Con gratu lations! You r KB-IR1 IR k eyb o ard wi l l make it quicker an d easier for you to program disc and track titles into you r Kenwood 200 d i sc CD chan ger.
Since yo ur keybo ard duplicates the functions of th e remote co n trol that was included wit h yo ur CD chan g er, b efore using i t you shoul d r ead yo ur CD chan g er ’s instruction manual to b ecome familiar with all of th e d i fferent functio ns t h at can be co n trolled b y t h e remote an d keyboard .
1. Remo vin g the Battery Cover
Remove the battery cover by p r essing down on t h e embossed arrow and slid ing t he co ver o ff in th e directio n i n dicated by the arrow in the di ag r am to the right.

Set the DIP switches to m atch you r ch an ger’s mo d el acco rding t o the di ag r am to the right.

After r emoving the battery co ver an d setting the DIP swi tches as d escribed ab ove, i nsert 2 “ A A” b atteries (not inclu ded ) as shown in the di ag r am to the rig ht.
Replace b oth batt er ies with fresh ones when the “ Batt Low” indicator (located on the t op of th e k eyb o ard) is lit.
Battery I nformation
To maximize bat tery lif e, yo ur keybo ard has a Sleep Mode, an d is onl y “ o n ” when yo u are p ressin g a key. When yo u are n ot using yo u r k eyb oard store it so that the keys are not accidental­ly bei n g pressed.
If yo u’re n o t go ing t o be using yo ur keybo ard for a l ong p er iod of time, remove the batteries.
4. Oper at ing Range
W h en using yo u r keyboard , p oint i ts front edge (where t he IR t r an smitter i s located) to wards t h e CD ch an g er.
The keybo ard w il l operate u p to 2 0 feet away and 3 0 degress off-axis from you r CD player. If yo u use the k eyb o ard outside o f t h i s range, it may not fu nction properly. See t h e d i ag r am to the rig ht.

Discs can be gi ven n ames (up to 25 char acter s). On th e CD-3280M, CD-3260M, CD-2280M and CD-2260M, up to 20 tracks per di sc can also be nam ed (up to 15 char acter s each).
Althoug h the m ost con veni ent time to enter d isc and track names is wh en you i nsert the di scs into th e pl ayer for the fir st time, (that way th e pl ayer keeps tr ack of the di sc names fo r yo u as yo u i nser t t he discs), you can use th is pro cedur e to enter or chang e di sc and track names an y tim e you want.
