1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Read all instructions and keep thesesafetyinstructions. Anytype ofmisuse ofthe appliancemayresultina potential injury.

Connect theapplianceto a mains powersocket with anearthcon­nectiononly. Mains voltage mustbe the sameas the detailson theratingplate. The useof incorrect connectionwill negate the guaranteeand maybehazardous.

Thisappliance isintendedto beusedinhousehold only. Itis not intendedto be used in following applications,and theguarantee willnot applyfor:
–staff kitchen areasin shops, offices andotherworking envir-

Donotremove hot capsulesby hand.Always usecapsule holder handletodispose ofusedcapsules.

Alwaysuse the appliance onaflat, stable, heatresistant surface awayfrom sourcesofheator watersplashes.

Toprotect againstfire, electricshockand injury to personsdo not immersethe powercord, plugs or the appliance inwateror other liquid.Avoid spillageon the plug. Never touch the powercord with wethands.Do notoverfill thewater tank.

In case ofan emergencyremovetheplugfrom the mainspower socketimmediately.

Unplugfrom the mainspower socket whennotinuse.

Unplugfrom the mainspower socket beforecleaning. Allow to coolbefore puttingon ortaking off parts, beforecleaning the appli­ance.Never cleanwet or immerse appliance in any fluid. Never cleanthe appliance with runningwater. Neveruse detergentsto cleanthe appliance. Clean theapplianceonly using soft sponges/brushes.Thewater tank should be cleanedwitha clean food-safe brush.

Ifaway forprolonged periods, onholiday, etc. theappliancemust beemptied, cleaned and unplugged. Rinsebefore reuse. Operate therinse cyclebefore re-using your appliance.

In case ofintensive use withoutallowingsufficientcoolingtime, theappliancewill stop functioningtemporarilywith the redindic­atorlightblinking. Thisis toprotect yourappliancefrom over­heating. Switchthe appliance off for20 minutes toletit cool down.

Donotoperate anyappliance with a damaged cord or plug. If the powercord is damaged, it mustbe replacedbythe manufacturer, itsserviceagentorsimilarlyqualified persons in ordertoavoid a hazard.Do not operateany appliance thatmalfunctionsorhas

beendamagedin anymanner. Unplug cord immediately. Return thedamaged appliance tothe nearest authorised service facility designatedby NESCAFÉ®DolceGusto®hotline.

Todisconnect, turn themachineoff, thenremovethe plug from the mainspower socket. Do not unplug by pullingthe cord.

Alwaysinsert the capsuleholder in themachine toprepare a bever­age. Donotpull outthe capsule holderbefore theindicator stops blinking.The appliance will notworkifthe capsule holder is not inserted.
30.
Machinesequipped witha locking handle: Scalding mayoccur if thelockinghandle is opened duringthe brewing cycles. Do notpull upthe lockinghandle before thelights onthemachinestopflash­ing.

Rinse and cleanwater tank. Use aclean food-safe brushand washing-up liquidas needed. Afterwards refillwith fresh drinkingwater andinsert it into machine. The water tank is not dishwasherproof!

8. DESCALING AT LEAST EVERY 3-4 MONTHS

Ifthe beverage comes outslowerthan usual (evenin droplets),or if it iscooler thanusualor ifthe powerbuttonis steadyorange (descaling signal), themachine has to be descaled.

Donotuse vinegarfordescaling! Avoidcontactof descaling liquid with any
partof themachine.

Switchoff machine. Ifany, remove waterfrom watertank.

Donotpush ON / OFF iconduring descaling cycle.

Mix 0.5literfresh drinkingwater with descalerin ameas­uringcup. Pour descaling solution into watertank andinsert watertank into machine.

Removedrip grid anddrip tray. Putrinsingtoolinto capsule holder. Insert capsule holder into machine. Place an empty large container underneath the coffeeoutlet.

9. 1 NO LIQUID COMES OUT – NO WATER?

Noliquid comes out: Beverage preparation stops part way duringdelivery or does not startat all. Bar displayflashes and ON/ OFF iconblinks redand green rapidly.
Check ifthe watertank contains enough freshdrinking water.If not, refill withfresh drinking water andtouch hot/­coldwater iconagain tocontinue preparation. If thewater tank is full proceed as follows.
9. 2 NO LIQUID COMES OUT – CAPSULE / INJECTOR BLOCKED?

Noliquid comes out: The capsule may be blockedand under pressure.

Always keep themachine upright! To stop preparation, touch hot/coldwater iconagain. Do notunplug themachine! Machine releases pressure.

Coffee mix is pressed out oftop ofcapsule holder.Wait until pressingprocess is finished. This is the case if youhear no noise comingfromthe machine.

Donotdrink thecoffee!If capsule holder canbe pulled out: Throwaway the capsule. Ifcapsule holdercannotbe pulled out,waitfor20minutes, tryagain. If capsule holder isstill blocked, unplug machine. Call the NESCAFÉ®DolceGusto® hotline. Forhotline numbers see lastpage.
Rinse the machine: Follow instructionsin 5.“FIRST USE” on page 9. Cleanwith washing-upliquidand freshdrinking waterbothsidesof capsule holder. Rinse driptraywith fresh drinkingwater andcleanit witha cleanfood-safe brush.

tended! Keep injectorout of reachof children!

Insertinjectorfrom below into opening ofmachine. Support injectorwith hand. Rotate injectorclockwise until itfits. Fol­low instructions in 8.“Descalingat least every 3-4months” onpage 14.

Insertcleaning needle into injectorto unclogit. Ifnotpos­sible,prepare a descalingsolutionwithone descalerand
0.5 liter drinking water. Put injector indescalingsolution.
