OWNER'S INSTRUCTIONS
Close door end disconnect power to the garage
The tro#ey must be /n down (closed door) posit/on
during asmanibly and Installation. If you have a
completely installed garage dooropener, the rail/opener
assembly must be taken down. UP and DOWN Umlte
mustbe readjusted after installation.
Opener hanging brackets will require reposltioningdue to
increased rail length.

rail in your opener carton withthe longerone in this kit.
Add the center rail in this Idtas the second or third rail,
creating a four rail assembly. Use the beltassembly and
longer emergency release rope in this kit in place ofthose
packaged with your opener. Complete the assembly,
Installation, and adjustment of your opener according to
yourOwner's Manual.

1. Pull down onthe emergency release handle, then
disconnectthe trolleyfrom the doorarm.
2. Disconnect the rail/opener assembly from the header
bracket and hanging brackets, and place it on the
floor.
3. Remove the bell cap retainerfrom the opener
sprocket and set aside.
4. Disconnect the master link fromthe trolley threaded
shaft and belt; discard.
5. Remove the spring/nut from the trolleyand dlscerd,
6. Remove idler pulleyassembly and set aside.
7. Remove the hall assembly anddiscard.
8. Remove the 1/4"-20xl-3/4 bolt and lock nutfrom the
trolley stop hole (see Figure 1) inthe front railand set
aside.
9. Push the trolley beck toward the opener head.
Disconnect the frontrail section by using a
screwdriver tip to pry up the outer tab oneach side of
the rail, then slide itoff the center rail Discard the
front rail
10. Align the new frontrail and center railswith the
existingrailassembly, keeping the small holes along
the same edge, andthe cut out =window" at the front
(header) end. Be sure to keep rails rightside up: the
idlerpu/ley bolthole above the windowls largeron top
of the ra#than on the bottom. SIIde the new nentsr rel!
ontothe assembly;then addthe front rail.Tabs along
the side will lock intoplace.
11. As a temporary trolley stop,clamp a locking pliers
ontothe rail,8" from the center of the idler pulley
hole, as shown in Figure2. Slide the trolleyassembly
to this point
12. Lay the new bell beside the rail as shown in Rgurs 3.
Grasp the end withthe hookedtrolleyconnector and

passapproximately 12" of belt through the window,
keeping the dbbed side toward the rail. Allow it to
hangwhile youcomplete the next two steps.
13. Replace the idler pulley, lockwasher and nut. Rotate
itto be sure it spinsfreely. Grease the center if
necessary.
14.Replace the the 1/4"-20xl-3/4 belt and lock nutinto
the trolley stophole.
15. Pull the belt around th_ Idler pulley and hook the
trolley connector into the retaining slot on the trolley
as shown in Figure 4. The fibbed side must contact
tbepu/_y.
16. With the trolley against the pliem, dispense the
remainder of the belt along the rail assembly toward
the powerhead and around the sprocket. The
sprocket teeth must engage the belt.
17. Check to make sure the boltis not twisted, then
connect it to the fiat end of the trolley threaded shaft
with the master |ink, as shown:
• Push pins of master link bar through holes in end
o1bert and trolley threaded shaft.
• Push master link cap over pins and past pin
notches.
• SUde dip-on epring over cap and onto pin notches
unti| both pins are securely locked in place.
18. Insert the trolley threaded shaft through the hole in
the trolley. Be sure the belt is not twistS, and the
fibbed side faces the rail
19. Hold the bertat the trolley sh_ft as youthree,d the
spring nut by hand (Figure 5) onto the shaft until
finger tight against the trolley. Do notuse any tools.
20. Remove the Iocldngpliers.
21. Set the belt tension:
• Inserta screwdrivertip intoone o_the nut ringslots

• Place a 7/16' opefl endwreflch no the square end.

22. Replace the belt cap retainer and complete the re-
installation and adjustment of your opener accon:ling
to your owner's manual.
23. Replace the old emergency release rope withthe
new, longer replacament rope.
24. Reconnect power and operate the door in the UP
direction.
25. Increase the UP travel limit by turning the UP limit
adjustrnent screw in a olockwtse direc_on as shown
on label. One turn equals 2" of travel
