Production Configuration

This section contains information needed to order and configure the Intel® Server System SC5650HCBRP, Intel® Workstation System SC5650SCWS, and Intel® Server Chassis SC5600, SC5650 Family with Intel® Server Board S5520HC, S5520HCT and S5500HCV and Intel® Workstation Board S5520SC.

1) Production boxed Intel Server Boards contain the following:

 One baseboard with unified back plate assembly  ATX I/O shield  Cables: Serial B (COM2), 4 SAS/SATA cables  Resource CD-ROM with utilities, drivers, documentation and technical information*  Quick Start User’s Guide and Quick Reference Label  ISMS CD*  Compatible with Intel® Xeon® processor 5500 series & 5600 series

2) Production OEM 10-packs of Intel Server Boards contain the following:

 One baseboard with unified back plate assembly  Compatible with Intel® Xeon® processor 5500 series & 5600 series

3) The production SC5600LX KDK is compatible with the Intel

includes:  Redundant (1+1) PMBus-compliant 750W high efficiency PFC power supply with dual line cord support (2nd

redundancy 750W high efficiency PFC module included)

 Four redundant, hot-swap fans and ducting  Support for six tool-free non hot-swap hard drives. Upgradeable to 10 cabled or 10 (6+4 configuration) hot-

swap SAS or SATA drives.

 Quick Start User’s Guide and Configuration Label  Cables (one each):

o Front Panel Cable (baseboard header to front panel) o USB Cable (USB header to chassis front panel) o COM2 Cable o Adapter Cable providing two additional SATA power connectors o AC power cords are included only in SC5600LXNA

 Five Bumpers for installing Intel® Server Board S5520HC or S5500HCV  The Intel® Server Chassis SC5600LX is designed to work with Intel® Xeon® processor 5500 series with

95W maximum power or with Intel® Xeon® processor 5600 series with 130W maximum power and FXXRGTHSINK or FXXRGTHS tower heat sink accessory (required).

4) The production Intel

Server Chassis SC5600BRP KDK is compatible with the Intel® Server Boards S5520HC

and S5500HCV. it includes:  Redundant (1+1) PMBus-compliant 750W high efficiency PFC power supply with dual line cord support

(2nd redundancy 750W high efficiency PFC module included)

 Three non-redundant fixed cooling fans with ducting  Support for six tool-free non hot-swap hard drives. Upgradeable to 10 cabled or 10 (6+4 configuration) hot-

 Non-redundant 670W PFC power supply  Three non-redundant fixed cooling fans with ducting  Support for six tool free non hot-swap hard drives. Upgradeable to 6 hot-swap SAS or SATA.  Quick Start User’s Guide and Configuration Label  Cables (one each):

o Front Panel Cable (baseboard header to front panel) o USB Cable (USB header to chassis front panel) o COM2 Cable o Adapter Cable providing two additional SATA power connectors o AC power cord is included only with SC5600BASENA.

 Five Bumpers for installing Intel® Server Board S5520HC, S5500HCV, and Intel® Workstation Board

 The Intel® Server Chassis SC5600BASE is designed to work with Intel® Xeon® processor 5500 series with

95W maximum power or with Intel® Xeon® processor 5600 series with 130W maximum power, and is compatible with BXSTS100C (Combo) or BXSTS100A (Active) heat sink.

Workstation Chassis SC5650WS SKU is compatible with the Intel® Workstation Board

S5520SC. It includes:

 Non-redundant 1000W high efficiency PFC power supply  Three non-redundant fixed cooling fans with ducting  Support for six tool-free non hot-swap hard drives. Upgradeable to hot swap SAS/SATA 6-drive bay.  Quick Start User’s Guide  Cables (one each):

o Front Panel Cable (baseboard header to front panel) o USB Cable (USB header to chassis front panel) o Adapter Cable providing two additional SATA power connectors o AC power cord is included only with SC5650WSNA

 Chassis intrusion switch assembly  Five Bumpers for installing Intel® Workstation Board S5520SC.  The chassis is designed to work with Intel® Xeon® processor 5500 series & 5600 series with 130W

maximum power, and is compatible with BXSTS100C (Combo) or BXSTS100A (Active) heat sink.

7) The production Intel

Server Chassis SC5650DP SKU is compatible with the Intel® Server Board S5520SC,

S5500HCV, and S5500BC. It includes:

 Non-redundant 600W PFC power supply  Three non-redundant fixed cooling fan with ducting  Support for six tool-free non hot-swap hard drives. Upgradeable to hot swap SAS/SATA 6-drive bay.

Note: Check the Power budget spreadsheet for supportable hard drive, memory and PCI configurations.

redundancy requires additional 600W module purchased separately)

 Redundant (1+0) PMBus-compliant 600W high efficiency PFC power supply with dual line cord support (full

redundancy requires additional 600W module purchased separately)

 Chassis intrusion switch assembly (pre-routed)  The workstation system is designed to work with Intel® Xeon® processor 5500 series & 5600 series with

130W maximum power, and is compatible with boxed STS100C (Combo) or STS100A (Active) heat sink.

11) Common accessories include:

Hot Swap Drive Bays:

– AXX6DRV3GEXP: Expander-based 6-drive bay that supports SAS/SATA drives. Requires two free

SAS ports from the SAS module or SAS RAID card.

– AXX4DRV3GEXP: Expander-based 4-drive bay that supports SAS/SATA drives. Requires two free

SAS ports from the SAS module or SAS RAID card. Only supported in Intel® Server Chassis SC5600BRP, and SC5600LX.

– AXX6DRV3GR: 6-drive bay that supports SAS/SATA drives. Requires six free SAS or SATA ports.

SAS hard drive support requires SAS connectors from a SAS module or SAS RAID Card. Support 6Gb SAS Hard Drives with compatible 6Gb SAS adapters

– AXX4DRV3GR: 4-drive bay that supports SAS/SATA drives. Requires four free SAS or SATA ports.

SAS hard drive support requires SAS connectors from a SAS module or SAS RAID Card. Only supported in Intel® Server Chassis SC5600BRP and SC5600LX. Support 6Gb SAS Hard Drives with compatible 6Gb SAS adapters.

AXX750WPS: Spare 750W power supply module for Intel® Server Chassis SC5600LX and SC5600BRP ARIGRACK: Rack conversion kit (SC5600BASE, SC5600BRP and SC5600LX) APP3RACKIT: Rack conversion kit (SC5600 chassis family). AXXRAKSW5: Intel® RAID Activation Key AXXRAKSW5 to enable Intel Embedded RAID technology II for SAS

and/or SATA Software RAID 5 on S5520HC, S5500HCV, and S5520SC boards.
