Situation:
The cooling fan’s shield can become loose or fall off. The shield, made of Mu metal, shields the low-noise RF assemblies from magnetic fan interference. Residual FM per­formance can be adversely affected by a loose or missing shield.

Solution/Action:
Check that the shield is securely attached to the cooling fan. Replace it if it is loose or missing. Do not re-use loose shields. Re-calibration of the test set is not required.
Note:
It will be necessary to remove one or more RF assemblies to access and/or inspect the state of the shield. Insure that the RF assemblies are re-inserted correctly into their respective moth­erboard slots.
