USING YOUR DYSON APPLIANCE

LOOKING AFTER YOUR DYSON APPLIANCE
• Do not car ry out any m aintenance or repair work othe r than that s hown in this
Dyson O peratin g Manual, or a dvised by the Dyso n Helpline .
• Alway s disconne ct the plug from the mains before inspec ting for problems. I f the
appliance will not op erate, fir st check the mains so cket has el ectric ity supp ly and
that the p lug is properly inserted int o the socke t.
OPERATION
• Ensure ap pliance is f ully asse mbled in lin e with the in struc tions before use.
Do not dism antle the a ppliance o r use without the loo p amplifie r fitted.
• The appliance will no t operate in heating mode unless the targ et tempe rature is
above the room tempe rature.
• Each time t he heating mode is se lecte d, it conduc ts a shor t calibration cycle.
Airf low will be au tomatic ally controlled during this cycle. Once the calibration
cycle is c omplete, i t will rever t to the sel ected airflow speed.
• The appliance will no t oscillat e when the control but tons are p ressed.
• Do not lubr icate any p art of thi s applianc e.
CONTROL WITHOUT THE REMOTE
• Press th e power button on th e applianc e to turn ON/OFF.
• Press an d hold the s tandby but ton on th e applianc e to adjust the target
temper ature. Th e target te mperatu re will incre ase to a max imum befo re
decrea sing. If the target temperatu re is set at 0 °C it will s witch from heating to
cool mode.
• The air flow, diff used and p ersonal h eating mo des, oscillation fu nction an d sleep
timer controls cann ot be operated without the remote control.
TILT FUNCTION
• Carefully hold the b ase and the main body. Tilt the amplifier for ward or
backward for the required air flow angle.
AUTOMATIC CUT-OUT
• For your sa fety th is appliance is fitted with au tomatic c ut-out s witches that
operat e if the appli ance tips over or overhe ats. If t he switches opera te, unplug
the appli ance and allow it to cool. B efore res tarting the appliance che ck and
clear any b lockages and ensure t he applian ce is on a solid l evel sur face.
• In heating mode th e applianc e will autom atically s witch ‘OF F’ after 9 hours of
continu ous use and w ill return to standby m ode. To restart the ma chine, pres s
the powe r button on either the remote control or th e base.
TROUBLESHOOTING
• Fault codes F4, F5, F6: If one of these app ears on th e display, unpl ug the
appliance, wait for 30 to 60 secon ds and/or plug the appliance into a dif ferent
socket. If you continue to receive the fault c ode, plea se contac t the Dyson
Helpline.
• Fault codes F2, F3, F7: If one of the se appears on the display, please c ontact t he
Dyson Helpline.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
CAUTION
• Unscrew t he battery compartm ent on the remote cont rol. Loosen the base and
pull to remove the bat tery.
• Do not ins tall back wards or short circu it the bat teries.
• Do not at tempt to di smantle or charge the b atteries. Kee p away from f ire.
• Follow ba tter y manufa cturer s' instructions w hen inst alling new b atter ies
(battery t ype CR 2032).
• Limited functionality i s available without t he remote c ontrol (see 'Contro l without
the remote').
DISPOSAL INFORMATION
• Dyson p roduct s are made from high grade recycla ble mater ials.
Recyc le where po ssible.
• The bat tery s hould be re moved from the produc t before disposal.
• Dispos e of or recycle the bat tery in accordance with lo cal ordinances or
regulations.
• This marking indicates that t his produc t should n ot be dispo sed with other
househ old wastes throughout the EU. To prev ent possible harm to t he
environm ent or huma n health from uncont rolled was te dispos al, recycle it
respon sibly to promote the sustainable reuse of ma terial re sources. To return
your used device, ple ase use th e return an d collec tion sys tems or con tact
the retailer where t he produc t was purch ased. Th ey can take this product f or

• The repa ir or replac ement of yo ur Dyson appliance (at Dyson’s disc retion) if it
is found to b e defec tive due to f aulty m aterials, workman ship or function wit hin
2 years of purchase or d eliver y (if any par t is no longer available or out of
manufa cture Dyson will re place it wi th a functional rep lacemen t part).
• Where this machine i s sold outside of the EU, this warranty will onl y be valid if
the appli ance is use d in the country in which it was sold.
• Where this machine i s sold within the EU, this wa rranty w ill only be va lid (i) if
the appli ance is use d in the country in which it was sold o r (ii) if the appliance is
used in Au stria, Belgium, France, Germa ny, Ireland, Ita ly, Netherl ands, Spa in or
the United Kingdom and the sam e model as t his appliance is sold at t he same
voltage r ating in the relevant co untry.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
Dyson d oes not guarantee th e repair or re placem ent of a produ ct where a
defec t is the result of:
• Accide ntal dama ge, faults c aused by ne gligent u se or care, misuse, negle ct,
careless operat ion or handl ing of the app liance whi ch is not in acc ordance w ith
the Dys on Opera ting Manu al.
• Use of the appliance f or anyth ing other than normal domest ic household
purposes.
• Use of par ts not as semble d or installed in accordance wit h the inst ructio ns of
Dyson.
• Use of par ts and ac cessor ies which are not genuin e Dyson componen ts.
• Fault y installa tion (exce pt where installed by Dyson).
• Repairs or alterat ions carr ied out by pa rties o ther than D yson or it s author ised
agents.
• Blockages – pleas e refer to the Dyson O peratin g Manual for details of how to
look for and clear blo ckages.
• Normal w ear and tear (e.g. fuse et c.).
• Reduc tion in bat tery d ischarge t ime due to ba tter y age or use
(where applicable).

SUMM ARY OF COVER
• The guarantee be comes ef fect ive at the da te of purcha se (or the date of delivery
if this is later).
• You must provi de proof of (b oth the ori ginal and any s ubsequent)
deliver y/purchas e before any work can be carried ou t on your Dy son applia nce.
Without this proof, any work carried out will b e chargeable. Keep y our receipt or
delivery note.
• All work w ill be carried out by Dyson or its a uthoris ed agent s.
• Any par ts which a re replace d by Dyson will become the prop erty of Dyson.
• The repa ir or replac ement of yo ur Dyson appliance under guar antee will not
extend the period of guarantee.
• The guarantee prov ides ben efits which are addi tional to an d do not affect you r
statu tory rights as a con sumer.
