Since 1946, Fender realized the importance of your amplifier. You see, your amplifier
is more than just a combination of dials, wires and speakers. Your amplifier is amusical instrument. And like any fine musical instrument, it should be treated with
special care and attention to detail.
At Fender, we know what building guitar amplifiers is all about. For over half a century,
we have been designing and producing some of the world's best amplifiers helping
shape the face of music. In fact, many of the world's most classic and best sounding
amplifiers have proudly worn the Fender name.
Whether you're after that classic Fender tone, a clean crisp sound for your Bass or
Keyboard or the raw driving power of modern distortion, your decision to purchase a
Fender amplifier is one you will appreciate with each passing note for years to come.
Wishing you years of enjoyment and a heartfelt thank you,

Roc Pro 700 REFERENCE AND OWNER'S MANUAL
INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of a Roc Pro
Tube-Driven Hybrid Amplifier, a melding of
Fender’s distinctive Tube -Tone and cutting edge
Standard Series technology. Designed for today’s
innovative guitarists, our Roc Pro amplifiers have
what it takes to define your sound.
The Roc Pro 700 you now have in your possession
is an amplifier of incredible versatility and enduring
reliability.
Read through this manual and familiarize yourself
with the Roc Pro’s many features, then experiment!
Take the time to uncover the broad spectrum of
tone colors available via the front panel’s EQ and
GAIN controls. And don’t forget the VOLUME and
TONE controls on your guitar! An inherent feature
of the Roc Pro's Hybrid tube design is its sensitivity
to subtle changes in the input signal level. Dial in a
crunch rhythm tone with your guitar’s volume on
10, then slowly roll off the volume and listen to the
cleansing effect. Change your pick attack from
light to heavy, push, pull, thump and pump your
axe, your Roc Pro will respond to every nuance of
your playing!
•All Roc Pro amplifiers use a real 12AX7 / ECC83
preamp tube in their TUBE DRIVE channel to generate a stunning array of Fender tones from Vintage
Overdrive to Sonic Explosion.
•Select the NORMAL channel and dial up ultra
clean… fat and funky… power crunch… And
everything in between.
FEATURES: Roc Pro 700
70 Watts into 8 ohms, 1-12” Fender Special Design
Speaker, Dual Selectable channels (Normal and
Tube Drive) 12AX7 / ECC83 preamp tube, Variable

the drive channel volume control (item L) to set the
overall volume of the Drive channel.
G. DRIVE CHANNEL INDICATOR - The LED is
illuminated while the channel is in use.

I. MID - Adjusts the overall tone quality of the
DRIVE channel . High Mid settings will emphasize mid frequencies. A lower setting will notch
the midrange to produce the “crunch” sound
characteristic in most heavy metal music.
J. BASS - Adjusts the amount of low frequency
boost or cut in the Drive channel. This control is post
distortion and is useful for adjusting the amount of
“thump” or “chunk” produced by the drive channel.
K. DRIVE SELECT - When this button is pressed,
the amp switches from the Normal channel to the
Drive channel.
L. VOLUME - Adjusts the overall volume of the drive
channel .

M. REVERB - Adjusts the amount of reverb present
in both the Drive and Normal Channels.
N. FOOTSWITCH (INCLUDED) - Plug-in connection for the remote footswitch to select between the
normal and drive channels and to turn the reverb
effect on and off. Using the footswitch overrides the
front panel select buttons. NOTE: Any good quality
patch cord will work with the remote footswitch,
however, a speaker grade cord is preferable to a
coax guitar cord.
O. POWER INDICATOR - This LED is illuminated
when the power is ON.
P. POWER SWITCH - Turns the AC power ON
and OFF.

A. LINE CORD - the Roc Pro 700 is equipped with a
grounding type supply cord to reduce the possibility
of shock hazard. Be sure to connect it to a grounded
AC receptacle. DO NOT ALTER THE AC PLUG.
B. LINE OUT - This jack provides an output signal
taken directly off the amplifier output and speaker
and is used for direct connection to recording and
sound reinforcement equipment. Using a stereo
cord in this jack will provide a quasi-balanced signal.
A mono cord will provide an unbalanced signal.

D. LEVEL SWITCH - This switch directly effects the
Send (item C) jack by boosting or attenuating the
signal sent to the effects. External rack effects usually require -7dB or +4dB settings. Effects pedals
usually require a -16dB setting.
E. RETURN - This jack provides a return from your
effects units and is pre-reverb. This jack can also be
used as a power amp input.
C. SEND - This unbalanced jack provides an output
signal from the preamp and is pre-reverb. It may be
used to drive effects units in an effects loop, to drive
additional amplifiers in a multi-amp set up or as a
preamp send to a mixing console.

TUBE REPLACEMENT
The Roc Pro 700 utilizes one Fender special design
12AX7A tube (part #099-5091). For continued optimum performance from your amplifier, this tube
should only be replaced with a tube of the same
type and specification.
TOLEX COVERING CARE
Your Roc Pro 700 is covered in genuine Tolex for
long life and lasting good looks. To clean the Tolex
covering, use a sponge and a light soapy water
solution. Avoid spilling liquids on the operating
surfaces, grill, volume and tone controls, switches
and speakers. ALWAYS unplug your amplifier
before cleaning or approaching it with fluids.
TROUBLESHOOTER'S CHECKLIST
If the amp is set up but does not function, check the following items:
• Is the power cord properly plugged into an electrical outlet?
• Is there power at the outlet?
• Is the speaker properly connected to the amplifier?
• Are all the control knobs turned above zero?
• Is the volume control on the instrument turned up?
• Is the instrument properly plugged into the amplifier?
(Eliminate any effects pedal and try using another cord.)
If after checking all of the above your amplifier is still not performing correctly,
consult your authorized Fender Service Center.
