Thedeviceorsystemislabeledundertheoriginalequipmentmanufacturer’slabel(for example,UL,CEEULVD2006/95/EC)anddeemedsufcientbyGEHealthcaretobe incompliancewithEN/IEC60601-1(clause3.201.2foruseofnon-medicaldevices inamedicalsystem),whenusedaccordingtothedeviceorsystem’sintendeduse. HardwaresuppliedbyGEHealthcaremeetstheapplicablecountryrequirementsfor InformationTechnologyEquipment(ITE).
InformationTechnologyEquipmentRequirements
Thehardwarecomponentsofthesystemarenotconsideredmedicalequipment. TheyareconsideredInformationTechnologyEquipment(ITE).Thesystem’sindividual componentscomplywiththestandardsforSafetyofInformationTechnology Equipment(forexample,UL60950-1,EN/IEC60950-1).
Ifyouusethesysteminapatient’svicinity,itmustcomplywiththestandard requirementsformedicalsystems(thatis,EN/IEC60601-1).

IftheOptimaEMSsystemisusingaremoteOptimaEMSdatabase,theOptimaEMS serverrequiresaccesstotheOptimaEMSdatabases.Thisrequiresthefollowing portsbeopentotheSQLserver.
SQLListeningPort Thelisteningportlistensforincomingconnections.IntheOptimaEMSsystem, theseincomingconnectionsoriginateattheOptimaEMSserver.SQLassignsTCP port1433asthelisteningportwhenthedefaultinstanceofSQLisused.Ifthe customerwantsaddedsecurity,theycanchangethisport.Whenusinganamed instanceofSQL,SQLassignsadynamicport,whichthedatabaseadministrator (DBA)canchangetoaknownxedport.
SQLMonitorServer ThemonitorserverserviceusesUDPport1434,whichallowsadministratorsand userstocheckthestatusoftheSQLdatabases.Likethelisteningportdescribed previously,thecustomercanassignthisportadifferentportnumberforincreased security.
