Set–Up and Operation
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
•Specification charts for your Fender Bass Amplification speaker cabinet can be found by visiting the Support area of the Fender website at www.fender.com.
•Use the Speakon® type input jack on your speaker cabinet whenever possible to take advantage of its locking connector.
•Never connect more than one amplifier to your speaker cabinet, even if more than one jack is labeled "input." Any extra input jacks are for connecting other speakers (see Parallel Speaker Connections below) or to give you an alternate input plug type, such as Speakon®.
•Never connect speakers with a total impedance load below the minimum rating of your amplifier (see Impedance Guidelines below).
•Never connect speakers with a total power handling capacity below the power output rating of your amplifier.
•Only use unshielded speaker cable of 18 gauge or heavier (such as 16 gauge) for speaker connections. Shielded instrument cable may limit the power delivered to your speaker and the cable may overheat.
•We recommend removing any casters from bass speaker cabinets to extend your bass response by coupling the cabinet more closely to the floor.
IMPEDANCE GUIDELINES
Compare the impedance rating of your amplifier and the impedance load of your speakers to determine if a particular combination of speakers is appropriate for your amplifier. NOTE: All Fender® bass speaker cabinets (and most other brands) are wired in parallel (not in series).
The table (right) gives you the total impedance loads of various combinations of speakers connected in parallel. Ideally, you should connect your amplifier to a speaker load impedance equal to the minimum impedance rating of your amplifier. 
Operating below the amp's minimum impedance rating can easily overheat the amplifier and cause damage. Conversely, operating above the minimum impedance rating reduces the amplifier’s maximum power output capacity.
Also note that different combinations of individual speaker impedances can equal the same total impedance load. If speaker impedances are all the same in a group, each speaker will receive equal power from your amplifier. However, if speaker impedances are not the same, speakers with the lowest impedances will receive the most power. For example, if a 4Ω and an 8Ω speaker are grouped, the 4Ω speaker will draw twice as much power from
your amplifier as the 8Ω speaker! Take this into consideration when calculating power handling capacities.
PARALLEL SPEAKER CONNECTIONS
Multiple Fender bass speaker cabinets can be linked to one amplifier speaker output as shown (see Impedance Guidelines above). Use any jack {A} as an input and any other
jack as an output to the next speaker.
HORN TWEETER
Adjust the volume level of the tweeter with the Horn Level {B} knob/switch. A normal setting is half volume/–6dB. Note that any distortion from your amplifier will be accentuated by the high-frequency response of the tweeter.
NEO/PRO SERIES SPEAKERS: The tweeter is protected from overload by an incandescent lamp. If the tweeter stops working, replace the lamp as you would a fuse. The lamp is located under the input panel. To access the lamp: Remove the 8 screws of the input panel, then pull the panel out. Use a small, flathead screwdriver to remove the blown lamp. There is a spare lamp stowed on the side of the circuit board (reorder P/N 051857). After inserting the new lamp, reinstall the input panel in the reverse order of removal.

Configuración y manejo
INFORMACION IMPORTANTE
•Si quiere encontrar tablas de especificaciones de su recinto acústico para bajo Fender Bass Amplification (FBA), visite la sección Support en nuestra página web www.fender.com.
•Siempre que sea posible, utilice la toma de entrada de tipo Speakon® de su recinto acústico para sacar partido de su conector con fijación.
•No conecte nunca más de un amplificador a su recinto acústico, incluso aunque haya más de una toma marcada como "input". Las tomas de entrada extra se incluyen para la conexión de otros altavoces (vea Conexiones de altavoz en paralelo más abajo) o para que disponga de un tipo de conexión de entrada alternativa, como ocurre con la Speakon®.
•No conecte nunca altavoces con una impedancia de carta total inferior al valor mínimo de su amplificador (vea Consejos relativos a la impedancia más abajo).
•No conecte nunca altavoces con una capacidad de manejo de potencia total inferior al valor de potencia de salida de su amplificador.
•Utilice solo un cable de altavoz sin blindaje de calibre 18 o superior (16 o menos) para las conexiones de altavoz. Los cables de instrumento con blindaje pueden limitar la potencia enviada a su recinto acústico y hacer que el propio cable se recaliente.
•Le recomendamos que quite las ruedecillas de su recinto acústico de bajo para ampliar su respuesta en graves al acercarlo más aún al suelo.
CONSEJOS RELATIVOS A LA IMPEDANCIA
Compare el valor de impedancia de su amplificador y la impedancia de carga de sus altavoces para determinar4 si una combinación concreta de altavoces es adecuada para su amplificador. NOTA: Todos los recintos acústicos de bajo Fender® (y la mayoría de los de otras marcas) están cableados en paralelo (no en serie).
La tabla de la derecha le muestra las impedancias de carga totales de distintas combinaciones de altavoces conectados en paralelo. De forma ideal, debería conectar su amplificador a una impedancia de carga de altavoz igual al valor mínimo de impedancia de su amplificador. 
El hacer que el amplificador funcione por debajo de su valor mínimo de impedancia puede hacer que se recaliente fácilmente y que se produzcan daños. Por contra, el hacerlo funcionar por encima de ese mínimo reduce la capacidad de potencia de salida máxima del amplificador.
Tenga en cuenta también que distintas combinaciones de impedancias de altavoces individuales pueden sumar la misma impedancia de carga total. Si todos los altavoces de un grupo tienen la misma impedancia, cada uno de los altavoces recibirá la misma potencia del amplificador. No obstante, si las impedancias de los altavoces no son las mismas, los altavoces con menor impedancia recibirán más potencia. Por ejemplo, si coloca en un grupo un altavoz de 4 Ω y uno de 8 Ω, ¡el altavoz de 4 Ω recibirá el doble de potencia de su amplificador que el altavoz de 8
Ω! Tenga esto muy en cuenta a la hora de calcular las capacidades de manejo de potencia.
CONEXIONES DE ALTAVOZ EN PARALELO
Puede enlazar varios recintos acústicos de bajo Fender a una única salida de altavoz de amplificador de la forma que le mostramos aquí (vea Consejos relativos a la impedancia arriba). Use cualquier toma {A} como entrada y cualquier otra como salida al siguiente recinto.
TROMPETA TWEETER
Ajuste el nivel de volumen del tweeter con el interruptor/mando Horn Level {B}. Un ajuste normal sería a mitad de volumen/–6 dB. Tenga en cuenta que cualquier distorsión de su amplificador será acentuada por la respuesta de agudos del tweeter.
ALTAVOCES NEO/PRO SERIES: El tweeter está protegido contra las sobrecargas por una bombilla. Si el tweeter deja de funcionar, sustituya la bombilla igual que haría con un fusible. Esta bombilla está situada bajo el panel de entrada. Para acceder a la bombilla: Extraiga los 8 tornillos del panel de entrada y después tire del panel para extraerlo. Use un pequeño destornillador plano para extraer la bombilla fundida. Encontrará una bombilla de repuesto colocada en el lateral de la placa de circuitos (su número de referencia por si necesita adquirir otras es el 051857). Después de colocar la nueva bombilla, vuelva a instalar el panel de entrada repitiendo al revés los pasos anteriores.
