The BL-1300 Series barcode readers are equipped with the following
safety measures.
• Laser radiation emission warning LED (LASER LED)
During laser emission, the LASER ON LED illuminates. The LED ON
status can be clearly visible through protective eyewear; specifically
designed for the wavelength of 660nm.
• Laser forced OFF command
Sending the laser forced OFF command to the BL-1300 can inhibit
emission of laser beams. When working near the laser transmitter, be
sure to use the laser forced OFF command to avoid looking into the
laser beams.
* When this command is selected, the bottom STABILITY LED flashes.

Precautions on use
•
The BL-1300 uses a 5 V DC power supply. Using a
different voltage level may damage the unit. When using
the KEYENCE power supply unit N-R2, N-R4, N-UB, N-L1,
NX-50 Series or DV-90 Series, select the voltage level
which can be supplied by the power supply unit. If a
nonconforming power supply is connected, the BL-1300
may be damaged.
• Before connecting or disconnecting the cable, be sure
to turn off any device connected to the BL-1300 Series.
Otherwise, the BL-1300 Series may be damaged.
• Do not disassemble or modify the BL-1300 Series, as
this may cause product failure.
• Locate cables as far as possible from high-voltage
lines and power lines. Otherwise, generated noise may
cause product failure or malfunctions.
•
Before mounting the BL-1300 Series, insulate the
mounting location. Otherwise, generated noise may cause
product failure or malfunctions.
• The BL-1300 is a
precision instrument.
