INSTRUCTIONS
Before using the appliance, extract the power cable completely and plug into the mains. To rewind the cable, unplug and press the cable wind pedal (L) (fig. 10).
Turning on
To turn the appliance on and off, press the ON/OFF pedal switch (N) (fig. 11).
Electronic suction power regulation (fig. 12)
The electronic regulator (M) on the appliance varies the suction power. The electronic regulation enables suction power to be varied according to the type of surface to be cleaned. The maximum power of the appliance can therefore be exploited to vacuum dust from carpets or hard floors (marble, ceramics, cotto, etc) and a lower suction power to clean curtains or other light fabrics.
Manual suction power regulation (fig. 13)
The hose handgrip incorporates a mechanical suction regulator. This enables suction power to be varied rapidly and practically by simply moving the slide.

Replacing the dust bag
To change the dust bag, press the dust bag compartment opening button (P) and lift the cover (fig. 15). Remove the dust bag support (fig. 16a), close the bag by pulling the tab (fig. 16b), remove the bag and throw away. Insert the new dust bag into the guides, following the direction of the arrow (fig. 17a) and push as far as it will go. Replace the dust bag support (fig. 17b) and close the cover of the appliance by exerting light pressure. The hose coupling automatically enters the hole in the dust bag. You should change the dust bag frequently when vacuuming up very fine dirt such as flour, talcum powder, etc.
NB:
The appliance has a safety device which prevents the dust bag compartment cover being closed when there is no dust bag in place.
Never use the appliance without the dust bag.
This could damage operation of the appliance.
CLEANING
Dust bag full indicator (fig. 14)
The dust bag full indicator (O) indicates when the dust bag needs changing or the vacuum hose is blocked. You should change the bag before the full length of the indicator turns red to guarantee optimum hygiene and the quality of the air emitted into the environment.

Motor protection filter (fig. 18)
To extend the working life of the appliance and protect the motor, it is vital to keep the motor protection filter clean. To access the filter, open the dust bag compartment, extract the dust bag and remove the filter holder (fig. 17). Then remove the filter from the filter holder. If the filter is not excessively dirty, simply remove the dust. If particularly clogged, it must be washed and dried. Make sure the filter is completely dry before putting back in the filter holder, then in the appliance.

Back filter
Depending on the model, your appliance is fitted with a microfilter or high efficiency filter (HEPA Filter**) This is housed under the air outlet slits. To replace, press and lift the grille (R) (fig. 19). Replace with the new filter, then close the grille, pressing lightly until it clicks into place. If your appliance has a HEPA filter, make sure the rubber part is facing the appliance. You should replace the filter at least every five dust bag changes. For HEPA filter models, replace the filter every four dust bag changes.
* The HEPA Filter (High Efficiency Particulate Air) removes impurities down to a size of 0.3 microns, filtering all types of particle and even bacteria.
Important warning:
Never use the appliance without the filter.

If this does not resolve the problem, take the appliance to an authorised service centre.
