Automatic Safety Function

This machine is equipped with automatic safety functions which detect and diagnose faults and reacts appropriately (see “Troubleshooting Guide”).

WA STAR 1200

Prewash cycle increases programme duration by approximately 15 min. Consumption values were measured in normalized conditions in compliance with Standard IEC 60 456. The data on the “Energy Label” refer to programme “Coloured Cotton 60 °C”. Consumption data in th e home may vary with respe ct to the valu es in the tabl e in re lation t o the water supply pressure and temperature, the load and the type of wash. * To reduce the water temperature, some cold water is added at the end of the main wash cycle, before

the pump drains the water out.

ADD DETERGENT, CLOSE THE DOOR AND SELECT THE PROGRAMME

Add the detergent as described in the chapter “Detergent and Addit ive s” in the booklet.

1. Turn the

programme selector knob

to the desired programme and temperature.

• The pilot lamp of the

“Start/Pause”

button is flashing.

2. The programme sequence and the predefined spin speed indication corresponding to the selected programme lights up.

PRESS ANY DESIRED OPTION BUTTON(S). The pilot lamp lights up.

An audible tone sounds if the combination of programme, additional options and temperature is not possible. Unsuitable combinations of options are deselected automatically.

“Rapid Wash” button

• For quick, economical washes. Ideal for minimum loads of lightly-soiled articles.

“Prewash” button

• Only for heavily soiled loads (for example sand, granular dirt) sensible. The cycle time increases by approximately 15 min.

“Intensive Rinse” button

• A further rinse cycle is added.

• This option is particularly suitable for areas with very soft water washing baby linen and helps

people with allergies.

“Rinse Hold” button

• The laundry remains in the last rinse water without progressing to the final spin cycle to avoid creasing and prevent colours from changing.

• This option is particularly recommended for the programme “Synthetics” or “Delicates”.

• This function is particularly useful if you want to postpone spinning to a later time.

Note:

The programme stops to “Rinse Hold” at the time the “Rinse Hold” button light flashes.

Terminate the “Rinse Hold” option:

• Press the “Rinse Hold” button again; the programme will terminate automatically with the final spin cycle for the present wash programme.

• If you do not wish to spin the clothes, turn the programme selector knob to the drain programme and press the

“Start/Pause”

button again.

“Spin Speed Reduction” button

• Every programme has an automatic predefined maximum spin speed.

• Press the button to set another spin speed.

• If the spin speed

“0”

is selected, the final spinning is cancelled. The water is drained out only.

PROGRAMME START

Open the tap and press the

“Start/Pause”

button. The pilot lamp of the

“Start/Pause”

button lights up. The indicator lamps show the seque nce re ache d in t he program me. Af ter s tarting th e pro gramme, the sequence indication runs from left to right through Wash, Rinse, Spin. When the sequence of the programme is finished the corresponding lamp goes out.

DOOR LOCK

During the first 15 minutes of the cotton and synthetics programmes the door can be opened for adding further laundry. This is not possible if “Rapid Wash” is selected. The door can be opened when the “Door Free” indication is shining.

PROGRAMME END

• All the lights of the programme sequence indication are off.

A short audible tone sounds three times.

1. Turn the programme selector to the

“ ”

position.

2. Turn the water supply tap off.

3. Open the door and unload the machine.

CHANGE THE PROGRAMME AND OPTIONS AFTER PROGRAMME START

1. Press the

“Start/Pause”

button to pause the programme. The light flashes.

2. Select the new programme, any options and another spin speed if you want it.

3. Press the

“Start/Pause”

button again. The new programme continues at the same position where

the previous programme was interrupted. Do not add detergent for this programme.

TO CANCEL A PROGRAMME BEFORE THE END

1. Press the

“Start/Pause”

button to pause the programme. The light flashes.

2. Set the programme selector to “Drain”. The spin indicators show

“0”

3. Press the

“Start/Pause”

button to start the drain programme.
