Follow the instructions herein when installing the Copy Tray-J1 to its host machine.

1.2 Preparation Before Installation

1.2.1 Preparation for installation

Be sure to check if the Finisher P1 or the Inner 2 Way Tray C1 has been installed before starting to install this tray. (The iR C3100 series)

Be sure to check if the Finisher S1 or the 3 Way Unit-A1 has been installed before starting to install this tray. (The iR 2230/2270/2870/3570/2230F/2270F/2870F/2870N/3570F of the iR 4570/3570, 2870/2270 series).

1.3 Installation Procedure

1.3.1 Installation Procedure

(The iR C3100 series)

1) Adjusting the projections [2] at the both ends of tray to the holes, attach the tray [3].

1.3.2 Installation Procedure (The iR 4570/3570, 2870/ 2270 series)

1) Separate the 2 claws [1] with a flathead

screwdriver or others, and detach the delivery cover [1].

2) Plug the power cable (for outlet) into the outlet.

3) Turn ON the switch of the main power.

4) Enter the Service mode. The user mode key a Press 2 and 8 simultaneously

a Press the user mode key.

5) Set the menu flag below at 1. COPIER > OPTION > ACC > OUT-TRAY

6) Turn OFF the power switch of the control panel unit.

7) Turn OFF the main power switch.

8) Turn ON the main power switch.

9) Enter the Service mode.

Press the user mode key.

10) Press the co-use specification setting and open the setting menu for the dedicated tray, and check if the menu of the copy tray is added.

11) Select either tray B or C to copy, and perform test copy.

12) Set a tray in compliance with the needs of the user.

5) Enter the Service mode. The user mode key a Press 2 and 8 simultaneously a Press the user mode key.

COPIER > OPTION > ACC > OUT-TRAY

7) Turning off the Host Machine.

How to turn off the main power (Models with the hard disk, Products with the iR System Expansion Kit-A1 (option) installed) To protect the hard disk of the machine, take the following steps when turning off the main power.

1. Hold down the control panel power switch for 3 sec or more.

2. Go through the instructions shown on the control panel touch display (for shutdown sequence) so that the host machine’s main power switch may be turned off.

3. Turn off the host machine’s margin power switch.

4. Disconnect the power cable (from the power outlet).

1. Press the power switch on the control panel unit.

2. Turn OFF the main power switch.

3. Disconnect the power cable (for a receptacle).

8) After 3 or more sec. has passed, turn ON the main power switch.

9) Enter the User mode.

Press the user mode key.

10) Press the co-use specification setting and open the setting menu for the dedicated tray, and check if the menu of the copy tray is added.

11) Select either tray B or C to copy, and perform test copy.

12) Set a tray in compliance with the needs of the user.
