BEFORE YOU PLUG IN - 5
BEFORE YOU PLUG IN
Bass amplication embraces a mixture of technologies in amplication and to ensure you achieve the maximum performance from your cabinet and amplier it is important to ensure you combine the right equipment for your
needs.
Hybrid and non all tube product*
These products can often operate at a variety of loads (known as impedance) this load describes the resistance
provided by the speakers inside the cabinet you plug into. As a general rule the lower the impedance an amplier is used at the higher the output of the amplier will be (Excludes All Tube Product) To ensure you choose the
right cabinet make sure that it meets both the Impedance requirements and the power handling (Wattage) of your
amplier. Plugging into the wrong impedance or combining the wrong amplier with a cabinet that cannot handle the power you put through it can damage the amplier, or cabinet or both.
All Tube Product* This applies only to those ampliers which utilize tubes in power stage of operation. Generally
these are describes as All Tube or All Valve products.
When choosing cabinets to use with all tube ampliers it is important to remember that you must strictly follow the load of the amplier specied by the manufacturer. Failure to do so can and very often will result in the failure of the power amplier stage of your product which is something which can be very expensive to repair. As a general rule most bass products have xed impedances to plug into. Make sure you read and understand this before plugging into a cabinet. If in any doubt contact the manufacturer before you turn your amplier on.

ABOUT IMPEDANCE - 6
About Impedance
To calculate the impedance of the rig you have chosen we have provided a simple to use impedance calculator
in the table below. Just remember that with some ampliers a change of impedance will increase or decrease the power output of the amplier you are using. With Tube ampliers using the incorrect impedance can seriously damage your amplier. Make sure if you are plugging an amplier into 2 cabinets that both of them can handle the
power you are running though them. If the cabinets you are using are not of equal impedances the output to the cabinet will not be shared equally which will affect the power handling requirements depending on your setup. Also
remember to follow the advice on impedances specied by your ampliers manufacturer. Please note impedances
shown are approximate for rig setup purposes.
Please note impedances shown are approximate for rig setup purposes.
1 x 4Ω 4Ω • 1 x 6Ω 6Ω • 1 x 8Ω 8Ω • 2 x 4Ω 2Ω • 2 x 8Ω 4Ω • 1 x 4Ω + 1 x 8Ω 2.6Ω • 1x 4Ω + 1 x 6Ω 2.4Ω • 1 x 8Ω + 1x 6Ω 3.4Ω
IMPORTANT: Some bass ampliers have two output ampliers, when plugging in your cabinets you should ensure that the load and handling matches the requirement for the amplier you are plugging into.

ABOUT E-SERIES CABINETS - 7
Introduction to E-Series Cabinets
The E series cabinet range from Eden is designed to provide affordable bass speaker cabinets that are able to perform in any situation. Designed from the ground up, important details in the engineering of the cabinets such as the construction of the internal frame work and porting are carefully considered whilst each cabinet is loaded
with speakers designed specically chosen to allow the cabinet to produce fantastic response, volume and tone.
Remember the more speakers you have the louder you will sound There are 3 main different types of E series
cabinet each with their own benets.
• Standard E-Series - These are recognized by the presence of a silver horn behind the metal grille on the front of the cabinet and a crossover control on the reverse of the cabinet. These cabinets benet from a
separate tweeter which can be dialed in or out to your taste enabling you to push higher frequencies forward in
your sound after the amplier stage.
• Whizzer Cone Cabinets - Smaller single speaker 10” and 12” cabinets feature a whizzer cone design this
allows the cabinet design to remain super compact whilst retaining the upper and mid level frequencies which
are often lost with this type of cabinet. This 2 cone design allows the cabinet to sound much more open and
responsive.
• SC Model Cabinets - These are the most simple to use cabinet from Eden, these have no horn or crossover control but have been tuned and voiced to provide a great sound right out of the box, simple to set
up the SC models in the E series provide the perfect no nonsense back up for someone looking for the most
affordable way to enjoy great bass performance in a really compact package.
Speaker sizes and congurations Choosing the right speaker size and conguration is a matter of personal taste,
15” speakers take a longer time to respond due to the larger surface area of the cones but produce a generally
warmer fatter sound. Smaller 10” cones offer much faster response. Finding the right choice for you will be a matter of experimentation. Generally with good amplication and a little tweaking all of our cabinets can deliver
the tone you need.

PLUGGING IN - 7
Plugging In
Rear Speaker Jack Plate
There are two types of inputs/outputs on the Eden E series cabinets, a simple ¼" jack socket or 2 Speakon jack sockets and a ¼" jack socket with Crossover control. To plug your unit in with a ¼" connector, connect the speaker cable to the appropriate speaker out on your amplier and then to the cabinet's ¼" jack (4), ensuring a
secure connection before turning on. On units with just a single jack socket, plug directly into this. To plug your
unit in using a Speakon equipped cable, plug into the appropriate speaker output on your amplier and then to the cabinet (1), ensuring a secure connection before turning on. You can then use the second Speakon connection or ¼" jack socket (2) on the cabinet to link to another cabinet if required.
Using the Crossover Control (where applicable)
The crossover control (3) allows you to adjust the level of the tweeter horn in the cabinet, allowing you to dial in
the amount of crispness or snap. This added exibility is especially useful when you need to add extra treble to your sound in unusual acoustic environments. For best results start with your control at the 12 O'clock position and adjust your amplier's settings before adjusting the control on the cabinet. Avoid running any cabinet with a crossover control at 0 (fully counter-clockwise) for long periods of time, as this can decrease the life of the
controller.
