Thank you for your purchase of the Jabra Link EHS Adapter. This manual is intended to guide you through the steps needed to install the Jabra Link.

PLEASE NOTE YOU WILL N OT NEED ALL CABLES INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE. THE CABLES YOU NEED ARE LISTED AT THE START OF EACH PHONE SECTION.

To install your Jabra LINK solution

Settings:

1. Install your headset solution to your desk phone according to the headset manual.

2. Set “Clear dial tone switch” in “A” position - see headset manual.

3. Ensure your headset base unit EHS mode is setup to DHSG see headset manual*.

Connections:

4. With the cable included with your headset system, connect the phone socket in your headset base unit to the phone socket on your Jabra Link.

5. To ensure you select the right cable for your Avaya desktop phone, please see the cable matrix section. When you have selected

, B or C, connect the Headset/Handset socket(icon) on

either your Jabra Link to the headset socket(icon) on your desk phone.

6. With the cable marked purple ring tone detector socket in the Jabra Link, and place the ring

, connect the 2,5 mm jack to the

sensor as close as possible to the ringer sound outlet on your desk phone.

7. With the cable marked red headset base unit to the Jabra LINK AUX socket.

Note: When using the EHS adapter with Avaya phones, please note that the MFB button on your headset acts as the Master button for on- and o-hooking your telephone. This means that both devices can work independently, but the MFB may override the headset button on the telephone.

* If your base unit does not support DHSG mode, RHL mode (GN default AUX mode) can be used with limited functionality between phone and base unit – which means under installation you may need to do hook ON and OFF a couple of times before phone and base/headset are in sync. For RHL mode we recommend either to use your headset or phone to answer/end calls.

Settings:

1. Install your headset solution to your desk phone according to the headset manual.

2. Set “Clear dial tone switch” in “A” position - see headset manual.

3. Ensure your headset base unit EHS mode is setup to RHL see headset manual*.

Connections:

4. With the cable included with your headset system, connect the phone socket on your headset base unit to the headset socket on your Toshiba phone.

5. With the cable marked purple ring tone detector socket in the Jabra Link, and place the ring sensor as close as possible to the ringer sound outlet on your Toshiba phone. Some Toshiba Phones have the speaker placed in the center of the ring socket, others have it placed at the bottom of the socket, please modify the ring tone sensor accordingly to ensure the best working environment.

6. With the cable marked red headset base unit to the Jabra LINK AUX socket.

7. Pull out the headset from the base. You should now hear a dialtone.

8. Press the Multi-Function button on your headset. The phone should now go onhook, and no dialtone is heard

9. Keeping the headset on, have a colleague give you a call. You should hear a ringtone in the headset. Answer the call by pressing the Multi-Function button on the headset.

Note: The marked end of each cable must be connected to the Jabra LINK.

if Problems occur...

Problem What to do

My own voice is distorted when using the headset.

Microphone sensitivity has to be adjusted down. See headset manual.

The speaker output on the deskphone has to be turned down.

Check the connection between the “ Ring tone sensor “ and the Link; Or the ring tone on the phone has to be turned up.

Please check the “ COM or Headset and AUX “ connection to the phone and headset base.

Please check the “ COM or Headset “ connection to the phone.

Check the connection between the hub and the Dictaphone device.

Microphone sensitivity has to be adjusted down. See headset manual.

The speaker output on desk-phone has to be turned down.

This could be a power line interference problem - please verify that your recording device is not powered by a power supply supplied from 230VAC/110VAC.

If your phone is either an Avaya 96xx series or the Shoretel range, you can try placing the sensor on the back of your phone, aligned with the center of the sound outlet.

usiNg dictaPhoNe outPut

The dictaphone output can be used to record a conversation in both directions. A 2,5 mm Jack to 3,5 mm Jack cable is not included but can be ordered as an accessory (Part Number 14201-21).

cleaNiNg the Jabra liNK

Only use a soft – and, if necessary, slightly damp – cloth for cleaning the Jabra LINK. Do not use any solvents or cleansing agents as these can damage the varnish of the Jabra LINK.

5. Um sicherzustellen, dass Sie das richtige Kabel für Ihr AvayaTischtelefon wählen, lesen Sie bitte den Abschnitt Kabelmatrix. Sobald Sie entweder Sie die Headset/Telefonhörer-Buchse Ihres Jabra Link mit der Headsetbuchse (Symbol) an Ihrem Tischtelefon.

6. Stecken Sie den 2,5-mm-Klinkenstecker des violett Kabels in die Buchse für die Ruftonerkennung Ihres Jabra Link, und platzieren Sie den Ruftonsensor so nahe wie möglich am Ruftonlautsprecher Ihres Tischtelefons.

7. Verbinden Sie die AUX-Buchse Ihrer Headset-Basiseinheit über das rot

markierte Kabel mit der AUX-Buchse des Jabra Link.

Hinweis: Beachten Sie, dass bei Verwendung des EHS-Adapters mit Avaya-Telefonen die Taste „Rufannahme/Beenden“ an Ihrem Headset als Hauptschalter für die Funktionen Ihres Telefons zum Auegen und Abnehmen des Hörers dient. Das bedeutet, dass beide Geräte unabhängig voneinander funktionieren, die Taste „Rufannahme/Beenden“ jedoch die Funktionalität der Headset-Taste am Telefon außer Kraft setzen kann.

* Falls Ihre Basiseinheit den DHSG-Modus nicht unterstützt, können Sie stattdessen den RHL-Modus (standardmäßiger GN-AUX-Modus) mit eingeschränkter Funktionalität zwischen Telefon und Basiseinheit verwenden. Dabei müssen Sie bei der Installation den Hörer unter Umständen mehrmals auegen und abnehmen, bis sich Telefon und Basiseinheit bzw. Headset synchronisiert haben. Für den RHL-Modus wird empfohlen, entweder das Headset oder das Telefon zum Annehmen und Beenden von Anrufen zu verwenden.

1. Installieren Sie Ihre Headset-Lösung für Ihr Tischtelefon entsprechend den Anweisungen im Headset-Handbuch.

2. Stellen Sie den „Umschalter für ein klares Freizeichen“ auf Position „A“, siehe Headset-Handbuch.

3. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der EHS-Modus Ihrer HeadsetBasiseinheit auf RHL gestellt ist – siehe Headset-Handbuch*.

Verbindungen:

4. Verbinden Sie die Telefonbuchse Ihrer Headset-Basiseinheit über das im Lieferumfang des Headsets enthaltene Kabel mit der Headsetbuchse Ihres Toshiba-Telefons.

5. Stecken Sie den 2,5-mm-Klinkenstecker des violett Kabels in die Buchse für die Ruftonerkennung Ihres Jabra Link, und platzieren Sie den Ruftonsensor so nahe wie möglich am Ruftonlautsprecher Ihres Toshiba-Telefons. Bei einigen Telefonen von Toshiba sitzt der Lautsprecher in der Mitte, bei anderen im unteren Bereich. Platzieren Sie den Ruftonsensor entsprechend für optimale Ergebnisse.

6. Verbinden Sie die AUX-Buchse Ihrer Headset-Basiseinheit über
