Software Setup Guide for Macintosh Users
If you are planning to use the EPSON AcuLaser C2000 with a Mac, follow the instructions below to install the printer software. The printer software lets you make basic printer settings like paper size and orientation, and also gives you access to a range of other options that will help you optimize the use of your printer.
When you install the printer driver, the EPSON Status Monitor 3 utility is also automatically installed. This utility gives you the option to view printer information such as the remaining amount of toner, and can be set up to notify you of errors if they occur.
Your Macintosh must meet the following requirements to use the driver included with the printer:
Mac OS 8.1 or later
6 MB of free hard disk space
Note:
Mac OS 8.5.1 and higher support the Type B IEEE 1394 (FireWire)

The Windows and Adobe Postscript printer driver for the EPSON
AcuLaser C2000 do not support the Type B IEEE 1394 Interface.

Follow the steps below to install the printer driver:
1. Turn on your Macintosh and insert the printer software CD-

4. The printer driver must be installed on the same drive as the active system folder. Make sure that the Install Location box displays the correct drive, then click Install.
5. Click Continue in the dialog box that appears.
6. When a message appears informing you that the installation has finished, click Restart to complete the installation.

Selecting your printer in the Chooser

After you have installed the printer driver, you need to open the Chooser to select your printer. This procedure is necessary the first time you use a printer or whenever you want to switch printing to another printer. Your Macintosh will always print using the last printer selected.
