This instruction manual is an integral part of the equipment and is
intended for the user.
Culligan declines any liability for the consequences of operations not
complying with that given in this manual or carried out by unauthorized
persons.
ATTENTION
Any installation, maintenance or repair work on the systems must be carried out by Authorized Culligan Service
Center personnel.
The room where the systems, ancillary material and consumable products are located must meet the safety, use and
storage requirements of the current regulations.
The water produced by every unit must only be used for its specifically intended purpose. Culligan declines any

The Aqua-Cleer MFP 4-44 MD MD is designed to produce very pure
water for hemodialysis use in conjunction with artificial kidneys; it must
therefore be fed with water to be treated, having characteristics at least
suitable for potable use and treated through a prefiltration process
specially developed and created by Culligan, on the basis of appropriate
chemical analyses.
For the quality of product water, the Aqua-Cleer MFP 4-44 MD is
compatible with all artificial kidneys which, for the qualitative
characteristics of the inlet water, adopt AAMI standards. For the quantity
of product water it is compatible with all artificial kidneys which, overall,
are able to receive an equivalent water flow.
Due to i ts design, th e Aqua-Cleer MFP 4-44 MD can only be u sed for
hospital dialysis by medical and/or auxiliary medical personnel.

of bacterial loads that can be created when the water remains stagnant
for certain period.
FOR THE SANITIZATION OPERATIONS,
CONTACT THE AUTHORIZED CULLIGAN

SERVICE CENTER.
SANITIZATION FREQUENCY
It is advisable to carry out this operation at least once a month.
Sanitization must be always carried out in the following cases:
A) At first start-up and after every replacement of the osmosis
modules.
B) Before every dialysis session when done at home.
C) When the treated water intended for the user is contaminated by
bacteria (ascertained through special analyses by hospital
personnel).
D) In case of public or private health service facilities, when deemed
appropriate by the doctor in charge of dialysis
E) Before every equipment stop for periods of more than 3-4 days.
F) Regularly every 6 months when not done for one of the above
reasons and the equipment has not been operated continuously.
RECOMMENDED SANITIZING CHEMICALS AND THEIR
CONCENTRATION
PERESAL with max. permissible concentration of 0.2% in at least
softened water.
