Thank you fo r showing your cond ence in us by purchasin g the BEHRINGER MICROPHO NO PP400, a compa ct phono preamp lier.

Turntables h ave low-level signals. H owever, most audio unit s can only proces s line-level signals. B etween a turnta ble and another audi o unit (a mixer, an amplier, or a reco rding unit), the PP400 a cts as an interm ediary, as follows:

1. The PP400 eq ualizes a turntab le signal according to R IAA specicat ions.

2. The PP400 ampli es the RIAA equaliz ed signal.

3. The PP400 outp uts a line-level s ignal.

Connectors and Control Elements

This sec tion illustrat es and describe s each PP400 connec tor and control ele ment.

(4) OUTPUT (L and R) connec tors:

To use these RC A connectors, y ou need an RCA audio c able (stereo). Use this aud io cable to connect:

• the L (lef t) OUTPUT on the PP400 to t he left input on the ampli er,

recordi ngunit, or mixer. (On a mixer, use a CD o r TAPE input.)

• the R (right) OUT PUT on the PP400 to the right inp ut on the amplier,

recordingunit, or mixer

(5) OUTPUT connector:

To use this ¼”, TRS (stereo) conne ctor, you need an audio c able. Use the audio ca ble to connec t the PP400 OUTPUT to an in put on the mixer, amplie r, or recordi ng unit. Oneend of th is audio cable must i nclude a ¼”, TRS conne ctor. If the input on th e mixer, amplier, or recording unit is:

• stereo, th e other end of the audio c able must includ e a ¼”, TRS connecto r

• mono, the oth er end of the audio cab le must include 2 TS co nnectors

(one for each mo no input)

SERIAL NUMBER: To register you r unit, use the seria l number that is loca ted on the bottom of the PP400.

Setup Example

The follow ing is an example of how t o set up the PP400:

(1) 12 V𝌂 connector:

To connect th e power supply unit to t he PP400, use the 12 V connector. Connecting the power supp ly unit to the mains auto matically switc hes the PP400 on. To discon nect the unit f rom the mains, pull ou t the main cord plug.

(2) ON LED:

As soon as t he unit is connec ted to the mains, the ON LE D is illuminated.

(3) INPUT (L and R) conne ctors:

To send a turnt able signal to the PP400, yo u need an RCA audio c able (stereo). Use this cable to connect:

• the left outp ut on the turntab le to the L (left) INPUT o n the PP400

• the right outp ut on the turntabl e to the R (right) INPUT on the PP40 0

The PP400 ca n output a line-l evel signal via one of th e following connec tors:

• RCA ((4) OU TPUT L and R)

• ¼” TRS ((5) OUTPUT)

◊ Do not simultaneously use both PP400 OUTPUTs.
