THIS MODEL PHONE MEETS THE G OVERNMENT’S REQUIREMENTS FOR EXPOSURE TO RAD IO WAVES.
User Guide for the Kyocera Phantom phone v
Your wireless phone is a radio transmitter and receiver. It i s designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications Commission of the U.S. Government. These l imits are part of comprehensive gui delines and establish permit ted levels of RF energy for the general population. The guidelines are based on standards that were developed by independent scientific organiz ations through periodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studi es. The standards incl ude a substanti al safety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health.
The exposure standard for wir eless mobile phones employs a unit of measurement known as the S pecific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6 W/kg.* Tests for SAR are conducted using st andard operating positions specifi ed by the FCC with the phone t ransmitting at its highest certified power l evel in all tested fr equency bands.
Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified power level, the actual SAR level of the phone while operati ng can be well below the maximum value.
vi
This is because the phone is designed to operate at multiple power levels so as to use only the power required to reach the network. In general, the closer you are to a wireless base st ati on antenna, the lower the power output.
Before a phone model i s available for sale to the public, it must be test ed and certified to the FCC that it does not exceed the limit established by the government-adopted requirement for safe exposure. The tests are performed in positions and locations (e.g., at the ear and worn on the body) as required by the FCC for each model. The highest SAR values for these model phones are:
FCC ID: OVFKWC-KE4X3 (Phone model: KE413) Head: 1.32 mW/g; Body-worn: 0.544 mW/g. FCC ID: OVFKWC-KE4X4 (Phone model: KE414)
AMPS mode - Head: 1.39 mW/g; Body-worn: 0.686mW/g
PCS mode - Head: 1.46 mW/g; Body-worn: 0.524 mW/g.
(Body-worn measurements differ among phone mode ls, depending upon availability of accessories and FCC requirements. The body-worn SAR values provided above were obtained by using Kyocera Wireless Corp. [KWC] supplied and approved case CA90-G2603-01 and universal belt clip 55-B1795-01).
User Guide for the Kyocera Phantom phone vii
While there may be diff erences between the SAR levels of various phones and at various positions, they all meet the government requirement for safe exposure.
The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorization for this model phone with all reported SAR level s evaluated as in compliance wi th the FCC RF emission guidelines. SAR information on this model phone is on file with the FCC and can be found under the Display Grant section http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid after searching on the FCC ID:
Model: KE414 FCC ID: OVFKWC-KE4X4 Model: KE413 FCC ID: OVFKWC-KE4X3
Additional information on SAR can be found on the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA) web-site at http:// www.wow-com.com.
* In the United States and Canada, the SAR limit for mobile phones used by the public is 1.6 watts/kg (W/kg) averaged over one gram of tissue. The standard incorporates a substantial margin of safety to give additional protection for the public and to account for any variations in measurements.
