CAUTION: this telephone is specifically designed for people with hearing difficulties and is provided with a handset earpiece volume control for individual requirements. Due care must be taken by all users that the handset earpiece volume control is set to the lowest level acceptable by each respective user. Care should therefore be exercised to ensure that any naive users are familiar with this requirement.

1 - Connecting the telephone
(*) Classified TNV-3 according to EN60950 standard.
SETTING UP
- Connect the handset cord.
- Open the battery door by turning around the locking tab. Insert 4 alkaline batteries (type AA 1.5V, not supplied) in the compartment (*). Batteries are required if you wish to increase the ringer level up to 10 dB and if you wish to use the “Mechanical Bell” ringer. Battery door back in place and turn the tab to lock the lid in place.
- Connect the line cord plug into the line socket into the rear of the unit (*).
- Connect the other end of the line cord into the wall PTT socket (*).
2 - Ringer volume setting
A switch located on the right side allows the ringer to be switched to Hi, Low or Off:
: Off
: Low
: Hi
: LOUD
Note: The ring level will be increased of 10 dB if you insert batteries.

3 – Ringer Tone / Time Break Recall setting

(300/100)
The phone is equipped with “Mechanical Bell” ringers which can be
selected between UK (tring..tring) & European (triiiiiiiiiiiing) style bells, via the switch located in the battery compartment.
The mechanical bell sound is functional only when the batteries are inserted and are not run down.
If there are no batteries or the batteries are “low” the Battery low indicator flashes and the ringer sound will be the normal two tone electronic ring.
Your phone works with a time break recall for United Kingdom (R=100msec). It can be switched to 300msec for other locations or PBXs. Use the same switch as used to select the Ringer tone, to select the Recall time
4 – Auto Dial Switch
When this switch is in ON position ( ), upon lifting the handset the phone will automatically dial out the number stored in the SOS memory if no other dial button is pressed for 4 seconds. Set this switch as per your requirement.
5 – Auto On Hook
When this switch is in the On position ( ) , the phone will automatically go On Hook (disconnect the telephone line) when the person at the other end disconnects the line, even if the handset is not replaced on the cradle.
In case the handset is removed from the cradle and there is a phone call, the phone will still ring as usual. To answer the call, pick up the handset, press and release the hook button once.

1 - Receiving volume and tone adjustment
VOLUME AND TONE ADJUSTMENT
You can increase the volume and adjust the receiving tone according to your own hearing requirements.
The button (AMPLIFY ON/OFF switch) allows extra receiving and tone functions to be activated or not during the conversation.
When the function is activated, the red light of extra receiving and tone function located near the REDIAL/RECALL buttons is lit.
Adjust the TONE and VOLUME buttons to fit the levels to your own hearing requirements.

Note: When the tone (treble), earpiece volume and sending levels

are set to the maximum, whistling may occur. Then the sending level settings should be decreased with the switch .
When the switch located under the phone is ON ( ), the extra­receiving and tone functions are automatically activated each time
you use the phone. When this switch is OFF ( ), you will need to activate the function by switching the button to ON ( ).
Tone and volume (15dB to 30dB) adjustment is only activated when the button is set to ON ( ). When this button is set to OFF
( ) only the volume can be adjusted from 0dB to 15dB.
2 - Sending volume adjustment
If your voice is quiet or called parties have difficulty hearing you, you can increase the sending level volume with the switch located on the hand side. You can also decrease the sending volume if required.

hearing aid to the T setting.
1 -Answer a call
- When an incoming call is received the phone will ring and flash, to answer the call lift the handset and speak.
- On completion of the call, carefully replace the handset in the cradle to release the line. See also section on Auto/Manual switch
2 - Making a call
- Lift the handset.
- Await the dial tone and dial the required number.
- On completion of the call, carefully replace the handset in the cradle. See also section on Auto Dial On/Off switch
3 - Last number redial
- Lift the handset.
- Await the dial tone and press button.
- The previously dialled number will be automatically redialled (not in use for memory numbers).
Note: If Auto Dial On/Off switch is set to ON position ( ), if the Last Number Redial Button is not pressed within 4 secs of lifting the handset, the number stored in SOS memory will automatically dial out.
4 - Recall (R), * & # buttons
These are used with the new services provided on digital exchanges. For details please contact your network operator.

5 - Storing telephone numbers
USING THE PHONE
Your telephone has a SOS memory button with 112 stored as default
This SOS number can be changed to a number of your choice which can be up to 18 digits. To change the SOS memory:
Remove the handset from the cradle Press the Hidden STORE button located inside the battery
compartment
Use the dial keypad to enter the new number Press SOS memory button Replace the handset on the cradle
6 - Dialing stored numbers
- Lift the handset and await the dial tone.
- Press the SOS button, the stored number will be dialled automatically.
Note: If Auto Dial On/Off switch is set to ON position ( ), if a telephone number key is not pressed within 4 seconds of lifting the handset, the number stored in SOS memory will automatically dial out.
