Thank you for purchasing the Haer PH50B™ phono stage,
one of the best sounding and most versatile phono preamps
ever made. The PH50B will boost the signal from your turntable and apply the necessary RIAA curve, allowing you to
connect to a HIFI playback system, a pro audio console input
or a recording interface.
Before making any connections, make sure your audio system
is turned off. This will help avoid loud turn-on and connection
transients that can damage more sensitive components such
as tweeters.
The Haer PH50B is designed for a turntable that is equipped
with a standard moving magnet cartridge, allowing for high
quality playback over balanced or unbalanced outputs. If your
turntable is equipped with a moving coil cartridge, please consider purchasing the PH60B, which is specically designed for
these types of cartridges.

ABOUT MOVING MAGNET
CARTRIDGES
Moving magnet (MM) cartridges
tend to produce a lush, mellow
sound. Most MM cartridges have
replaceable styli. Their high voltage
output, variety, and the availability
of stylus replacement make moving
magnet cartridges a great choice for
the beginner and audiophile alike.
The Haer PH50B is specically designed for moving magnet cartridges.
It will boost the signal to produce a -10 dB output while incorporating
a well dened RIAA curve preserve and transmit the original program
material with minimal coloration.

ABOUT THE RIAA EQUALIZATION CURVE
The Recording Institute Association of America (RIAA) gured out that in
order to reproduce the recording effectively, the high frequencies have to
be exaggerated. Upon playback, the reverse lter must then be applied –
resulting in a at or natural sound.
