Warnings
GENERAL WARNINGS
After removing the packaging, make sure the product is complete and undamaged. If in doubt, do
not use. Contact an authorised technical service centre.
Packaging (bags, polystyrene foam, staples, etc) should be kept out of reach of children as they are
a potential hazard.
• Before connecting the appliance, make sure the specification given on the rating plate corresponds to that of the mains electricity supply.
• The appliance must be connected to a mains socket conforming to current legislation on domestic installations.
• The mains must be earthed and with a power adequate for the rated power of the appliance.
• This appliance must be used exclusively for the purpose for which it was expressly conceived,
namely as an air conditioning unit for domestic use or similar.
• Any other use is considered improper and thus dangerous.
• Improper, incorrect or irresponsible use absolves the manufacturer from all liability for resulting
damage.
When using any electrical appliance, certain fundamental rules should be respected, in particular:
• Do not touch the appliance with wet or damp hands or feet.
•Protect the appliance from atmospheric agents (rain, sun, etc).
• Always position the air conditioning unit on a stable surface.
• Do not use the appliance near bath tubs, showers or sinks (minimum distance, 1 metre).
• Keep the appliance away from electric or convection heaters or other heat generating appliances.
• Never insert objects into the intake or outlet ventilating holes.
• Leave a minimum of 50 cm between the appliance and furniture or walls.
• Do not rest anything on top of the appliance.
•Avoid contact with chemical substances.
• Do not use the appliance without the filter.
• Do not use the plug to turn the appliance on and off. Always use the switch on the control panel.
• Clean the air filter when dirty. The appliance is much more efficient when the air filter is clean.
• Do not allow children or unfit persons to use the appliance without adequate supervision.
• Never allow children to play with the appliance.
• Children and elderly or disabled persons are not always aware of the potential risks deriving from
use of an electrical appliance. The appliance must never be used without adult supervision.
• Never connect the appliance to multiple sockets or extensions.
• Never scratch or twist the power cable.
• Before cleaning or maintenance of any sort, always turn the appliance off and disconnect from
the mains power supply by unplugging from the socket or turning off the mains switch.
• In the case of breakdown and/or faulty operation, turn the appliance off. Do not tamper.
• If repairs are necessary, contact an authorised technical service centre only and ask for original
spare parts only to be used. Failure to respect the above may jeopardise the safety of the
appliance.
• When not in use, you should render the appliance inoperative by turning it off and disconnecting
it from the mains (after turning off the mains switch).
• Parts which may constitute a danger, particularly if played with by children, should also be rendered harmless.
• The appliance conforms to EC directives 89/336 EEC - 92/31/EEC - 93/68 EEC on electromagnetic
compatibility (EMC) and EC directives 72/23/EEC -93/68 EEC on low voltage (BT).
• Do not obstruct the air intake or discharge grills. To use the air exhaust kit supplied, you must leave
a window or French window open slightly.
