In this license agreement (the “License Agreement”), you (either individual or an entity), the purchaser of the license rights granted by this License Agreement, are referred to as “licensee” or “You”. Honest Technology is referred to as the “Licensor”. The current version of the accompanying software (“Software”) and documentation (“Documentation”) are collectively referred to as the “Licensed Product”. Licensor may furnish hardware with the Licensed Product (“Hardware”)
1. License
In accordance with the terms and conditions of this License Agreement, the Software is the property of the Licensor and is protected by Copyright Law. While the Licensor continues to own the Software, the Licensor grants the Licensee, after Licensee’s acceptance of this License Agreement, the Limited, non-exclusive license to use on copy of the current version of Licensed Product as described below.
The Software is “used” on a computer when it is loaded into the temporary memory (i.e., RAM) or
installed into the permanent memory (e.g., hard disk, CD-ROM, or other storage device) of that computer, except that a copy installed on a network server for the sole purpose of distribution to
another computer is not considered “in use”. Except as may be modified by a license addendum which accompanies this License Agreement, the Licensee’s rights and obligations with respect to the use of
this Software are as follows:
You May,
1. Use the Software for commercial or business purposes in the manner described in the Documentation.
2. Use the Software to share Internet connection, transfer data, files and images among the computer in the manner described in the Documentation.
You May Not,
I. Copy the documentation that accompanies Software. II. Sublicense or lease any portion of the Software. III. Make illegal duplication of the software.
2. Copyright and Trade Secrets. All rights in and to the Licensed Product including, but not limited to, copyrights and trade secrets rights, belong to Licensor, and Licensor holds title to each copy of the Software. The licensed Product is protected by United States Copyright Laws and international treaty Provisions.
3. Term. This License Agreement is effective until terminated. Licensee may terminate this License Agreement if Licensee breaches any of the terms and conditions herein. Upon termination of this License Agreement for any reason, Licensee shall return to Licensor or otherwise destroy the Licensed Product and all copies of the Licensed Product. Upon request of Licensor, Licensee agrees to certify in writing that all copies of the Software have been destroyed or returned to Licensor. All provisions of this Agreement relating to disclaimers of warranties, limitation of liability, remedies, or damages, and Licensor’s proprietary rights shall survive termination.
4. Executable Code. The Software is delivered in executable code only. Licensee shall not reverse engineer, compile or otherwise disassemble the Software.

5. Limited Warranty
a. Licensor does not warrant that the functions contained in the Licensed Product and Hardware
will meet Licensee’s requirements or that the operation of the Software and Hardware will be
uninterrupted or error-free. Licensor does warrant that the media on which the Software is furnished and the hardware will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal
use for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of delivery (“Warranty Period”). This Limited
Warranty is void of failure of the media on which the Software is furnished has resulted from accident, abuse, or misapplications.
b. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE, THE LICENSED PRODUCT IS PROVIDED “AS IS”
WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE LICNESED PRODUCT AND HARDWARE IS WITH LICENSE.
6. Limitation of Liability
a. Licensor’s sole obligation or liability and licensee’s exclusive remedy under this agreement shall
be the replacement of the defective media on which the software is furnished and/or the hardware according to the limited warranty above.
b. In no event will licensor be liable for any consequential, incidental or indirect damages including,
without limitation, any loss of data or information, loss of profits, loss savings, business interruption or other pecuniary loss, arising out of use of or liability to use the software or documentation or any hardware, even if licensor has been advised of the possibility of such damages, or for any claim by any third party.
7. General
a. Any Software and Hardware provided to Licensee by Licensor shall not be exported or re-
exported in violation of any export provisions of the United States or any other applicable jurisdiction. Any attempt to sublicense, assign or transfer any of the rights, duties or obligations hereunder is void. This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States of America, without regard to its conflicts of law provisions. Licensor and Licensee agree that the U.N. Convention on Contracts for the International Sales of Goods shall not apply to this License Agreement.
b. This License Agreement may only be modified or amended by a written license addendum that
accompanies this License Agreement or by written document that has been signed by both you and Licensor. Site licenses and other types of enterprise licenses are available upon request. Pleas contact Licensor or your supplier for further information.
c. Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this Agreement, or the breach of this
Agreement, shall be settled by arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association in accordance with its Commercial Arbitration Rules and Judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. The arbitration shall be held in New Jersey, United States of America.

1. Introduction
1.1. Features
honestech DVD Player automatically determines the type of disc in your DVD drive and uses the correct playback method for the DVD. honestech DVD Player also provides the following features.
Easy-to-use user interface that displays the movie title, chapter, and playback time. Movie Slide function to jump to a different scene, or capture screen shots. Supports SPDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface). View Angle feature allows you to change the viewing angle of the movie. Easily change the skins of honestech DVD Player. Supports Dolby Digital Audio (AC-3 and Dolby Pro Logic )
o AC-3 Digital Audio - Dolby Digital
Based upon the transform coding techniques and psychoacoustic principles of the AC-2 system, Dolby Digital (AC-3) provides flexible coding of up to 5.1 audio channels (five full-range channels plus a low­frequency effects channel) at a variety of data rates.
o Dolby Pro Logic II
Dolby Surround Pro Logic II is the next generation in Dolby Surround decoding. Through the use of an elegant new approach to matrix surround decoding, Pro Logic II not only bridges the gap between Pro Logic and Dolby Digital, but also decodes all existing Dolby Surround programs with improved spatiality and directionality.

2. honestech DVD Player Installation
2.1. Insert the installation CD into your CD/DVD drive. The following welcome screen will appear. Click [Next >] to continue.
2.2. End-User License Agreement screen will appear as shown below. Read the agreement and if you accept the agreement, select “I accept the items of the license agreement” and click [Next >] to continue.

2.3. When “Choose Destination Location” screen appears,, select the default folder setting or
change the installation folder by clicking [Browse…]. Click [Next >] to continue.
2.4. The “Select Program Folder” screen will be displayed. Accept the default Program Folder
or choose/create your own Program Folder. Click [Next >] to continue.

2.5. The Setup Status screen will be displayed to show the installation progress.
2.6. Click [Finish] to complete the installation process.

3. Product Registration
Go to Help menu and select Product registration.
Click [Register Online] to register your product. If you prefer to mail or fax us the product registration form, please select [PDF Format] or [Word Format] to download the product registration forms
After entering the product key, a registration key will be displayed on the screen and sent to you via email. Go back to the Help menu and select “Enter registration key”. Enter the registration key that

The following sections will explain the basic features and how to use the honestech DVD Player. Please use the Context Menu screen (displayed when you right-click on honestech DVD Player contol panel) for reference.

4.1. Open DVD or file
You can open a DVD movie or video file by clicking on the “Open” button [ ] from the
honestech DVD Player, or by selecting Disc from the Context Menu*.
When you click the “Open” button, the “Open menu” [ ] will appear.
Select “Disc” to watch a DVD or select “File Open” to watch a video file.
* Access the Context Menu by right-clicking anywhere on the control panel of the honestech
DVD Player. The Context menu [ ] will appear. Select Disc to play a
DVD or select “File Open” to play a video file.

1) Root Menu: Go to the main menu of the DVD disc.

4.5. Screen Capture
1) Use the Capture button [ ] or Snap Screen [S] from the Context Menu to
capture a snapshot of the video playing on the view screen and save it as an image file. Captured screen images will be saved to the "Snaps" folder located within the program folder where the DVD player was installed.
2) Select "Snap Viewer" from the context menu to view and manage captured screen
images.
4.6. Movie Jump
The bar displays the current movie position/progress. Jump to a different point in a movie by clicking within the Position bar.

5. Using honestech DVD Player Advanced Functions
This section will explain the advanced features of the honestech DVD Player. Most of these features can be accessed from the Context Menu screen (displayed when you right-click on honestech DVD Player control panel). Certain features may not be supported depending on the DVD Title that you are using.

5.1. Subtitle
Use the Subtitle option from the Context Menu, to select a subtitle language from the list available on the DVD.

Use the Language option from the Context Menu to select a soundtrack language from the list available on the DVD.

5.3. Angle
Select Angle from the Context Menu to access and view additional scene angles available from the DVD.
Note: Changing angles may or may not be possible depending on the DVD.
Note: The number of angles may vary from disc to disc
5.4. Closed Caption
Select Closed Caption from the Context Menu or press [ALT + C] to enable the closed caption features.

5.5. Menu Language
Use the Menu Language option from the Context Menu to select a different language for the DVD menus. *Limited to the Menu Language options available on the DVD.
5.6. SPDIF
Select the SPDIF option from the Context Menu to enable the SPDIF audio interface. SPDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface), is a digital audio interface which supports 6-speaker audio system. To use this feature, you must have a SPDIF compatible sound card and Dolby Digital/DTS decoder.
Note: When using SPDIF, the volume CANNOT be controlled by the honestech DVD Player, instead you must use the volume control on the Digital/DTS decoder.

5.7. Audio Setting
Select Audio Settings from the Context Menu to access additional audio settings.
When you click on “Audio Settings”, the following window will be displayed.

1. Karaoke: select the vocal setting - left vocals, right vocal, or both vocals.
2. Output Mode: 8 options available - 1+1(Ch1, Ch2), 1/0(C), 2/0(L, R), 3/0(L, C, R),
2/1(L, R, S), 3/1(L, C, R, S), 2/2(L, R, SL, SR), and 3/2(L, C, R, SL, SR). Select the appropriate option depending on your speaker system and setup.
3. Low Frequency: Dolby Digital feature which supports 0.1 channel’s sub-woofer
including LFE (Low Frequency Effect) of 20~120 Hz bandwidth.
4. Compression Mode: compression mode with Dolby Digital decoder; two options to
choose from (line out, and RF REMOD).
5. Stereo Mode: two options to choose from; Dolby Surround compatible mode and
Stereo mode.

6. Dual Mono mode: Choose from - Stereo, Left mono, Right mono, or Mixed mono.
7. Dynamic Range Compression: available for DVDs that support Dolby Digital
technology. Provides additional sound control with the use of up to 11 audio frequency band adjustments.

9. Default - [ ] : Restore default audio settings.

5.8. Snap Viewer
Select Snap Viewer from the Context Menu to view and manage screen captures.
1) Select Report to view your screen captures as a detailed list.
2) Select Icon to view your screen captures as thumbnail images.
3) Select the Left and Right Arrows to Adjust thumbnail image size.
4) Select Delete to delete selected image files (multi-selectable).

5.9. Parental Control Password
Set a unique password to prevent non-authorized users from using the honestech DVD Player.

Five skin types are available: Default, Mickey, Ogre, Pumpkin, or Rarity.

Uninstall using program group:
START PROGRAMS honestech DVD Player Uninstall honestech DVD Player.
Select “Uninstall honestech DVD Player”. Then click [Yes] to begin uninstalling.
