Model: DVD-9000 (that has been equipped with the 1st Edition of the
Subject: Countermeasure for improving the malfunction upon setting the
Dialog.
Symptom: A malfunction occurs that the Italian or German language is not set
even after it was selected in the Dialog section of the Default Setting Menu.
Solution:
The ESS ROM software has been updated.
Note: The following modification has already been applied from the units who have equipped with the 2nd-Edition of DENON-Link.
Modification: Please apply the following modification to the units that have
installed the 1st Edition of DENON Link, upon claim.
• Create a CD-R Disc for updating.

• Main Data File: Dvd9000.rom When recording the data file on a CD-R, the Format shall be "ISO9660, Level 1", and the Session shall be "CLOSE".
• Version of the data file for the New ESS Chip A30N: Ver.6166-4
• File Name: D9lnwchp.cfw When recording the data file on a CD-R, the Format shall be "ISO9660, Level 1", and the Session shall be "CLOSE".

Modification Procedure:
After recording the data files (Ver.6133-4 A30 and A30N) onto a CD-R Disc update the unit according to the following procedures.
Note: The unit automatically selects either file for "A30" or "A30N", according to their ESS Chips.
1) Updating the ESS Chip:
(1) Turn on the Power of the unit. Open the Loader, and set the CD-R Disc on which the Version 6133-4 has been recorded, to the Loader. (2) Press "OPEN/CLOSE" button. (3) The following indication appears on the FL Display, and the Loader opens. Take out the Disc from the Loader.
"CLOSE"Æ "LOADING"Æ "WRITING"Æ "COMPLETE"
(4) Turn off the Power of the unit once. While holding down the "PLAY" and "OPEN/CLOSE" buttons simultaneously, turn on the Power. (5) When " >II" mark appears on the FL Display, confirm the Version since the following versions appear by turns when the "MENU" button on the Remote Control is pressed. DRV xxxx (Firmware version of DRIVE), ESS 6133-4 (This time), PANEL xxxx (Firmware version of the FRONT). (6) After confirming the above, press "DISPLAY" button on the Remote Control. The following version of the ESS Chip appears. Confirm the Version of the ESS Chip.
• "ESS A30" or "ESS A30N" appears. Note:
• In the case of the old ESS Chip, "ESS A30" appears.
• When it is the new ESS Chip, "ESS A30N" appears.
Caution: Please do not turn off the Power of the unit during the updating operation. If the Power was turned off during the updating, you have to replace the Flash ROM.
• During the updating, if the display has not changed into the "Write Complete" or "COMPLETE", and "LOADING" indication remains, please wait for more than two minutes after closing the Loader, and then turn the Power off. Then, start the updating operation again from the beginning.
Marks to show the modified units:
• For the Units equipped with the 2nd Edition of DENON Link, a white paint marking has been attached on the left side of the Mechanism.
