Note: Save all packaging materials. Your warranty requires that the server be
returned in the original packaging.

Installation overview

Warning:

Observe the following precautions when handling Vision Server TIGW1U equipment:
Server power ON/OFF: The push-button on/off power switch on the front panel of the

server does not turn off the power. To remove power from the server, you must unplug
the power cord from either the power supply or wall outlet.

Hazardous conditions

• Power supply:

Hazardous voltage, current, and energy levels are present inside the power supply
enclosure.

• Devices and cables:

Hazardous electrical conditions may be present on power, telephone, and
communication cables. Turn off the server and disconnect telecommunications
systems, networks, modems, and the power cord attached to the server before
opening it. Otherwise, personal injury or equipment damage can result.

Maintenance: There are no user-serviceable parts inside the Vision Server TIGW1U
chassis. Only technically qualified personnel should perform service and maintenance
tasks.

Avoid injury: Lifting the server chassis and attaching it to the rack is a two-person job. If
needed, use an appropriate lifting device.

Weights

A Vision Server TIGW1U with no line card interfaces weighs approximately:

• Equipment only: 11.77 kg (25.94 lbs)

• Shipping weight: 14.36 kg (31.66 lbs)

• Universal rack mount kit: 1.81 kg (4.01 lbs)

• Actual mounting hardware: 1.40 kg (3.08 lbs)
