Subject: Countermeasure for the malfunction that occurs upon playing back
particular discs.
Symptom: 1) The unit is incapable of playing back particular DVD Audio discs
such as Tchaikovsky, etc.
2) The unit repeats only one track upon playing back a particular DVD Audio disc
"ATAGIIN", even though the unit has been set to "REPEAT ALL".
Solution:
occur. Record the following program files onto one blank CD-R Disc together
and update your customer's unit by means of the Disc upon claim.
• Program files:
1) Program File for the unit equipped with the 1st Edition of DENON LINK and
the old ESS chip: (Ver.6133-9, Chip version: 630)
• Name of the File: Dvd9000.rom
2) Program File for the unit equipped with the 1st Edition of DENON LINK and
the new ESS chip: (Ver.6133-9, Chip version: 630N)
• Name of the File: D9knwchp.cfw
3) Program File for the unit equipped with the 2nd Edition of DENON LINK and
the old ESS chip: (Ver.6235-7, Chip version: 630)
• Name of the File: D9kdlse.cfw
4) Program File for the unit equipped with the 2nd Edition of DENON LINK and
the new ESS chip: (Ver.6235-7, Chip version: 630N)
• Name of the File: D9kdlsen.cfw
The ESS Software was corrected so that the malfunctions do not

CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE:
Note: When recording the files on the Disc, the format shall be "ISO9660" and
the session shall be "CLOSE".
• Rewriting Procedures of the ESS ROM:
1) Turn the Power of the unit on and open the Loader. Then, set the CD-R for
rewriting to the Loader.
2) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button.
3) The following indications appear on the FL Display and Loader opens
automatically. Take out the disc from the Loader.
• Indications on the FL Display: "CLOSE"Æ "LOADING"Æ "WRITING"Æ
"COMPLETE".
• Confirmation of the Versions:
1) Turn off the Power of the unit once. While holding the "PLAY" and
"OPEN/CLOSE" buttons on the unit down simultaneously, turn the Power on.
After the ">|| " mark appeared on the FL Display, press "MENU" button on the
Remote Control, so that the following Versions appear by turns. Confirm the
Version.
• DRV**** (Firmware Version of the Drive), ESS 6133-9 or 6235-7 (this time) and
PANEL**** (Firmware Version of the Front).
2) After confirming the above, press the "DISPLAY" button on the Remote
Control, so that the following Version of the ESS Chip is indicated.
Confirm the Version.
• Indication: "ESS 630" or "ESS 630N"
Note: Please do not turn off the Power of the unit during the rewriting operation
by means of the CD-R. If the Power was turned off during the operation, you
have to replace the Flash IC. (During the rewriting operation, if the unit has
remained indication of "LOADING" without changing into the "Write Complete"
or "COMPLETE" indication, please wait for more than two minutes after closing
the Loader and turn off the Power of the unit. Then, turn on the Power and
perform the rewriting operation again from the beginning.)
