The 2014 Fusion Hybrid has an EPA-estimated rating of 44 city mpg.1 Plus, “no hybrid has ever looked
this good,” says TheCarConnection.com. Power-split hybrid architecture helps maximize efficiency by
seamlessly switching between the electric traction motor and its 2.0L Atkinson-cycle gasoline I-4 engine.
Powered by a state-of-the-art, lithium-ion battery, the traction motor can allow Fusion Hybrid to operate
in electric mode at speeds of up to 85 mph. When you’re accelerating at speed or passing, the 2.0L gas
engine kicks in as needed to supply extra power. Furthermore, the Regenerative Braking System captures
over 90% of brake energy and uses it to help recharge the battery and maximize your efficiency. Even
when you’re stopping, you’re moving forward in Fusion Hybrid.
