenomenon Error code SC2700 may occur. (Colour release motor error)

Cause The drive gears A through D may shift toward the colour release motor, when the

primary transfer rollers (Y/C/M) are pressed against the primary transfer belt. In case the cogs
of the gear A are caught by the gear B/C, the gear A can not move toward the thrust direction,
increasing the driving load to the colour release motor.

Solution A shim (Y: T=0.5mm) has been added between the gears (B/C), to prevent the cogs of the gear

A from getting caught by the gears (B/C). The quick drying lubricant has been applied to the
sliding surface of the primary transfer roller elevation cams (Z) which are located on the shaft

of the gears (B/C), in order to improve the sliding motion of the cams. The engine rmware has

been upgraded, to implement the retrial of the colour release motor drive, when it stops due to
the overload.

If error code SC2700 is cleared, please upgrade all the rmware to the latest version at the same
time. If the phenomenon occurs after upgrading the rmware, please replace the parts transfer

belt unit with the latest type.

Firmware notes

*1. Upgrade the MAIN and MMI rmware at the same time, to prevent error code CF000.

*2. Please note that the setting of maintenance mode U327 (setting cassette heater control) will return to the default

value OFF, when upgrading the rmware to version 004.001 from an older version. (See service bulletin 2H7-006

for further details)
*3. Perform AC calibration at maintenance mode U464 (set ID adjustment mode) after upgrading the engine

rmware to version 006.009 or higher.
*5. Combined rmware of 5 kinds of fax rmware (*4). The proper rmware will be installed automatically by
detecting what type of of fax system is installed (Fax system (Q) or (S)C.
