GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The pendant mount teardrop luminaire designated _______ (identify) shall be a GE STREETDREAMS™ PENDANT MOUNT _________ (specify Madison or Lenoir) luminaire, ordering number _______ (specify MADX, MADF, LENX, or LENF plus ordering number logic from catalog) to operate one _______ (specify [50, 70, 100, 150 (55V), 250 or 400] watt high pressure sodium [HPS] or [50, 70, 100, 175, 250 or 400] watt metal halide) lamp from a nominal _______ (specify 120, 208, 240, 277, 347, 120X347, or 480) volt , 50/60Hz power source and shall be capable of starting and operating the specified lamp within the limits specified by the lamp manufacturer. The luminaire shall include a completely prewired integral ballast and an ornamental borosilicate prismatic glass globe that shall provide a(n) _______ (specify symmetric or asymmetric) light distribution. The globe shall be either short (6.5 in. deep) or long (10.5 in. deep). It shall be UL/cUL Listed suitable for wet locations.

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION

The luminaire shall include an ornamental borosilicate, textured prismatic glass globe, socket, ballast, and ornamental ____________ (specify black, charcoal gray, gray, forest green, dark bronze, or custom RAL color) painted heavy gauge cast aluminum housing. It shall mount to 1.5” – 11.5UNC NPS pipe when mounted without an arm, or a 2.000 in. (2.375 in. O.D.) pipe when arm mounted. An aluminum cutoff shield is also available to meet IESNA full cutoff when utilized with a short globe.

The lamp, ignitor, and ballast shall all be accessible without tools.

Upper mounting casting shall easily removable from remaining luminaire portions to facilitate installation. It shall contain three-position terminal block and be labeled for supply and ground connections. Optional fusing shall be located in upper casting and coordinated w/ wattage and input voltage specified.

The electrical compartment housing the ballast, igniter and capacitors shall be accessible without tools. Compartment shall be supported to upper mounting casting via hinge and secured in closed position via eyebolt and wing nut .

The optical compartment shall house the reflector and lamp and shall be accessible without tools. Compartment shall be supported to electrical casting via hinge and secured in closed position via eyebolt and wing nut.

If required luminaire shall be equipped with self-leveling device integrated into the luminaire’s design. Device shall be designed to prevent ingress of water into luminaire by channeling water away from wire way. Device shall be capable of 360º of horizontal rotation as well as keeping luminaire plumb when supporting arms are within +/- 10º of level. The self-leveling device shall be equipped with setscrews to secure luminaire into vertical position. Mounting to the leveling device is accomplished via 1 ½”, 11 ½ UNC pipe.

If required luminaire shall be supplied with a decorative slip fitter arm. Arm shall supplied with one ______ (specify Silhouette, Acorn, Fleur-De-Lis, Filigree, Blossom, Spike, Steeple, Gothic or none) type finial or full-size, three prong NEMA twist lock photoelectric control receptacle and be supplied with (specify shorting cap, photoelectric control or none)

The luminaire shall include a removable ballast which contains ballast , capacitor and starting aid (HPS or PMH).

Lenior Series

BALLAST OPERATION

The luminaire shall have a ____________(specify) ballast*. The plug-in type ignitor (for HPS and Pulse MH only) and ballast shall be prewired to the lamp socket requiring connection of power supply leads only. The ballast shall be in full compliance with lamp-ballast specifications available to the fixture manufacturer from the lamp manufacturers at time of fixture manufacture.

The ballast shall reliable start and operate the lamp in ambient temperatures down to –20oF for mercury or metal halide or –40oF for HPS.

OPTICAL ASSEMBLY

The optical assembly shall have an ornamental, borosilicate textured prismatic glass globe, in either short (6.5 in. deep) or long (10.5 in. deep) configuration, and shall include a _______ (specify mogul or medium) base socket. The socket shall have ability to withstand 6KV ignitor pulses.

The reflector shall be a segmented type utilizing pre-anodized aluminum and providing either a(n) (specify symmetric or asymmetric) distribution. The reflector shall be fully rotatable in 90º increments. Reflector shall accommodate a vertical lamp.
