GRAYLINE®
GRAYLINE lets you distinguish between strong and weak echoes. It
"paints" gray ontargetsthat are strongerthan apresetvalue. Thisallows youtotellthedifferencebetween a hardandsoft bottom. Forexample,a

Ifyou have twosignals ofequal size, onewith gray andtheotherwithout,
then the target with gray is the stronger signal. This helps distinguish weedsfromtrees onthe bottom, or fish fromstructure.
GRAYLINE is adjustable. Since GRAYLINE shows the differencebe- tween strongand weak signals, adjusting the sensitivity may requirea

ASP (Advanced Signal Processing)
The ASP feature is a noise rejection systembuilt into the Ultra II that constantlyevaluates the effects of boat speed, water conditions, and interference. This automatic feature gives you thebest displaypossible undermostconditions.
TheASPfeature isaneffectivetool in combatingnoise. Insonarterms, noiseis any undesired signal. SIGNAL INTERPRETATION
Your Ultra II gives an accurate picture of the bottomthat your boat is passing. Abottomoffirmsand, gravel, shell,or hardclay returns

Big rocks or stumpson a smooth bottom send backsignalsabovethe bottom level signal. The heightof the signal depends on the target's height.Asyou passoverapost, itshould beclearly visibleasashortline extending above the bottom signal.
A steep slope returns a wide signal, the steeper the wider. Signals returned from a high underwater cliff are usually the widestofall.
Whenthe Fish l.D. mode is off, thedepth ofthewaterwill affectthe size andshapeofthefish arch duetothe cone angle diameter. Forexample,
