Prepare Your SecureStart™ Before First Use
STEP 1:
is connected with a wire connector to the SecureStart by pulling the connecting wire out. Discard this 13-cell alkaline battery pack.
STEP 2: Depress the fuel gauge switch, if the fuel gauge shows green light, just
recharge the SecureStart™ (skip to Step-4). If fuel gauge shows orange or red light, complete Step-3 and 4 as follows.

STEP 3:
Replace 13 pieces of AA alkaline batteries.
- locate battery cover on back of the SecureStart and push cover slightly in direction of arrow. Remove cover.
- remove 13 pieces of AA batteries and replace with the fresh AA Alkaline batteries. Orientate batteries according to directions indicated in bottom of battery compartment.
- slide battery cover over battery compartment until cover locks in place.
STEP 4:
immediately.
Charge your SecureStart™ by using car adaptor or wall adaptor (not provided)
By Car Adaptor - 4 hours cumulatively (with engine running) or permanently plugged-in:
Plug the car adaptor into t he cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle. Plug the
other end of the car adaptor cable jack into the DC charging socket on SecureStart™.
Charging will start only when the engine is ignited.
During charging your SecureStart with the car adaptor, the green LED on the car adaptor will remain on showing that there is power from the cigarette lighter socket. To maximize SecureStart™ performance, permanent plugged-in charging is recommended.

On-Charge Display with car adaptor may change color randomly due to fluctuation of alternator voltage. Please ignore the color changes.
By Wall Adaptor (not provided) - minimum 4 hours or permanently plugged-in charging:
Plug the DC jack of the adaptor into the DC charging socket on SecureStart™. Your SecureStart™ will begin charging upon switching the AC outlet to “O N” .
To maximize SecureStart™ performance, permanent plugged-in charging is recommended.

When to Recharge Your SecureStart™
It is mandatory to recharge SecureStart™ immediately after used. SecureStart™ is incorporated with smart charging system as to prevent overcharging. Therefore permanent (float/trickle) plugged-in charging is highly recommended.
Simply press and hold the fuel-gauge switch to observe the LED color on the fuel-gauge indicator.
GREEN : Ready to jump-start ORANGE/RED/ : Immediately recharge your SecureStart™ and replace 13 pieces of AA

To ensure successful instant jump-starting, check the fuel-gauge indicator monthly.
Recharge your SecureStart™ immediately when the Orange or Red light is on.
Recharging of SecureStart™ is required monthly and is more frequently during summer
when temperature exceeds 29°C (85°F). It is recommended to store your SecureStart™ in a cool, dry location to maximize its performance.
Failure to follow the charging instructions may shorten your unit’s service life.
Jump-Starting Your Vehicle
NOTE: Use SecureStart™ only on gasoline-powered engines with a 12-volt cranking system. Read all instructions and safety warnings before use.
1. Turn vehicle ignition switch to OFF before accessing battery in vehicle or connecting cable clamps to vehicle battery.
2. Open hood of vehicle and position SecureStart™ away from fan blades, belts, pulleys or any other moving parts.
3. Connect the Red positive (+) cable clamp first to the vehicle battery’s positive (+) terminal. Rotate clamp slightly to ensure a good connection.
4. Connect the Black negative (-) cable clamp last to vehicle chassis, engine block, hanging hook or other unpainted, non-moving metal surface that is away from the vehicle battery. Rotate clamp slightly to ensure a good connection.
