SPLIT DUCT COUPLING INSTALLATION
For coupling P/N’s 70692,70693,70694,70695
1. Using a tubing cutter, square cut the end of each duct and
remove burrs.
2. Place 3 to 5 wraps of vinyl tape
around the middle of the butted duct
ends. Avoid using more than 5 wraps
and keep the tape in the area of the rubber seal, away from the threaded areas of the coupler.
The seal in the coupler keeps the tape pressed tightly
to the butted joint to provide
the air-tight seal.
3. Place the bottom half of the coupler (half with-
out the bolts) under the butted duct ends with the
taped area in the middle of the rubber seal on the
coupler.
4. Place the top half over the duct and screw
the bolts into the bottom half finger tight.
Alternately tighten the bolts until clamp is tight.
