1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1.
Read all instructions and keep thesesafetyinstructions. Anytype ofmisuse ofthe appliancemayresultina potential injury.

Connect theapplianceto a mains powersocket with anearthcon­nectiononly. Mains voltage mustbe the sameas the detailson theratingplate. The useof incorrect connectionwill negate the guaranteeand maybehazardous.

Thisappliance isintendedto beusedinhousehold only. Itis not intendedto be used in following applications,and theguarantee willnot applyfor:
–staff kitchen areasin shops, offices andotherworking envir-
onments; –farm houses; –by clients in hotels, motelsandother residential typeenvir-
onments; –bed and breakfasttypeenvironments;

Werecommend using theNESCAFÉ®DolceGusto® capsules designedandtested for theNESCAFÉ®DolceGusto® machine. Theyweredesigned to interacttogether - theinteraction provides thein-cupquality that NESCAFÉ®DolceGusto®is known for. Eachcapsuleis designed to preparea perfectcup, and cannotbe reused.

Donotremove hot capsulesby hand.Always usecapsule holder handletodispose ofusedcapsules.

Alwaysuse the appliance onaflat, stable, heatresistant surface awayfrom sourcesofheator watersplashes.

Toprotect againstfire, electricshockand injury to personsdo not immersethe powercord, plugs or the appliance inwateror other liquid.Avoid spillageon the plug. Never touch the powercord with wethands.Do notoverfill thewater tank.

In case ofan emergencyremovetheplugfrom the mainspower socketimmediately.

Closesupervision is necessarywhen the appliance is used near children.Keep the appliance /power cord / capsule holder outof reachof children. Childrenshould besupervised toensure that theydonotplay with theappliance. Neverleave the appliance withoutsurveillancewhile making abeverage.

Donotuse the appliance withoutthe drip tray and drip grid, exceptwhena verytall mugis used. Donotusethe appliance for hotwaterpreparation.

Forhealth reasons, alwaysfill the watertankwith fresh drinking water.

Afteruse oftheappliance always remove thecapsule andclean thecapsule holder. Emptyand cleanthe drip trayand capsulebin daily.Usersallergic to dairyproducts: Rinse theapplianceaccord­ingtothe cleaning procedure.

Theheating element surface is subjecttoresidual heatafteruse andplastichousingsmay feel warm to touch several minutes uponuse.

Unplugfrom the mainspower socket whennotinuse.

Unplugfrom the mainspower socket beforecleaning. Allow to coolbefore puttingon ortaking off parts, beforecleaning the appli­ance.Never cleanwet or immerse appliance in any fluid. Never cleanthe appliance with runningwater. Neveruse detergentsto cleanthe appliance. Clean theapplianceonly using soft sponges/brushes.Thewater tank should be cleanedwitha clean food-safe brush.

Neverturn the machine upsidedown.

Ifaway forprolonged periods, onholiday, etc. theappliancemust beemptied, cleaned and unplugged. Rinsebefore reuse. Operate therinse cyclebefore re-using your appliance.

Donotturn offthe applianceduringthe descalingprocess.Rinse thewatertankand cleanthe appliancetoavoidany residual descalingagent.

Anyoperation, cleaningand care otherthannormal use must be undertakenby after-salesservice centres designated by NESCAFÉ®DolceGusto® hotline. Do notdismantleappliance anddo notput anything into openings.

In case ofintensive use withoutallowingsufficientcoolingtime, theappliancewill stop functioningtemporarilywith the redindic­atorlightblinking. Thisis toprotect yourappliancefrom over­heating. Switchthe appliance off for20 minutes toletit cool down.
24.
Donotoperate anyappliance with a damaged cord or plug. If the powercord is damaged, it mustbe replacedbythe manufacturer, itsserviceagentorsimilarlyqualified persons in ordertoavoid a hazard.Do not operateany appliance thatmalfunctionsorhas

beendamagedin anymanner. Unplug cord immediately. Return thedamaged appliance tothe nearest authorised service facility designatedby NESCAFÉ®DolceGusto®hotline.

Theuse of accessory attachments notrecommended by the appli­ancemanufacturermay result in fire, electric shockorinjurytoper­sons.

Donotletthe cord hang overtheedge of a tableor counter,ortouch hotsurfacesorsharp edges. Donotallow thecordto dangle(risk of tripping up). Nevertouchthe cord with wet hands.

Donotplace on orneara hot gasorelectric burner, orin a heated oven.
28.
Todisconnect, turn themachineoff, thenremovethe plug from the mainspower socket. Do not unplug by pullingthe cord.
29.
Alwaysinsert the capsuleholder in themachine toprepare a bever­age. Donotpull outthe capsule holderbefore theindicator stops blinking.The appliance will notworkifthe capsule holder is not inserted.
30.
Machinesequipped witha locking handle: Scalding mayoccur if thelockinghandle is opened duringthe brewing cycles. Do notpull upthe lockinghandle before thelights onthemachinestopflash­ing.

Donotput fingersunder theoutletduring beveragepreparation.

Donottouch theinjector of the machinehead.

Nevercarry the appliance by the machine head.

Thecapsuleholder isequipped with a permanentmagnet. Avoid placingthe capsuleholder near appliances and objectsthatcan be damagedbymagnetism, e.g. creditcards, USB drives andother datadevices, video tapes, televisionand computermonitors with picturetubes, mechanical clocks, hearing aidsandloud speakers.

Patientswith pacemakers ordefibrillators:Do not holdthe capsule holderdirectlyover the pacemaker ordefibrillator.

Ifthemains powersocketdoes notmatch theplug on theappli­ance,havethe plugreplaced with a suitable typebyaftersales ser­vicecentresdesignated byNESCAFÉ®Dolce Gusto® hotline.

Packagingismadeof recyclablematerials. Contactyourlocalcoun­cil /authority for further information on recycling programs. Your appliancecontains valuablematerials which canbe recovered or recycled.

MANUAL CLOSING
Close machine manually. Make sure that capsule holder is empty and drip tray is inserted at lowest position.
