Installing the batteries

Notes
- Do not mix old and new batteri es.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carb on-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
- Dispose of batteries according to local environmental laws.
When the batteries are low, the LCD will start flashing and eventually shut off.
1 Press the ON/OFF button to turn off the radio, then replace the
batteries.
Note
Time and memory will be saved if you change the batteries within two minutes.
2 Open the battery compartment door located on the back of your
radio.
3 Insert two AAA batteries, making sure that the + and – on the
batteries match the + and – inside the battery compartment.
4 Replace the battery compartment door.

Operating your radio

To operate your armband radio: 1 Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the radio.
2 Press the BAND button to select AM or FM.
3 Insert the headphone plug into the Phone Jack.
Note
Your headphones’ soft wire works as the antenna for FM reception. You may need to extend the wire to obtain the best reception.
To listen to your radio: 1 Press and release the TUNE UP or TUNE DN button to go to the
next radio station.
2 Press and hold the TUNE UP or TUNE DN button to scan for the
next radio station with clear reception.
3 Press the volume control button + or – to adjust the volume.

4 Press and release the STEREO/TIME SET button to select Stereo
or Mono mode.
Note
Stereo mode is only available when listening to FM radio stations.
To manually store stations: 1 Press the BAND button to select AM or FM.
2 Press the TUNE UP or TUNE DN button to select the radio station
you want.
3 Press the MEMORY button. The PRESET Indicator on the LCD
flashes.
4 Press the PRESET button to select the preset channel you want.
5 Press the MEMORY button again to store the station as a preset.
6 Repeat Steps 1 to 5 to store additional stations.
Note
You can store up to 10 AM and 10 FM radio stations into preset numbers (erasing any preset stations).

To recall preset stations within the selected band:
•Press the PRESET button to go to a stored station.

Using Hold

1 Set the HOLD switch to ON and all buttons will be disabled. The
Hold indicator appears on the LCD.
2 Set the HOLD switch to OFF to enable all buttons.

Setting the time

1 Turn off the radio.
2 Press and hold the STEREO/TIME SET button.
3 Press the TUNE UP button (hour) to set the hour, then press the
TUNE DN button (minute) to set the minute.
4 Press the STEREO/TIME SET button to exit Time Set mode.
Note
You cannot set the time during power on mode.

Using the belt clip

• To release the belt clip, pull the top end of the belt clip outward, then hold it and slide it down gently.

Troubleshooting

• Start with the volume control at a low setting.

ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

Definitions:

The Distributor* of Insignia bra nded products warrants to you, the original purcha ser of this new Insignia­branded product (“Product ”), that the Product shall be free of defects in the original manufacturer of the material or workmanship for a per iod of one (1) year from the date of your purchase of the Produ ct (“Warranty Period”). For this warranty to apply, your Product must be purchased in the United States or Canada from a B est Buy branded retail store or online at www.bestbuy.com or www.bestbuy.ca, and is packaged with this warranty statement.

How long does the coverage last?

The Warranty Period lasts for 1 year (365 days) from th e date you purchased the Product. Your purchase date is pr inted on the recei pt you received wi th the Produc t.

What does this warranty cover?

During the Warranty Period, if the original manufacture of the material or workmanship of the Product is determined to be defective by an auth orized Insignia repair center or store personnel, Insignia will (at its sole option): (1) repair the Product with new or rebuilt parts; or (2) replace the Product at no charge with new or rebuilt comparable products or p arts. Products and parts replaced under thi s warranty become the property of Insignia and a re not returned to you. If service of Products or parts are required after the Warranty Period expires, you must pay all labor and parts charges. This warranty last s as long as you own your Insignia Produc t during the Warranty Period. Warranty coverage termi nates if you sell or otherwi se transfer the Product.

How to obtain warranty service?

If you purchased the Product at a Best Buy retail store location, please take your original receipt and the Product to any Best Buy store. Make sure that you place the Produ ct in its original packaging or packa ging that provides the same amount of protect ion as the original packaging. If you purchased the Product from a Best Buy online web site (w ww.bestbuy.com or www.bestbuy.ca), mail your original receipt and the Product to the address listed on the web site. Make sure that you put the Product in its original packaging or packaging that provides the same amo unt of protection as the original packaging. To obtain warranty service, in the United States call 1-888 -BESTBUY or in Canada call 1-866-BESTBUY. Call agents may diagnose and correct the issue over the phone.

Where is the warranty valid?

This warranty is valid only in the United States and Canada at B est Buy branded retail stores or websites to the original purchaser of the product in the county where the original purchase was made.

What does the warranty not cover?

This warranty does n ot cover:
• Cus tomer instruction/education
•Installation
•Set up adjustments
• Cosmetic damage
• D amage due to weather, lightning, and other acts of God, such as power surges
• Accidental damage
•Misuse
•Abuse
•Negligence
• Commercial purposes/use, including but not limited to use in a place of business or in communal areas of a multiple
dwelling condominium or apartment complex, or otherwise used in a place of other than a private home.
• Mo dification of any part of the Product, including the antenna
• D isplay panel damaged by static (non-moving) images applied for lengthy periods (burn-in).

• D amage due to incorrect operation or maintenance
• Connec tion to an incorrect voltage or power supply
• Attempted repair by any person not authorized by Insignia to service the Product
• Products sold “as is” or “with all faults”
• Consumables, including but not limited to batteries (i.e. AA, AAA, C, etc.)
• Produc ts where the factory applied serial number has been altered or removed
• Loss or The ft of this product or any part of the product
• D isplay panels containing up to three (3) pixel failures (dots that are dark or incorrectly illuminated) grouped in an area
smaller than one tenth (1/10) of the display size or up to five (5) pixel failures throughout the display. (Pixel based displays may contain a limited number of pixels that may not func tion normally.)
• Failures or Damage cau sed by any contact including but not limited to liquids, gels or pastes.
REPAIR REPLACEMENT AS PROVIDED UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR BREACH OF WARRANTY.
