According to the information in the Service manual and the Service training material, the Optical lock lever has
to be unlocked when tting the Upper left cover, since this lever is in the locked state from the Factory. Please
note that the Optical lock lever should be in the unlocked state when tting the Rear cover.

The Optical lock lever may be pushed inside (Locked state) by a rib on the Rear cover when tting this cover. In
this case the Optical/Scan system can not move toward the left side, when attempting to make a copy with the DP.
Under this condition, the following phenomena may occur:

1. Abnormal image.

2. Blank copy.

3. Background on the image.
